"Yeah? I'll see you around," he said lastly before giving the girl a nod and a wave to dismiss her away. Getting a girl's number before a date was probably not the best way to go but it was not like he was the one who asked for it, she gave it quite willingly. He could think of a few other things he bet she would give voluntarily.
The nineteen year old chuckled to himself as she walked out and gave him a good view of her behind. He paid for two cups of coffee and hot cocholate before he exitted out of Starbucks. Using his speed, he dashed towards the academy. "Whoa," he tried to steady his hand when the cups wobbled. Once he composed himself, he headed into the library where his "study" date would take place. To his unbelievable and undeniable dismay, the girl was late!
Well he was about ten minutes but the girl was later. After a quick survey around the library, and not seeing his supposed date anywhere, Cash went to the front of the room where he knew another pretty face was. Walking up the counter, he then placed the cup holders along with the cups lol and beamed up at the blonde. "Hey Ken, how is the beautiful lady doing on this beautiful day?"

Treasure Island, about bonds, mutiny, adventure, lust for treasure, that is what Kenny was neck deep in right now. It had been a slow day, she had gotten most of her cataloging done. The new books she had ordered were not due to come in till the night time. So she decided to sit at her desk and enjoy a book. One of her aide's had told her that the library had gotten in a braille copy of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. She had heard of it, She had listened to the television show Black Sails that was supposed to be a prequel to it. This interested her so she found the copy and sat down at her desk to read it.
There were not many students in at the moment. Then she felt a quick breeze that made her bound up hair go all crazy. Then she got the scent of coffee. A scent she had always loved. Then a familiar voice. A regular who would come into the library and has helped her put books away before. Cash. She liked him felt that he was really nice.
"F..f....f...for me?"
She inquired about the coffee, after blushing harder than she had all week from the comment of being called beautiful. She'd never thought of her looks in any way because she could not see them. It had always been one of the things she liked doing to keep in shape but not to look pretty just to give her something to do and be healthy. The last thing she needed was health problems. Most of the time she did not feel beautiful but it was really nice to hear it.
Reaching up her hand she put it on his face and dragged her hand over the contours of Cash's face so that she could "see" him. Now she got the image of what he was shaped like in her head and could form a visual using her imagination but because she had been reading treasure island her imagination made Cash into a pretty pirate.
"Wh..wh...what brings you in h..h..h..here today?. b...b..breaking some h..h..hearts?"
Humor was not her strong suit that was a joke. She was not sure if she had executed it properly but it had already been said and she hoped he did not take offense. It was meant to mean that he was nice and good looking and a heart breaker. she had heard someone say it in a movie.
Oh Kennedy Snow was such a cutie. A small smirk grew on the boy'd face as he watched the girl's cheeks reddening. Oh yeah. He had the affect on people. Even on the blind. If he had long hair, he would have flipped it right then. "Yeah, here you go," he said as he pushed one of the cups in her direction. Of course initially he had bought it for the study date, but she was not here. Kennedy was. "Coffee is meant to be taken hot anyway." If anything, he could always make another dash to the cafe again and get another cup. That kind of attitude right there shaped up the easy going young man.
He waited patiently as the the lady moved her hands over his features. If this was another person, he was sure they would have freaked. But this was not the first time Ken did it and the boy understood why. Whilst she mapped out his face, Cash smiled as he got a good view of her. (Of course he would not have minded being a pretty pirate.)
A laughter escaped from the nineteen year old. The librarian was not that far off, honestly. Cash Hunter was known for leaving a trail of broken hearts. He did not do 'serious' and he was quite alright with it. Although, the same thing could not be said to the girls he left behind. "My, Kennedy, I came here to have you grace my presence with your beauty," he said joyfully. He eyed the book she had as he took a sip of the coffee. "Go ahead, tell what you're geeking out to at the moment."

When he slid the coffee to her her broken eyes lit up. It might have been small and to most people coffee was no big thing. But Kennedy loved getting presents. She pulled it closer to her knowing where it was from the smell and she showed a light smile as her eyes closed and she took a long lingering smell of the coffee and made a satisfying "mmmmmmm" noise. Then she blushed again when Cash had said that he came to grace his presence with her beauty. But then he did something most people regretted.
He allowed her to geek out and tell him about what she was reading at the moment. With her stammer and her accent this might take a while so she debated asking him to get a chair. But instead she just closed her book and ran her hand along the leather bindings and the beveled gold logo that said Treasure Island. A big smile hit her face that she covered with her hand, which she had a habit of doing from growing up so that if she hid her smiles she did not have to explain them.
"P...p....pirates.."
Turning the book toward him she showed him the logo. It would likely be no big thing to him as he had likely heard of the book. She had too but she had never got the pleasure of reading it until now. Her head turned and arched toward him so that her eyes would be looking at him despite being broken.
"L...l...long J...Jon Silver and h...h..his mutiny and ..qu..qu..quest for the t..t..treasure..of tr..tr..treasure Is..is..island...I l..l...listened to the tel...tel...television show b...b...based on it...You..r.r..r...r..remind me of a p..p..p...pretty p..p...pirate.."
She blushed again trying to keep her explanation short and less geeky so that she was not rattling on and sounded like a record skipping.

Oh but did Cash Hunter regret it? He was the one who asked did he not. He knew what he would be getting himself into. With a fanboy for a cousin, he had listened to a lot of the times Bucky geeking out or making references to shows and movies he was not sure he even knew of. Sometimes, whenever he spent time with his cousin, it would be spent listening to the younger boy's fan theories or even rants. Of course, Cash did not mind it at all. It was one of the things that made his cousin happy so he felt he was in no position to be a barrier in between that.
So when he offered the chance to Kennedy Snow to geek out, he honestly did not regret it. Plus, letting the opposite sex talk and have him listen, he learnt was a handy trick because it made the girls felt special and he knew they loved hearing themselves talk. Cash was in so little words, charming that way. The smile that hit her face had the boy smiling as well. When she turned the book towards him, he noted how classic the cover of the book was. Certainly sets the mood of the story. Cash had indeed heard of it and read the book as well. Though he had not relished in it like Kennedy had been. So even though he knew how the story went, the nineteen year old leaned his elbows on the counter and listened patiently to the cute blind librarian talk about the book she had her head stuck in.
A smirk played on his lips and he took a sip of the coffee as he eyed and noted the young woman's cheeks reddening. "A pirate huh? I've always known that I'd look pretty in a coat, hat, and long curly hair and maybe a beard," he said playfully as his mind tried to put the description together. The image he conjured had Cash chuckling. "Who knows, maybe I'd dress up as one for Halloween. Wanna be the princess I capture?"

One thing that set Kennedy aside from most women. She hated to hear herself talk. She avoided it at all costs unless she had to. However deep down she badly wanted to vocalize and socialize but she knew because of the way she spoke most would not take her seriously. So when she finds someone who doesn't care about the stammer and the accent accompanying it which separately would be fine but together sound highly amusing, then she does talk as much as she can because she does like to be social and doesn't get to that often. So when Cash or someone who doesn't mind the way she talks lets her talk she loves it and takes advantage of it.
He mentioned a pirate look and she brought up her hand and covered a smile and a light giggle as she imagined touching his face again and feeling a funny beard and then touching his clothes and noticing weird fabrics. Then he asked her if she would be his princess and her eyes widened. Her smile faded. Ever since Kenny was a girl and learned to read braille the only dream she has ever had is to be a princess, meet a prince, and live happily ever after. But she was told many times that happily ever after was not possible for awkward blind girls.
Holding in the tears she turned the book back toward her and sipped at her coffee. Then she leaned back in her chair.
"I am n...n..n..not a P..p...p..princess...there c..c...c..can't be a bl..bl...blind princess..it would r..r...r..ruin the st..sto..sto..story.."
A sad look emerged in her broken peepers as she pointed them down and ran her hand along the gold beveled logo on the book longing for adventure and a happily ever after she had come to grips that she could not have.

Princess. The boy honestly did not think much when he used the word. To him, it felt like any other word that he plucked from the air during a conversation. He did not know how much it affected Kennedy. So when her eyes widened, her smile faded and basically all the joy was sucked out, he felt his fave turned ashen too. Cash Hunter wondered if he had said the wrong thing.
Briefly, he thought whether if she was suddenly struck with a bolt of emotion, or rather -- 'feels' as he had learnt the term from Bucky. Perhaps Ken was one of the people that felt deeply and strongly for fictional characters. However, from what he remembered, there was not really a princess that was captured by a pirate in the book...right? It had been a while since he read Treasure Island and the details were a little vague to the boy right now.
When the blonde at last revealed the reason behind her ashened face, the nineteen year old exhaled loudly and dramatically. "Oh come on now. Who ever told you that?" He playfully rolled his eyes. "Just because Disney hasn't made one yet, which is ridiculous cause hello we're already in 2018, that doesn't mean anything. If anything I think a blind princess would enhance the story even more, ya know?" said Cash in hopes to cheer the librarian up a little. "She doesn't see with her eyes but instead she sees with her heart. And I think that's just beautiful, don't you agree? Princess or not."

Kennedy had known that there was no princess in the book she was reading. But ever since she was a little girl reading the books about princesses and magical kingdoms she has always wanted that kind of adventure. Be the defiant princess who falls in love with either the prince or the dashing rogue then after an adventure they live happily ever after. But because of her social anxiety, stammer, blindness, and strange ability, She feels that that is not in the cards for her. So sometimes she will get sad when someone mentions princess or adventure or happily ever after. But its more just her thoughts and her acceptance kicking in it does not last long. Nor did it this time. As she put on a new face for Cash.
When he exhaled and asked her who had told her that. The answer, was everyone. Even her dad. Her dad had told her that there was no happily ever after and there could not be a blind princess. It was not to be mean or abusive to his daughter. But his intent was to motivate her to put the book down and go prove him wrong. But it backfired as he should have known it would because being so socially awkward sometimes when people spoke she missed the intent behind the words.
Then when Cash went on about saying Disney "should" make a blind princess and his reasons why. It made her do something she had not done in a while. Smile. Without covering her mouth. A big smile slowly crept onto her face it was not till after she was smiling that she realized it and brought up her hand to cover her smile. But for a moment Cash got to see a rarity. A full unhidden Kennedy Snow smile. Then when he mentions her seeing with her heart she stood up.
"Thanks you C..c..c..cash. Your S..s..silver tongue always finds a w..w..w..way to ch..ch..cheer me up."
Then she walked over to the window behind the desk running her hand over objects until she got there. She opened the window to get a little bit of a breeze so she could imagine herself on the pirate ship, on an adventure. The wind rushing through her hair that was acting up. Right now her hair was bound and up but still.
"Somet..t...times I wish...I could be in the b..b...b..books...Have the adven...ven...venture...and just escape from my r...r...real l...l...life for a wh..wh..while..."

A grin made its way onto the nineteen year old's face when he saw the blonde bringing her hand up trying to cover the smile that he very much got a glimpse of. The boy liked it. The fact that he could put a smile on someone's face only boosted his confidence -- and ego -- even more so. That was the thing his older brother thought him. Always know when to use the right words because it was a pretty handy trick. It was basically a trait in the Hunter family.
"You know, you should do that more often. Smile -- I mean. Such beauty should not be hidden from this world that has lost it," he said before taking another sip of his coffee. His blue eyes followed the librarian as she got up and headed towards the window.
Just then, the ever brilliant Cash Hunter had an idea. He strode over next to her and placed a hand on her shoulders. "Hey, Ken, I think I can help you with that." Now the idea was working and taking shape in his mind and he knew he could pull it off. The broad grin still present on his face.
At that moment as well, he heard a shrill voice called out for him from behind. "Yoohoo, Cash I'm so sorry I'm late. Coach wouldn't let me out until I did those bloody squats." Cash inwardly grimaced and waved a hand at the other girl and motioned for her to sit at a table and wait for him.
"That study buddy finally turns up. But just you wait Ken. I promise once the library shuts, you'd get that adventure of yours." With a pat on the shoulder, Cash then headed back for his coffee and headed towards the other girl. He got his books out and sat down beside her. Now he just had to wait before he could execute the idea he had.
