”Oh dear,” Lynette started out, biting her bottom lip, ”This looks rather bad.”
Lynette dearly hoped no one was going to try and blame her for the scene she’d stumbled upon. She’d only been going to the library in order to pursue their selection and maybe find a nice novel to read in the few hours she would have to herself. She was certainly not expecting to turn a corner and find an entire bookcase worth of books lying on the ground in a haphazard heap! no one else was around, so Lynette could only guess that the culprit was some student who’d run rather than tell the librarian.
”Although I can’t say I blame them too much. I’d be afraid of the anger a mess like this would bring about.”
In all honesty, Lynette was worried the double it would bring even if she wasn’t the one to do the deed. it certainly still looked bad considering she was the only one there at the moment. She was unsure whether to pick up the mess and try to clean it as well as she could, or to gather her courage to tell the library staff about the mess. As she was contemplating, she didn’t hear someone walk over. Her head turned and she noticed she had company.
”Oh!”
Instantly she glanced at the large mess and felt heat rise into her cheeks. She shook her head.
”I assure you it’s not what it looks like! I stumbled upon it this way!” She insisted before sighing and looking at the fallen books. ”Obviously whoever did it felt it would be better to run.”
