Heather had not taken it personally when Jack moved out, she knew that sometimes people just needed space after something like he'd been through. The worst part in all of it as far as she was concerned is that he'd been through one of those break ups that wasn't really anybodies fault. In her experience, at least, people tended to deal with it better if they could lay the blame on someone.
She hadn't really spoken to him much since Oneyka had left. And she had now decided it was about time that she changed that. She obviously didn't feel quite the same way about the situation that Jack did, but she did miss her best friend dearly. And she did know how he felt, how could she not? It wasn't like she was able to turn off her ability. One of the benefits and drawbacks of having empathy.
The small redhead stood outside of his door, feeling gentle emotions inside. So he was either asleep, or weirdly calm. She took a breath in to prepare herself and knocked very gently on the door. No answer. She knocked again with slightly more force and the door gently slid open. Well, he had not locked his front door. That was silly.
She moved over to the figure slumped in a heap on the sofa. "Jack." She gently called out as she approached. The redhead tapped the head gently on the shoulder. "Jack, wake up." Her voice was soft, but firm.
