Elizabeth had thought long and hard about joining the Equestrian Club. And even though she knew she had no reason to hesitate on it, she had to make her pros and cons list. She called her parents to ask their opinion and she kept coming into the stables to look at the horses and ask around about the different types and breeds and their needs. She left no stone unturned when it came to this decision and finally, after a long while, she went to the stable hand with all the excitement of a five year old kid on Christmas Day.
Having picked out a pretty outfit the night before, the pyrokinetic was buzzing with energy as she walked down to the stables to find the person in charge.
"Hello? Is anybody around?" She called out, her hand touching every reachable surface as she tried hard not to let her excitement bubble over too much.

Cyril had no hesitations in starting the club, since the school did have a nice place for horses, had horses, and well he loved horses. He was happy to share in the horse loving fun, but also knew that it was very important for the students and adults that would be around the horses to know that they could not just go up and feed a horse anything they liked or just take them off to go ridding. He had not gotten around to making any rules or anything, but did post up basically, ask before you feed or walk off with any of the horses. Even if no one really asked, he was still watching, he was always watching everything that was going on at the stables even if he was not around. He was going to work on insulting cameras, mainly so he could check in on the horses on his laptop when he would be back in his room since there was not really an ideal living space for him in the stables.
There was a girl's voice outside the stable and then soon in them, which had Cyril looking down. He had been weightless at the moment as he was working on changing a light bulb that was out. Sure he could have used a ladder, but what need did he have for one of those? "I'm around, well up at the moment. Anyways hay! I'll be down in a sec." Cyril said responded as he held onto the dead light bulb and snapped a few time with his right hand to bring him back down to the right amount of gravity, landing in front of the girl. he looked over the girl and found her clothing to not only be very adorable but he was living them boots, noting that he was going to have to get him and his little sister a matching pair. Then this girl, his sister, and he could be triplets. "Oh!" Cyril said suddenly with a gasp as he moved the light bulb over his head and pointed at the girl.
"You have questions yes? Cyril Kingsley at your service. Ask away Filly." Cyril said with a bright grin and also a chuckle at his whole light bulb joke, even if it was less of an idea and more of a realization. Pretty much the same thing, still works. Cyril thought to himself and nodded inwardly.
{it's not lame it's beautiful! thank you for plotting with me ^-^}

Hearing a voice above her, Elizabeth looked up and grinned at the person hovering over her, staring as he floated downwards with a bulb in his hand. His once over had her looking down at herself too, trying to find anything out of place but she looked nice! So she didn't worry too much.
Her eyes widened a little at his exclamation before she chuckled when the light bulb went over his head. Telekinesis?
"Uh...yeah, actually I do! Huh...you've got a few tricks up your sleeve I see." Elizabeth noted, very impressed. "Anyway, yes I do have questions. I'm actually very very very interested in joining the Equestrian Club and I was wondering how many days a week do you meet up and how many people will be taking care of one horse and do I get to choose a horse and if so can I come over here to ride it whenever I want to?" She blabbered, the smile on her face widening with each question.

He moved over to toss the light-bulb in a special trashcan, since it really should not have been tossed away with normal trash. Plus it was less of a toss and more so a gentle placement since he did not want the light bulb to break and let any of its harmful fumes into the air which would be bad for the horses. That light bulb was not really all that harmful, it was the fluorescent ones that were and there were a few of them in this barn, but thankful they were all working and everything was in order. Cyril gave a chuckle at her brining up that he had tricks up his sleeve. "Indeed I do. You could say I'm a Jack of all trades." Cyril responded as he pulled out a Jack card from out from under his sleeve, and yes it had already been there this whole time. He might have always had some sort of item tucked away on his person so he could use it to make his puns and jokes.
Then the girl was asking question, relating to the club and the horses in general which did make Cyril let out a small squee for a moment, unable to contain his excitement. "For how many days, that is still up in the air. Twice a week would be ideal but I wanted to see what would work best with all of the soon to be members." Cyril explained as he pointed up and gesturing to the air around them. "It is best for there to be one person per horse, and first six get to pick the horse they would like to take care of." Cyril gestured to the stalls behind him, which currently had all the horses in them since he had just given them their shots for the season and was letting the meds do their job before he would let them back out to the pastures. "So long as you prove a capable rider and take good care of your horse, you can come down and ride them any time." Cyril gave her a big grin still, as he may have been squirming a little, because he wanted to just run off and just brag about all the horses, but he let her pick.

When the man produced a card from his sleeve, Elizabeth didn't know whether to be more impressed or amused by how lame it was. Lame though it was, she was very amused by it either way. She adored bad jokes and puns so much. She had to purse her lips to stop herself from laughing too hard.
And then the guy managed to answer each and every one of her questions, which made her smile even more. Everything was making her very giddy and the fact that she could choose her own horse made her physically squeal.
"You're kidding me right now!" Her hands squeezed into fists as she looked around at the horses behind him. "Oh my God!" She squealed once more before running to the guy and jumping on him, hugging him with all she had. It lasted for two seconds before she jumped off him and ran over to the stalls, flitting from one to the other, making her choice.
"Any one of these could be mine?" She turned to look at the stable hand, her eyes practically twinkling with exhilaration.

It was good that Liz enjoyed bad jokes and puns, because Cyril was full of them and he had a habit of making sure to slip in at least one in a conversation. He already had used several pun words and did the whole light bulb and card trick, so he licked to think that he met his quota. That didn't mean he was going to stop even if Liz did not enjoy them, but she did which just added to encouraging in Cyril's little delight. He could not help but to keep his huge smile as the girl seemed pleased that he was able to answer all of her questions and that she got to pick out her very own horse, which meant that at some point Cyril would tack her name under the name plate or stall number of the horse that she picked. That way if he was not around, then someone could ask Liz if they could help her out with a horse. Keeping track of everything was the most important when it came to large animals such as horses.
A squeal was released from the girl as she seemed to fully let out her excitement over everything. "Right now! What are you waiting for?! Go, quick! Pick!" Cyril said as if this was a onetime offer and they were going to be sold out. It was a onetime offer, and at some point they were going to be 'sold out' but she had time. There was another squeal followed by a hug which he did not expect. He would have hugged her back and spun her around for a moment, but the hug didn't last long enough for him to react and then the girl was already jumping off of him and looking through all the stalls. He watched with an amused chuckle at her eagerness and it made him happy that he was not the only one that loved horses. "Any one you would like, except Ivy. She is a bit of a wild card and my little sister claimed her already, but anyone other than that, can be yours today! All you have to do is tell me your name and sign up officially with the school!" Cyril said now sounding like a commercial add, again with a limited time offer and if you order in time you got something free.

The man's words did not register as Elizabeth tried to make her decision. She was just way too excited to think of more than the fact that she wanted to ride a horse that just looked ridiculously pretty.
Finding the perfect one, Elizabeth's jaw dropped at the white thoroughbred. Her breating started to shallow as she turned to look at the guy with a huge smile on her face. "This...this one I want." She bit her lower lip and another squeal came out of her as she jumped on the spot.
"Dude this is definitely the best day of my life." She practically leaped over to the taller blonde and took his hand, shaking it vigorously. "Oh! I didn't even catch your name! I'm Liz! Well, Elizabeth. Well Elizabeth Edison. But everyone calls me Liz anyway. What's your name and what does everybody call you?"

Cyril did pick up on that basically his words were going in one ear and out the other, but he was not offended in anyway. She was excited, over horses! Why would he be upset over such a thing? He too would be all chipper, running around like a chicken with its head cut off as he decided which horse to pick. Now I want chicken to eat. Cyril thought as he gave his stomach a rub, but he was not really hungry yet, so he had to wait. Where was he? Oh right! Horses and how he would be a ball of excitement if he got to pick one, but he didn't have to pick. In a way they were all his and he got to take care of them whenever the students could not and when some of the students would go off for break. Not all of them could leave, but those who had control over their powers could and if they lived close. At least for now kids were still able to go home, but who knew how long that would last with that group out there.
Cyril watched at the eager girl stopped in front of stall six, where a Thoroughbred female was currently in, gracefully licking on a salt lick until the girl was outside her stall door. The words Cyril expected to hear escaped the girls lips as he skipped on over and tapped the nameplate on the stall door. "This is Heiress, and her name is not just because of her elegant look, but she actually comes from a long line of show winning horses." Cyril informed her, giving just that little simple fact and would let her figure out the rest about the horse herself. Since his views and knowledge on the horse was based upon working with them yes, but his bond was different from the horses then it would be for the children of the club, which was his desire. He found it incredibly adorable how she squealed and jumped like she was some child who had been finally been told that, yes they could have a pony. Even if this was a horse and not a pony; yes there was a difference.
Oh she is full of energy. Cyril thought as she leaped over to him and took his hand and informed him that this was the best day of her life. He gave her hand a firm shakes back, but was delicate enough to not outright crush the girls hand or make the handshake weird in anyway. He chuckled at the girl saying she did not catch his name and then introduced herself. "Nice to meet you Elizabeth Edison a.k.a Liz. My name is Cyril Kingsley, most students call me Mr. Kingsley, but if you want and feel comfortable with me you can call me Cyril when no other adults are around." Cyril said wanting to keep a tad bit professional, but who knew how long that would last the more he worked with his club members, got to know them and had club activities happen. "Would you like to get a closer look and pet her before you confirm your decision?" Cyril asked as he already started to unlock the stall door, since he really didn't think she would say no.

Elizabeth's eyes wandered down to the nameplate and sighed dreamily. "Man, even her name is pretty." She smiled, somewhat spaced out as she looked at the horse again.
When he introduced himself, Elizabeth decided then and there that she was most definitely comfortable around him enough to call him Cyril even in front of students. But out of respect and already much love for the man and his obvious mutual love for the creatures in front of them, Elizabeth would definitely call him Mr. Mr. Cyril Sir.
"Would I ever." She scoffed teasingly, stepping aside so Cyril could open the gate. No sooner had the latch left its original position did Elizabeth move to enter the stall. She knew enough about horses to not startle them. Despite having squealed aplenty before.
"Hey, beautiful." Elizabeth's tone was soft as she moved to the horse's side. The horse didn't react as she reached a hand out, letting her sniff at it. But when she turned her head to Elizabeth's hand, she started to stroke Heiress' neck. "There you go. You're so beautiful." She sighed, letting her hand really feel how incredibly soft the horse was.
"Man, I am seriously going to love her with every fiber of my being."

Cyril gave a small chuckle at how Liz was basically in love with the horse, which was super good news in his mind. It was important that a student really did like a horse, even if it was based upon looks and a name. He was sure that the two were still going to get along great since Liz kept giving Heiress complements, which the horse loved, since she was an amazing horse after all. Liz was quick to go into the stall, but Cyril noted that she did actually move at an appropriate speed at to not startle the horse. That was good, very good. So she at least had to have a basic understanding of horses if she knew that at least. Some people just seemed to like to bolt and make quick movements when they were excited. Liz however was having pretty good control over herself, even if she did let out a squeal, but so did Cyril.
Heiress gave Liz's hand a good sniff before standing tall and showing off her elegance and full body. Cyril could not help but to give a small eye roll at seeing how Heiress was showing off her best for Liz. Such a diva. Cyril thought to himself, but he still enjoyed every moment of this. Having Heiress halter in hand and moving to slip in on over her head and buckle it. He was doing this with all the new members of the club. They would meet, confirm their choice, pet, and then Cyril would have them walk them around. It was the start of forming a bond. It made him think of the movie Avatar. Where you had to first make the bond before you could just go off and fly. With the horses you had to make the bond, learn how to take care of them, and then you could ride them.
"I can almost see you as a princess with her horse when you two are next to each other. This is going to be great." Cyril said as the big smile appeared back on his face, double checking to make sure the halter was on right before clipping the lead rope to it. "Have you ever walked a horse before?" Cyril asked, already ready to teach and have Liz end up doing it on her own. If she was going to be taking care of Heiress then she needed to know how to walk her for sure. Since Heiress was the type that liked to be escorted out to pasture and back in. She was after all, a horse with high standards, but she was always up for being ridden so long as the person working with her was not a complete idiot and would harm her in anyway.

Chuckling at the way Heiress showed herself off, Elizabeth continued to whisper small compliments as she let her hand wander over the horse's body.
At Cyril's statement, Elizabeth tossed her hair back and held her head up high. "I am absolutely a princess with my horse thank you." She said with a grin, dropping her act almost immediately and shaking her head in amusement.
"I have." She nodded in response to Cyril's question. "A few times before. But those were just like those tourist attractions kind of thing. My dad always chose our vacation spots based on whether they have horse back riding listed as their activities." Elizabeth explained with a small chuckle.
"Are we bringing her out now?" She asked in excitement.

Liz might as well just sign her name over in blood to Heiress now with all the complements the girl was giving her. Heiress liked her and was perfectly fine having her around. He voice was lovely, she smelled nice, and she said the most wonderful things. Cyril could practically hear Heiress going 'yes, this human is very nice. She may remain in my presence'. Granted horses could not talk and even if they could Cyril did not speak horse so that was all in his head, but he could picture it. The way Liz reacted to his words about him almost seeing her as a princess. There was a hair flick and even Heiress gave a small toss of her main as if in agreement with Liz. Cyril put his hands up still chuckling a little, almost laughing now at just the pair of them. "I'm sorry your royal Heirness." Cyril said on purpose because he was big on puns and figured Liz would get that he just combined the horses name with highness which would be what he would call a princess or even a queen.
She was adorable and he was have tempted to ruffle her hair, which was not really something you did to girl, but it was tempting. He was pretty sure the last time he ruffled a girl's hair his hand got smacked because he was messing it up. He did not mean to, it was more of a 'awww, you are so cute' kind of hair ruffle. Not 'hah, your hair shall be a mess ruffle'. She had walked horses and he was also going to assume that she had ridden them as well. He was still going to run her through the normal test to make sure she still had the skills or at least remembered them enough that he would not have to worry about her hurting herself. "Good. Then I would like you to lead her out of her stall so we can take a nice little walk." Cyril responded as he held out the lead rope to her. Watching to make sure she would walk on the horses let side and that she did not let the rope touch the ground.

Elizabeth made a sound that was a cross between a snort and a giggle at Cyril's pun, shaking her head and turning to Heiress like she understood what was being said.
"I think your dad's got a screw loose up there somewhere, gorgeous." She teased, looking at Cyril in the corner of her eye with a cheeky grin.
Almost naturally, she bunched the reins up in one hand and eased back by the horse's left shoulder, stroking it lightly before she started to walk, hopeful that it was enough to trigger the horse to move out of the stall and start walking.
When Heiress started walking, Elizabeth grinned widely and they walked in tandem, with Elizabeth continuing her whispered praises.
"So how long have you been the stable hand?" She peeked under Heiress' head to look at Cyril.

She made a sound at his pun, a snort and a giggle perhaps, which was not a bad sound to hear when you made a pun. That was a good sound. A sound that could mean that she found it a tad bit funny or that it was so stupid that she could not help but to let out a small chuckle over it. She referred to him as Heiress’s father which he was used to being tied in as a father like role to the animals he cared for and he did not really mind it. In his head however Cyril felt like Heiress would be all ‘how dare you suggest that that blonde man could be a regal as me’. Cyril’s imagination seemed to be taking over him, which was not all that bad and he was getting a nice mental chuckle about it. “All my screws are nice and tight little filly.” Cyril said in a playful manner, not taking any offence at all. He was actually pleased that she was having fun with him and that she was comfortable to do so already.
His blue eyes watched her closely as she bunched up the reins and moved to be on the left side of the horse. She was doing everything right and Cyril was pleased that it seemed like many of his members were going to be able to get right to the ridding sooner than he had expected. They all seemed to have some kind of experience which made his job easier and also meant they could get to the best part, which was ridding. Still every part of working with horses was enjoyable to him, even the whole cleaning up poop, but there was something about being on the back of a horse and just going out for a ride that was truly enjoyable. Liz took charge and led Heiress out of her stall, and Heiress followed like the well trained horse that she was and Liz was showing that she actually knew what she was doing. If a person could prove that to a horse they would obey depending on their personality, but even a horse knew when someone knew if they were doing something right.
Cyril waited for a moment until they both were out of the stall before he would follow behind, closing the stall door, but not locking it. He moved to walk on the other side of Heiress so they could get outside the stables and have a small little walk around. They would not go too far, just a little walk around the stables so Cyril could knock a tour while they were walking. There was a question that has Cyril scratching at his stubble of a beard. “Here at the school, only recently. I have veterinarian license with both small and large animals and have worked with horses along with many other animals for years. Outside of the school I helped out on a small ranch of ponies and have worked with larger horses before, but this is the first for this type of job.” Cyril explained as he moved to slide his hands into his pockets. “How long have you been around horses?” Cyril asked her in return since she had said that her father took her places where there were horses so she had to have had ridding experience.

"I am so not little." Elizabeth shook her head with a chuckle. Briefly, she she thanked whoever was listening for making this guy the advisor for the Equestrian Club. She couldn't have asked for a better one.
"Wait," she peeked once more under Heiress' head, her eyebrows raised in shock. "Does that mean you're a vet?" She asked before pondering over the question posed to her. "Uh...well not too long. We don't go on vacations every year but when we do, that's when I get to ride one. The first time was stupid scary but after getting down, I couldn't wait to get back up again." She chuckled, ruffling the back of her head.
"Where I live, there're not many farms or ranches around but there's a lot of land and I always wanted to ask my dad to get us a horse so we could just ride around. So vacations were the only time he could afford to spoil us." She smiled affectionately, missing her dad all of a sudden.
"Did you grow up around horses?" They were out of the stables by then and reaching the pasture.
