Zoe smiled as Devyn gave way, and she kept that smile as her girlfriend took her hand, threading fingers through hers. Zoe shifted the grip so that she could thread her fingers through Devyn's, feeling them interlocking with one another. The glove kept the skin separate, but the leather was thin enough that Zoe could still feel the head coming from Devyn's hand, the natural warmth that the other girl possessed simply by being. It was enough to make Zoe sigh in contentment, a sigh which felt all the deeper when Devyn reached down and lovingly stroked Zoe's back. Zoe moved just a little closer at that, not wanting to make Devyn stretch, and naturally wanting to get just a little closer to the lovely girl who was her significant other.
More promises, and Devyn moved her hand to match Zoe's, willingly entangling at least some portion of their anatomy. Strange how natural that felt now, as though they'd somehow been designed to intertwine with one another. Devyn offered further entanglement, suggesting that Zoe move up for a better embrace. Zoe felt another little snuggle of warmth spreading throughout her, one that had less to do with the warmth of their earlier caresses and more to do with a safe, loving feeling. It was tempting; Zoe loved being in Devyn's arms, but there was something unique about this moment. Zoe loved unique moments, especially when they lined up so perfectly a this. She curled up, pulling her legs so that she formed something of a protective "C" about the prone Devyn.
"I promise," she whispered as she saw Devyn's eyelids flutter. A light squeeze, and Zoe brought the hand up to just brush against her lips. She then moved to remove her hat, setting it beside them. Zoe wasn't sure how long she laid there, still awake, watching her girlfriend fall into a light slumber in the sun. Eventually though, the peace of it all sank into Zoe, and her own eyes closed, slumber overtaking her. The sun would shine down on a pair of curled girls sleeping at the edge of a wooded path, the animals moving about as though accepting the near-fairy tale scene as simply being a part of their world.
