The roof again. Alone again. Andrew sighed and took a seat near the edge. No one else was up there. The encounter with the blonde girl might've been a rare occurrence. Andrew certainly hoped so. It hadn't been bad. But he wanted to stay by himself before heading off for class. He pulled a pack from his pocket and lit a cigarette up.
He was relaxed. Content. A rare feeling for him to feel. Unless his routine was undisturbed. His day's outcome clear. Surprise free. Without interference. Which was exactly how his day was going so far. Andrew took a long drag and exhaled. He was actually enjoying himself. Staring up at the sky. Quiet. Perfect.

"Well look who it is." Her voice was sardonic. Taunting him. She got a kick out of it. Especially with him. Which was why she didn't care to ask. She walked over and sat down next to him. A smug smirk firmly in place. He was smoking. Somehow that didn't surprise her. She'd smelled the scent on him the first time. And he was the one with hyper senses. Although the smell was familiar now. Almost comforting even.
She took out her own pack. She didn't need a light. She was one. With a small huff of flame, she put the cigarette to her lips. Took a drag, and exhaled slowly. Then she looked at him. The smirk was still on her face. Filled with mocking. "We meet again, Corbin." She knew he wouldn't be happy to see her. It made her smirk widen. He was cool, collected. The perfect person to entertain her.

There was a voice. A familiar one. Unfortunately. A frown formed on his face. Annoyance flashed through him. He knew his perfect moment was gone. Shattered. All due to her. She sat beside him. Didn't even ask. She was smirking too. The expression pricked his skin. Like a sharp pin. Annoying.
"What do you want?" He knew the answer. Or could guess. She was here for him. Whether she'd intentionally looked for him or not, Andrew didn't know. But what he did know was that now he had to deal with her. He hoped she would get bored. Yet he doubted. Her smirk widened. He forced his attention towards the sky. Tried to ignore her.

She could see the irritation in his eyes. Notice the way he tensed. It brought her glee. He asked what she wanted. She hummed, as if thinking. She hadn't meant to find him. Now that she had, her intent should be obvious. Even to him. "To spend some time with my dear friend Corbin." She replied. Another jab in his side. They weren't friends. She knew the fact. But neither of them had left yet, so that spoke for something.
He tried looking away from her. Did he think ignoring her would work? She chuckled and blew smoke into the air. "What, giving me the cold shoulder?" She asked with a playful tone. She pouted. It felt comical on her face. But she knew it would irritate him further. "Am I cutting into brooding time?" He seemed the type to brood. Like a certain bat themed vigilante. However she doubted he cared enough to save people.

She answered. Spending time with a friend? Andrew's frown grew. How did she always manage to get under his skin? "We aren't friends." They weren't. They never would be. He was sure of it. And yet he wasn't leaving. For all her irritation. All her interruptions. All the prickly anger she brought out of him, Andrew wasn't leaving. Why?
Instead he tried to ignore her. She chuckled. As if it were a game. As if he'd amused her. Andrew wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. He didn't care too much, if at all. She asked him a question. One she knew the answer to. Then came another question. Was she cutting into his brooding? Andrew's eyes darted towards her. They were narrowed. Peeved slits. What did she want? "I don't brood."

The deeper his frown, the greater her smirk. He insisted they weren't friends. She knew that to be true. But she wasn't sure what else they were. Enemies? He never really did anything to piss her off. She enjoyed getting a reaction from him. Evoking an emotion in his otherwise stoic face. The fact that she could do that made her happy. Having that ability to dig under his skin., like a nice little dagger.
A sense of triumph came when he looked at her. She'd won, in a way. Even as he was trying, she was still grabbing his attention. It didn't seem like he wanted that. That only encouraged her further. "Actually, you do." She replied. She took a drag before pointing with her cigarette. "You ever see your face? It's literally made for it." The way he always seemed so serious. Always cool and collected. It was why she enjoying making jabs at him. He was too easy a target for her.

The smirk only increased. As did his temptation to walk away. Still, he didn't. Maybe it was a vain hope she'd leave? Or maybe a stubborn desire to remain in a place he first came to. Andrew wasn't sure, but he definitely wanted to know the answer. Why this girl had such an ability to aggravate him.
She looked triumphant. Andrew wasn't sure why. Yet he knew he wasn't happy about it. She was too smug. Normally he wouldn't care. But he found himself paying attention to the detail. To her. To her response. The way she pointed at him. Insisted he had a face from brooding. His glare in turn became more intense. He turned his head towards her. "Don't you have better things to do?" It was a slim chance she'd actually care. Even more so that she'd actually leave.

He seemed more irritated. More annoyed. She noticed he was still paying attention. Still giving her an audience. He didn't get it, did he? Or maybe he did, but couldn't do anything against it. Although he could. But he was still here. Which still gave her a reason to be there too. So she grinned toothily. Took every ounce of entertainment she could get from their little interaction.
He turned his head towards her. Giving her his full attention. Yet another win Rebekka gladly took. She held his intense gaze, slowly taking a drag before blowing the smoke out. It wasn't directly in his face, but close enough. Finally he asked her if she had better things to do. Rebekka laughed at him and shook her head. "It's my break, so no. Besides, I'd rather keep my good pal company." It oozed sarcasm. But also brought a question to her head. "Don't you get irritated by the smoke?" It was completely related. Or at least the connections were clear for Rebekka's mind.

Now she grinned. Which was somehow worse than her smirk. Andrew ignored it. Or as much as he could. He focused on her eyes. Surprisingly, she held his. Most would avoid it. Yet here she was. It was different. Interesting. It almost subdued his irritation. Almost. Until she exhaled smoke in his face. He leaned back, his frown twitching.
She was on break. She wanted to keep him company. Andrew stared at her. She insisted they were friends again. Andrew didn't comment. He knew the answer, and so did she. Yet then she posed a question. Didn't the smoke irritate him? His brow furrowed at the sudden question. He didn't know where she pulled that from. Maybe when she'd blown it in her face. "I'm used to it now." It had irritated him initially. Yet now he hardly noticed.

He didn't reply to hers. The fact he choose not to was enough for her. She smirked and looked back at the sky. She still wasn't sure what he was. Plaything was probably the closest. What she was to him, Rebekka could only guess. She assumed it was closer to an enemy. That or at least someone he would try his best to avoid. Rebekka would in his shoes. But again that brought her back to one point. He still hadn't left.
Interestingly enough, he answered her question. She arched a brow. It did make sense. Still, that meant he'd have to experience it long enough. Rebekka still wasn't fond of it. She just tolerated it. Which is why she inhaled again. "How long have you been smoking then, Corbin? You don't seem like a frequent kind of guy." He really didn't. Rebekka had seen frequent smokers.

She raised a brow. Somehow he'd made her curious. Or at least that's what he drew from her expression. He had no idea what she was thinking. She asked another question. How long had he been smoking? According to her, he didn't seem frequent. Again, she surprised him. For a few reason however.
"A few years, but you're right. I don't need to smoke, and can stop whenever I want." He answered. Her question was almost innocent. It reminded him of Callie. Yet he knew Rebekka was far different from the blonde girl. Callie had spoken to him out of kindness. While she was here merely to annoy him. Which was why the question was interesting. She wasn't prodding him. "You?" He was curious to hear her answer. If she even would.

A few years then. It was a vague answer, but she would take it. From her guess, he was probably around 23 or so. So it shouldn't have been that many years. Unless of course he'd started earlier than legal age. Which was a territory she wasn't looking to get into. Not yet. She smirked at the last bit. "If I had a dime for every time I heard an addict say that..." She snickered. The words were far too common to her ears.
Interestingly enough, he returned the question. She glanced over at him. Regarded him for a bit. "Same as you, I'd imagine." She responded. "Only longer since I'm older." It pretty much went without saying. But she said it anyways. Somehow the tone had changed. They were asking enough other questions. She expected him to spit in her face. Well not really, but more along the lines of silent glaring. "So why haven't you left yet, Corbin?" It was blunt. She didn't care.

There. That was what he was used to. Not this odd calm he'd for some reason returned. it was another jab that made him frown once more. "It's the truth." He stated. "I'm not an addict." It was fact. If he wanted he could stop. He had more than enough self control to do something like that. It was solely for the routine. The motion. Nothing else.
She'd been much the same as he. Somehow they shared a similarity. That surprised Andrew well enough to show. Not so much what they shared, but the fact he could find himself relating to her. How could he? After their first encounter, Andrew had been certain he didn't want to find her again. yet here she was. Asking the very same question he was asking himself. Why hadn't he left yet? He tried to think. Find a reason. An explanation. Yet he couldn't. "...I don't know."

She'd managed to aggravate him once again. It brought a smile to her face. Especially as he insisted he was no addict. Funnily enough, she believed him. But it was far too much fun for her to poke fun at it. "Lots of addicts claim that. It's called denial, Corbin." She grinned as she said it. Mocking him again. He likely knew she knew it was true. She bet he'd ignore the statement. Move on as if she hadn't spoken.
There was surprise on his face, which in turn surprised her. That wasn't an emotion she'd managed to drag out of him yet. it only made her more determined to try for it. But most of all, she was shocked by his reply. He didn't know. He'd actually admitted that. Rebekka looked over at him. Scrutinized him closely. She had no reason to believe he was toying with her. This was genuine. Something she was unused to. "It's probably my animal magnetism, or my charming personality." She joked, grinning widely.

Again she mentioned him being an addict. Called it denial. She was grinning. He could see the mockery in her eyes. She was baiting him again. He frowned and didn't respond. Instead he looked up at the sky again and sighed through his nose. He ignored the comment. Arguing further wouldn't do anything. He'd learned that much from their interaction.
She seemed surprised too. Andrew wasn't sure why. She looked at him. Searched for something. Andrew started back. Then she joked. Then she grinned. Andrew stared for a bit. His lips twitched. Did he just smile? No. Not towards her, had he? Yet somehow he didn't mind her response as much. That wasn't much improvement. "It can't be since you have neither." He returned.
