"Ah. So basically it makes you detail-oriented but against your will. Interesting, but I can see how that would be annoying." Then the girl mentioned she was glad she got to know Cassidy and the reaction could really only be described as surprise. Especially when the girl continued and asked if she could run with Cassidy sometime.
"Umm...yeah. Yeah that would cool. If you don't mind a spaz who has a bad habit of teleporting randomly during her runs...but it would be nice to have someone to talk to." Someone wanted to be friends with her? It still surprised Cassidy that people actually would want to be friends with her.

"Well, I have been working on adjusting it according to my preference and need. And that sounds like fun, actually." She laughed.
The older girl had looked surprised at her statement previous statement. Why? And then there was that "Umm..." It was common knowledge that this implies hesitation. Maybe Cassidy had misjudged her--it would not be the first time. "You seem surprised," she pointed out, giving a sideways smile. "I know... I do not look like the exercising type. But we all have to start somewhere." She tapped her foot. "You do not have to agree, if you do not want to." She lifted a shoulder in a half-shrug.

"No no that's not it!" She waved her hands in front of her with an apologetic smile.
"It's just...people generally don't ask to be around me. If anything it's the other way around. There aren't exactly a ton of people lining up around the block to start a friendship with me, so when someone's friendly back it just kind of takes me off guard. It's not you I promise. I'd love to have someone to run with at some point." Cassidy reddened slightly.

Blair's smile returned and she laughed a little at the flustering girl. "Okay then." But it kind of saddened her to think about how insecure Cassidy seemed to be. What could have happened to her for her to be surprised at the possibility of a friendship? Blair longed to ask her, to understand her.
She opened her mouth to do just that but then the bell rang. Footsteps approached this classroom and the ones around it. There will be time for such questions later. "Where and when shall we meet up? I'm cool with waking up early--I quite prefer it, actually."

Blair nodded. "Sounds good to me." She gave the girl a once-over again. It was strange to think that such a sweetheart had insecurities about friendship. But Blair knew quite well how much a smile could hide. What could be her story? "I will see you there tomorrow."
