Want a Joint? It'll Cost You (Pierce)

Roman knew it was probably a bad idea to be smoking a joint out in the open where anyone could see him, but frankly he didn't really care.  He had a reputation and an intimidating face to match, so most people just let him do his business and didn't mess with him.  It helped that most of the people living in this complex were more open-minded college students anyway - more than once he'd had someone ask if they could have a joint themselves, if they picked up the nerve.

He was feeling very calm and relaxed as he finished off the roll, leaning back on the bench he sat upon in the grassy area behind the complex, which was fenced off from the street nearby.  It was still cool outside, and so he had the place pretty much to himself.  He had on his typical form-fitting tanktop and jeans, but at least had had the sense to put a jacket on over the top of it.

He took another hit and sighed contentedly, closing his eyes as he basked in the feeling of being high.  This shit was expensive, but damn, was it worth it.

It hadn't been too long since what he considered a reinforcement of his loner nature. If all social interaction turned out like it had then, he definitely wanted nothing to do with it. They'd never exchanged names but just knowing he knew where he lived kind of irked him.... Though, he had been kind of fun to mess with, even if he called him cute and was constantly making crude remarks. He was snide and rude and took his insults rather well. Maybe he'd been less resentful if it wasn't for the whole trying to eat him thing, that really dampened his opinion.

He caught sight of the person as he approached the apartment complex, eyes narrowing on his form and deciding the best option. On one hand he hated people, but on the other Pierce could tell he was smoking something, and whatever it was sounded good right about now. Eventually, he trudged over to the older man.

"If I come over here are you gonna go psycho and try to eat me this time?" he asked staying a bit away but definitely interested when he realized it had been a joint in his hand.

Roman looked back on that interaction with the younger boy with both amusement and embarrassment. Amusement because of everything that had happened between them up until the point that he…. Well, suggested that Pierce could be lunch. He couldn’t help it after he’d caught the boy’s scent so strongly, but it was still embarrassing, even if he wouldn’t admit it. He was just glad that Hoon had come in when he had, because who knew what would’ve happened if he hadn’t?

He’d considered going over to the boy’s – whose name he realized he still didn’t know – apartment at some point, at least to ask how he liked the wine, but didn’t want to seem desperate to see him again (because he wasn’t, even if the kid was really cute and totally his type). So when he caught sight of said person across the way when he opened his eyes at Pierce’s voice, he grinned lazily and let out a short chuckle.

“No… Of course not…” he said, his voice low and slow. “That won’t happen again. Promise.” Roman was a much different person when he was intoxicated to some degree, and marijuana tended to mellow him out more than anything else. He patted the bench beside himself. “I might even let you have one if you want, hot stuff. As an… apology for my behavior last time.” He chuckled and rolled his head against the bench. “I still don’t know your name, you know. I don’t think I ever offered mine either.”

Pierce took a seat, hesitant on how to feel about the difference in his demeanor. Well, he knew he didn't trust it and it was probably thanks to the smoking roll between his fingers. His head inclined a small smile touched his lips, more teasing in nature than holding any sweetness.

Hot stuff? He snorted in amusement but did not question the high man, especially once it was generously offered to him. "Yeah? Mmmm, I accept." Pierce stood up again, grabbing the backpack he had set down before nodding his head in the direction of the building. "Let's go up to my place, though. I don't like hanging around outside."

He grinned, contemplating on avoiding the question but deciding to just answer it since he was sharing with him. "Pierce, and what about you? I've just been calling you pervert, asshole, and a waste of space in my head."

It was definitely the weed that was making Roman a lot more relaxed and less… jerk-ish than he had been before. But hey, he liked the stuff – it relaxed him and helped push away any unpleasant thoughts that he got in his head on a regular basis due to his shitty traumatic childhood.

He grinned as the boy accepted his offer, although Roman had anticipated that he would. He just… Seemed the type. “Mmm… I won’t make you pay for the first one, but shit’s expensive, so after that I can’t afford to let you bum them off me all the time, yeah?” And he was only giving him the one for free because he was in a giving mood. And the kid looked seriously cute out here in the daylight. Or maybe his vision was just weird. Whatever… “Ah… Alright. Cool.” Roman slowly got to his feet, tossing the joint into a nearby trash can now that it was finished, and followed after the shorter boy with a visibly relaxed gait.

“Pierce? Nice. Never would’ve guessed that.” It was such a sharp name, and the kid was so… soft-looking. But whatever, he wouldn’t judge. “Roman,” he replied, and let out a long, low chuckle at the names. “Fair enough. But… You’ve been thinking about me, huh? ‘Cause I’ve been thinking about you too.” He grinned. “I didn’t wanna bother you, though, even though I know where you live, ‘cause I’m a nice guy like that. Figured you’d just come back when you wanted more wine.”

If Roman had spoken his thought allowed Pierce wouldn't know how he felt about 'seeming the type', he usually didn't like for people to assume things about him. In fact, it made him angry, though most things did. He certainly didn't have the same reasons for affinity, he had very few traumatic memories at least known that weren't based around his sexuality of effeminate looks. But he dealt with those issues with anger and general bitterness.


"How sweet of you," he smirked, he didn't actually mind paying for it. It would be easier to buy from him than who he usually did, plus he could get his booze from him. Two birds, one stone. Pierce waited for a beat but started to walk before Roman was fully ready to move, but he should know where he was going so whatever. He shrugged at the comment of his name, "I think it's a bit stupid," he snorted, "but I guess I could be named Roman. That's a really fucking dumb name." Pierce grinned over his shoulder at his companion. "Sounds like some big, dumb, ugly brute."


Roman seemed prone to ramble a bit or at least to kiss ass when he was high, he was obviously seeking some praise for not being a stalker after all. "Thanks," sarcasm dripping from the word, "and I might not have considering I almost got eaten." He wasn't living that one down anytime soon.

Roman grinned dopily at Pierce’s reply. “I’m a sweet guy,” he replied happily. “At least when I’m high. Ehehe, that rhymed… Didn’t mean to.” Ohoho, he was so clever, and far too easily amused with himself. He was someone that at least several of his ‘friends’ (mostly acquaintances, really) came to when they needed a hit or drink, and Roman didn’t mind being that person. Most of it was legal, and he hadn’t been caught yet. “Heyyy~ Too fast,” he complained as Pierce didn’t wait for him. “I’m old and slow.” Roman giggled a bit at this, but managed to catch up with his long legs. “Heyyy,” he said again as the kid made fun of his name. “Not like I chose it. Besides, I am a big, ugly brute, aren’t I?” Roman left out the dumb part though, because he was not dumb. “So it suits me.” He finished this with a self-deprecating smile.

He didn’t really realize he was rambling, but that tended to happen when he was feeling pretty good. He kept following the younger boy towards his apartment, smiling dumbly the whole way. “I wouldn’t have really eaten you,” he promised with a small sigh. “The worst I probably would’ve done was give you a nip or something. The same thing happened with Hoon, and he’s still kicking, right?” He leaned against the wall once they reached Pierce’s door and waited to be let inside, fingering around inside his pocket until he found another joint. “This one’s all you,” he offered.

The look he gave Roman was one of disbelief, "Sure," he predicted he'd be using a lot of sarcasm with this guy, "You're the sweetest guy I know, next to me." Which, of course, wasn't true. Neither of them were very sweet, which was fine. Sweetness got annoying, especially when people tried too hard to be sweet to him. An amused smirk came at the man's high antics, eyebrows arching in a way that showed he was fairly entertained by him. "Look at you, a poet and you didn't know it," it was a familiar and overused rhyme but it fit and it was humorous.

"Your legs are longer than mine," he huffed at his complaint of him moving too fast, and gave him an 'I told you so' look when he easily caught up with him. "I didn't pick mine either, I guess we just got the short end of the stick on that." He grinned over at Roman, "Oh definitely, but you really shouldn't leave off dumb, it's a pretty big facet of your gross personality. Right there with pervert."

Pierce unlocked the door to his apartment, scoffing and rolling his eyes as he pushed it open, "Just a nip or not, I did /not/ appreciate it." He walked in and held the door open long enough for Roman to come in, shutting it and plucking the joint from his fingers. "Thanks... I usually smoke in my bed room," where there was no smoke alarm, "so don't be weird or gross like I know your pre-evolution instincts are pushing you to."

He led him through the sparsely decorated apartment and to the furthest of the three other doors in the place. It led to his still rather bland bedroom, a large bed with plain sheets and a rather impressive desk space in the corner.

Roman chuckled good-naturedly at Pierce’s sarcasm. “I’m glad,” he replied, still with that stupid grin. Man, whatever strain had been in that joint sure was a strong one. He usually at least acted more mellow whenever he smoked the stuff, but it didn’t always make him this silly. “Hey! So are you!” he laughed, bumping his shoulder against the younger boy’s. “We should write poetry together.” As if he had any skill in that whatsoever.

“I bet your legs are prettier than mine, though,” Roman retorted. Just like the rest of Pierce, sooo pretty. He had a hard time believing how much the other boy was his type, actually. The dark hair, the blue eyes, fair skin and petite figure… Hoon was pretty too, but if Roman could choose, it would be Pierce. Sorry Hoon. “Yup, I guess so. And… hey! You don’t know that, I’m very smart. Although admittedly a pervert.” Instead of leering like he usually would, however, the older man just took a quick glance at Pierce’s butt and then grinned up at him.

“I told you I was sorry,” he pouted. With a free joint and everything! “It won’t happen again. It just took me by surprise is all. I can still smell it, but it’s not so bad.” Or maybe his senses were just dulled at the moment. Roman rose his brows at the mention of bedroom, and smiled lazily with a shake of his head. “’Course I won’t try anything. I just wanna lay down and veg.”

He followed Pierce into the room, looking around only briefly before doing just as he said – plopping down on the bed and staring up at the ceiling. Roman made sure to leave enough space beside him if the other boy wanted to lie down too. “So… You got a boyfriend or anything?” he asked, innocently enough.

Pierce snorted, a little off balance at Roman's bump against his shoulder, "No, thanks, you'll probably write a shit poem about sex and I won't nothing to do with it. I don't even like poetry." Plus, he still wasn't entirely sure he wanted to be spending any extra time with the other man, that was still up for much debate. Though, if he kept providing stuff like this for him it would definitely help win him over.

He hadn't quite called him pretty, but he still narrowed his eyes at him, deciding whether or not to get angry. "They're pale and freckled, so I doubt it." Thin as sticks too. Pierce snickered at his protests humming as if he was actually considering what he was saying, "You've done nothing to prove that so far." He hit the other man when he saw his glance, not holding back because it was still a light hit compared to what others could do.


"Yeah, but I'm still traumatized," he sniffed, smiling and holding up the mentioned joint, "but I do appreciate the gift, we'll just see how forgiving I am after this." No matter what he said, Pierce did not quite believe the man, though he supposed he could rely on the fact that he was blissed the fuck out and hope that kept him from trying anything that required movement.


PIerce dug around in his bedside table for a lighter before sitting on his bed, scooting to rest his back against the headboard and grinning at his question before lighting up the joint gifted to him. After the first inhale he leaned his head back humming in pleasure as he exhaled. After a pause he finally answered him, "Why, you wanting to ask me out?"

“Mmm…. You’re probably right,” Roman admitted with a small chuckle. “But you’re also no fun. Wait… I don’t like poetry either.” He said this last bit as though he had forgotten that fact until this moment. Poetry was stupid. He’d much rather drink or smoke or some shit in his free time, and if that made this pretty boy stick around, well, even better.

“I like pale skin and freckles,” Roman retorted. “Because I don’t have either.” His skin was pretty tanned, thanks to his heritage as well as growing up in the Los Angeles sun, and the only marks he had were a few small whiteheads on his jaw and shoulders. Not so pretty. At least he did have nice musculature. “Owww,” he pretended to groan as Pierce hit him, pouting and rubbing the ‘wounded’ area. “So violent for such a small person. I’m only looking.”

He frowned at what Pierce said next. “Are you really? Why are you even talking to me, then?” Oh, right, only because he was offering goods. “I guess we will.” But it was true, Roman really wouldn’t try anything when he was like this, he felt good and just being around the attractive boy was satisfying enough for him for now.

His body felt like it was sinking into the bed, and Roman hummed contentedly, eyes half-closing as he enjoyed the sensations. He only looked over when he caught the scent of Piece lighting up, and smiled. “Nah, just wanna make sure I’m not gonna have some big guy coming after the pervert for being in your bedroom,” he replied, jabbing his thumb at himself. “Not… that I’m gonna try anything. Because I’m not. Your bed is really comfy.” Roman stretched and folded his arms behind his head, smacking his lips together. “What do you think? Nice flavor, huh?” he asked, glancing at the younger boy again. "I think the guy said it's bubba kush."

Yet another roll of his eyes, but it was obvious he was somewhat enjoying himself. The man was entertaining at least. "You're right I'm not fun at all, I am the anti-fun." And yes, it was likely the drugs and alcohol would keep Pierce around even if he discovered he actually hated this man more than he hated the fact that he couldn't feasibly have sleeping as a career.

"Ugh, fine take them please, I hate it. I burn if I even think of the sun and then more of them pop up." His mother had fair skin as well, but so far he seemed the only family member cursed with having hundreds of the little things all over him. "Well, stop looking. It's irritating, I don't want to have to be concerned about you molesting me with your eyes every ten seconds."

Pierce shook his head sighing, "No, not really you imbecile. The only reason I talked to you to begin with was for booze and now you're offering weed, why don't you take a guess as to what keeps me around." He hummed in amusement over his worry, "No big guys just an ex, who's not very buff or much in a fight. You should be more worried about what I'll do if you act like a pervert."

He sat, smoking quietly, sighing and humming his appreciation. Roman's presence was remembered at his question, "Hm? Yeah, it's really nice," he exhaled a stream of smoke and examined the joint, "I've heard the name before never tried it though. I like it." He offered it over to Roman aware that as it was with alcohol, it did not take him much. He giggled lightly before sinking down his bed to lay his head on the pillows, "Yep, this is good. I love being high."

“Maybe once you get some weed in your system that will change,” Roman suggested, hoping that Pierce would loosen up a little once he was high. After all, he himself was one of the most uptight and unlikeable people he knew when he was sober, so surely if he acted like this while intoxicated, Pierce would too.

“Really?” he snickered, amused by Pierce’s plight. “Poor thing. I’m from California, so I tan nicely.” Freckles probably wouldn’t suit him anyway. Scars, on the other hand… “I can’t help it,” he pouted. “You’re the nicest thing around to look at, and you’re totally my type. It’s not like it’s hurting you.” At least Roman wasn’t trying to grope him or feel him up. He would understand if Pierce didn’t like that. He should be flattered!

He pretended to sigh dejectedly. “Ahh… so you really only do like me for my providing you with illegal substances…” He wasn’t really surprised, Pierce had made it pretty obvious, after all. Roman would have to do other things to impress the boy! But… not now, when he was so comfortable in this bed. “Mmmm, an ex, huh? Sounds like I could take him if I needed to. But you, on the other hand… I’ll try not to get on your bad side.” He stuck out his tongue in Pierce’s direction. “I’m being good! See? I’m keeping my hands to myself.” He wiggled his arms, which were still folded under his head.

“The guy I buy from has some sort of great connections, I guess. He gets all kind of good shit.” Roman gladly took the joint and breathed in another hit, tilting his head in curiosity. “Know your limit, huh? That’s good, I wouldn’t want you to get all too high and freaked out.” Roman handed it back to him after a few moments and rolled over onto his side so he was looking at the boy. “Mmmm, me tooo~” he hummed. “And even though I can’t touch you, it still got me in your bed, so that’s a definite bonus.” Roman gave Pierce a stupid grin.

It likely would, Pierce was a different person entirely when intoxicated, one of the reasons he didn't typically indulge around other people. But he supposed he could make an exception when it meant not having to pay for it. "Good for you. I'm from North Carolina," he offered, being somewhat agreeable for the moment. It didn't last long, and he scoffed at his compliment, "Honestly, your flattery will get you nowhere with me, trust me. It's better to stop trying at this point." He'd offered enough warnings, but one more couldn't hurt, and he shook his head at the man's persistence.

"Yes," he agreed, "I'm not fond of people in general, but you're useful at least for that." Galahad's cage was tucked away in a corner of the den, away from any of the harmful smoke floating about his bedroom. "Probably," he said with a light chuckle as he pulled from the joint again, eyebrows raising a bit at his antics, causing him to laugh out his exhale. "Yeah, you're being good... for now." Pierce chuckled again, watching him wiggle. "Glad you felt the need to apologize then," he hummed in amusement, quite enjoying it but already feeling it hit a bit harder than what he was used to smoking.

Pierce mimicked him and rolled onto his own side, grinning back at him. He giggled, looking a bit mischievous, "Oh?" He scooted closer, definitely feeling the full effects of the light, giggly feeling now, "How desperate of you." He laid his head down, and had he been sober it would be the kind of proximity that would make him curl his fists and aim for the throat, but now... high and with the fresh wounds of being dumped... well... it put some rather unusual (for him) thoughts into his head. Thoughts that turned into actions that would no doubt turn into regrets when he came down. He held the joint to his lips, taking a long drag, before holding it up and away from them and bumping his lips, still closing the smoke in his mouth, against Roman's, eyes open and expectant.

“North Carolina, huh? No wonder you’re so pale.” Roman didn’t necessarily mean it as an insult, just an observation. As for the flattery… “I’m not trying to flatter you, I’m just stating my opinion and preferences,” he argued lightly. “Blue eyes, dark hair, and pale skin are my favorite combination.” Hoon only had the latter of those three, but at least he was pretty. “So sue me if I can’t help but look,” he finished in a pout.

Roman didn’t know how to feel about only being seen as a substance provider. If he was sober, he wouldn’t care, but he wasn’t, so he was a little bummed! “So if I had refused to give you wine or weed, you would avoid me completely?” he pouted (which looked strange on his face every time he did it). “I guess I’ll just have to keep giving it to you, then until you like meee~” Roman was definitely at the peak of his high now, and finished his words with a giggle. “I’ll keep being good! Just you watch. I have self-control, even if I want to squeeze your…” He trailed off and giggled again, leaving that to Pierce’s imagination.

Roman’s eyes widened as they were suddenly facing each other, closer than he had expected to get to the snarky boy. He could count every cute little freckle on Pierce’s face if he wanted to… and it was obvious that he was staring at them, his expression dopey. “M’not desperate…” he mumbled, only half-listening. It really took all of his self-control not to touch the younger boy, so when Pierce sucked in a lungful and then pressed his mouth to Roman’s he stiffened in shock. It took him a couple slow moments to realize what was happening, and when he finally did, he giggled and parted the boy’s lips with his own, letting the smoke seep out into his own mouth and into the air around them. Before he knew what he was doing, Roman’s fingers were nestled into Pierce’s hair as he looked at the boy with giddy delight. “Do it again,” he pleaded. “Your lips are so soft.”
