He shrugged "Why would you need a reason to want to help people? Isn't that the normal to want to help people around you?" he questioned a bit confused. "I mean I get not everyone thinks that way but I think most people are good at heart. You just have to give them time and put in the effort and you see all sorts of good things in the world. Put faith and trust people and as a whole you will not be disappointed."

She laughed at his comments and shook his head with a smile. Was true its a silly comparison he made. Though its only a few years difference he did feel like that it was still a more than a little different being 18 but that was one of those things where there was no point in trying to make a deal about it. As it was still an awkward situation being up rooted and moved like that. He heard its easier the younger you are.

"Well I still don't think I am that special of a person though. Just cause I have a gift of some sort doesn't change anything. I just don't want my family to treat me any different." he said then furrowed his brow as he sort of contradicted himself he realized. "I love them and they love me but I am sort of trying to come to terms with the situation myself. So would be easier to tell them when I am better."

He did let the hug linger for a bit then she obviously wanted some space so he released. He sighed some relief "Okay I was worried there." he said softly "Glad to hear he is alright. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to have hurt someone you care about by accident cause of something you couldn't control."

Callie giggled. She bobbled her head from side to side and pointed her index finger at him. “That’s what ya’d think right?” She said with both eyebrows raised. Her blues eyes steady on his face. “I personally love helpin’ folks.” She began, moving her hands to her chest now. “Most want to be good, but circumstances can always change that. And although I see good in the world and everyone. It’s ain’t every day when I meet someone who want to help people. Most folks only do if there is a benefit to them.” She said, her accent thicker as she spoke faster. It was what she has learned recently. It was baffling to her at first, but she has gotten used to it. It doesn’t deter her in the slightest. If anything, she see it as a challenge.

“Everyone is special. In their own way.” She said, smile wide. “And now, you just ‘ave one more thing to make you that much more special.” She said, smile gleaming. She still couldn’t imagine her parent’s not knowing about why she was where she was. It seemed too big of a thing to keep from them. He eyes listened as he continued. She understood, “I get it. But at the same time. Wouldn’t’ it be nice to work through it with someone who knows you?” She asked, recalling the moments leading up to her leaving her family to come here. “I mean sure. Folk here understand ya ‘cause we all more or less went through the same thing with powers and such. But ain’t not one person ‘ere know ya like your family.” She said, not realizing she was more so speaking for herself than him. Her smile softened. “Tell them when you’re ready. No rush.” She said as she gently placed her hand on his arm. She spoke her peace, and regardless he would do what he wanted to anyways. She just hope she reached him on some level.

Although she pulled back from the hug Callie remained close. Still playing with her hair she smiled. His concern was apparent, and she couldn’t help but feel…something. “Ya. He’s good.” She said reassuring him. “I can’t imagine that either. I’m mighty lucky my ability ain’t that dangerous. Compared to others.” The thought scared her, having developed something that could harm others. That was a frightening thought, not to mention it would be even worse when you can’t control it. She shook the thought.

Callie stood in silence, looking at him, he blue eyes filled with fascination.

He shook his head "All you need is that warm feeling of that you made a difference to have gained something out of it." he told her. It was true he did enjoy helping people because it made him feel good. Which feeling better for helping someone is how it should be he thought.

He shrugged he never really felt special as he was always fairly average if not painfully so. He always tried to excel at things which is why he did better than just average but the extra effort it took was not ease at times. True his power made him different but he hadn't thought of it as special really. Gave him an ability few others had, well he assumed he wasn't the only one in the world with it. It allowed him to do things that no body else could and see things in a way no one else could. His perception of himself changed a bit cause of this conversation with Callie.

He shrugged a bit "I know I am going to tell them I couldn't imagine hiding this forever I guess I just wanted a better handle on it before I talked to them about it." he said softly. He wanted to be calm and composed if not telling them in person, while harder on him in a way would be easier on them and it was the discomfort of one versus the confusion of 4 so he lost in that equation with ease.

"Well that is very good to hear." he said with a smile. He said as he looked out at the water "Well if it wasn't already fall I might see about a swim but I just don't thin I want frost bite today hmm?" he questioned redirecting things to a more lively conversation topic.

Callie scrunched her nose and let out a giggle. “I suppose.” She said, as she felt the crisp autumn breeze dance around her body. She took in a deep breath appreciating the fresh air. Her blue eyes watched as he shrugged, “Oh stop, you’re special whether ya think so or not.” Her drawl behind each word she spoke. All of the shrugging and self-doubt had Callie smiling even more. Modesty wasn’t a bad thing, but she felt confident in those she thought deserved the praise, and he was no exception to that.

“That makes sense. There’s no rush to tell them.” She nodded her head subtly, her fingers still playing with the tips of her blonde hair. She had been thoroughly enjoying there conversation. She had learned so much about someone who before today was a complete stranger. Her eyes followed his movement as he looked out to the lake. Callie took a few steps closer to the lake, there was almost a subtle skip to her step. She inched closer to the edge and bent down, allowing her hand to gently graze the surface of the water. It was a bit on the cold side, which was a shame, because a swim did sound pretty good.

No longer interested in what she had originally come to do she turned back to Richard and gave a toothy smile. “What if I double dog dare ya to jump in?” She asked, her smile becoming more of a playful smirk.

He stopped with the humility as he saw that wasn't really the right thing at the moment. He wasn't a boisterous or big ego sort of person but she felt the urge to build him up that was her choice. He heard the whole speech about him being special and gifted from the people who brought him here. But no matter what he was just some guy.

He was glad she could understand his position and let it be when it came to his family. He did not like the notion of hiding it from them but he did indeed need to figure things out himself before taking to them. He knew his family loved him but he knew some horror stories of when secrets were exposed to family not ending well.

"Oh is that what your gonna do? Dare me for a dip?" he questioned as he raised his eye brow "I dunno it's pretty chilly fall day." he said over playing it. It was cool but he was used to this and far worse cold.

Callie hoped she made some sort of an impact on the guy. Whether he would act on it or not was irrelevant. All she had wanted was for him to at least think about it. Feeling a bit lifted, she allowed her finger tips to play with the cool water. She sat near the edge of the lake, as her eyes scanned the distance she thought of the pebbles he had thrown before.

She reached for her hat and removed it, placing in on the ground next to her. She looked back at Richard. “That’s exactly what I’m doin’.” She confirmed. Briefly her blue eyes darted to the lake before looking back towards the boy. Biting her lower lip she smiled, “Aw come on, I’m sure a guy like ya can handle it.”

Richard looked at her with a highly speculative look. They shifted from discussions of life and personal history to a dare. While he was not super obstinate sort he did take a challenge rather serious. He might peeled his shirt off already and jumped in if he wasn't feeling a bit worn from his weekend. He hesitated impulsive action even if at the behest of a golden haired beauty.

Of course her encouragement and small ego stroking forced his hand into giving into the impulsive nature "Fine but after this I better get a steamy shower." he said as he pulled his tee shirt up over head and tossed it aside. No real though went into how that sounded. Not caring if it got a bit more dirty as it was pretty filthy from the weekend. His arms now exposed, though his skin pale his arms had some definition of muscle previously hidden. Then up came his under shirt and sat it on top of the first.

His chest was muscular and well developed, obviously Richard worked out. He rolled his head back slowly side to side as he slipped his pants down. While not showy he didn't have a strong modesty streak about being seen in his boxers. He shed his shoes and sock and breathed hard feeling the brisk air caress his whole body. He took a run out and sunk himself down into the water. He shot a sharp gasp feeling the coldness of the water engulf him. "Holy crap!!!!"

Callie waited patiently, wide eyed curious to see how he’d respond. She had been there all day, and although it was a bit on the cold side, she couldn’t help but enjoy the outing. If it was a bit warmer, she would have gladly jumped in herself. Every so often her fingers would graze the surface of the crisp water. Did she think he’d do it? No. Was it fun to play with the idea of it? Yes.

She made a new friend today. That was for certain. And although she could have gone on for hours diving into his personal life she felt as though there would be plenty time ahead for that. Not to mention, he had already divulged so much in the short period of time they had been talking. Now it was time for fun.

The blonde blinked a few times to his response. He agreed? Callie had her mouth open to speak but was unable to as he began talking off his shirt. Her eyes were locked on him, completely in shock. She noticed his build, he definitely looked like someone who could have been in the military. Her eyes grew wider as his pants began to come off. Before she could even speak he was heading right towards the water. “I didn’t think ya’d actually do it!” She said as she stood, hands pressed against her face. She looked at Richard, who was probably freezing in the water. She couldn’t help but laugh.
