He didn't respond. He ignored her statement. Rebekka felt her grin reach her ears. She'd been right! Not that she'd doubted herself. For the short time they knew each other, Rebekka knew Andrew well enough. Or at least his type. It made hims little predictable. Although that didn't take away from the fun. Some of his response were different. Much like his next one.
Rebekka stared. Had that been a joke? A joke from him? Had Andrew actually grown a sense of humor? She scrutinized. She doubted. But she still had an awed little smile on her face. The fact he'd actually responded as such gave her more satisfaction than it should have. And had that been the twitch of a smile not seconds before he spoke? Rebekka didn't know but she was definitely taking that as a victory. "Was that a joke? Careful Corbin, surprises like that might give me a heart attack." She returned. "And does that mean you're calling me ugly?"

His silence made her happier. her grin wider. His curiosity greater. Yet his irritation worse. This time she didn't speak. Didn't comment. Didn't jab. But her expression was already enough of a stab. Still she was somehow enjoying this. Quickly he was starting to see she was more than a little sadistic. Or at least she was that way with him.
She stared at him. Seeming disbelieving. In shock. or awe? She was still smiling. Yet she seemed surprised. Had his reply been that different? Apparently so. That or a joke as she said. And stunning enough to give her a heart attack. His lips twitched again. But he still did not smile. She asked a question. Was he calling her ugly? He had the feeling it wasn't a true question. Admittedly she was what most could call attractive. But he wouldn't say that. "I never said that."

He looked confused. Why, Rebekka had no idea. Not that she really cared. His lips twitched again. Clearly she was getting to him. Maybe even positively? He didn't reply to her joke. She took that as comfirmation. It was likely the only thing she'd get. or at least the closest he'd give her. He did reply to her question, although it evaded it altogether. It was also technically true. Which made Rebekka scoff.
"Never said doesn't mean it's not implied." She countered before taking another drag. Strangely enough, she felt good. Their conversation had started other with only her jabbing. But now Andrew seemed to actually be responding. It was a nice change of pace. And unexpected. Which she truthfully liked. "Didn't your mama teach you that?"

She scoffed. Said he was implying it. Although he knew that wasn't the case. it was likely she knew that as well. She was just messing with him again. Prodding. It was a game. A game he didn't want to be in. Yet he didn't seem to have much of a choice. She was adding him in. Whether he liked it or not.
She asked him a question. Didn't his mom teach him that? Andrew stayed silent. Took a long drag. Let it out. "Never met her." He stated. It was the truth. He didn't care though. She'd disappeared before he could even meet her. Why should he care? It was done. It was over. Andrew had already moved on long ago.

He didn't respond. She wasn't surprised. Besides, she knew it wasn't true. Yet he surprised her with his next response. He'd never met his mother. He didn't seemed fazed. Didn't seem to care at all. Although that seemed like his default expression more than anything. Still, Rebekka thought. She regarded him silently. Evaluated his features.
"Well that's too bad." What else was she to say to something like that? Rebekka didn't have enough sympathy to start weeping and crying with him. But at the same time she liked to think she had some shred of a heart floating around in her chest. She wasn't sure where it was, but it was there. She went silent. Took another drag. Then glanced at Andrew. "So I'm guessing your dad raised you?"
