Samai Colette Deza
FACE CLAIM: Gigi Hadid
---------------------------------
AGE: Eighteen
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Bi-Curious
POSITION: B.A. High School Student
POWER: Feline Physiology
Which is different from those who can fully shape shift into one. Samai's only shape-shifting ability is that her eyes shift into the physical appearance of a cats eye when her mood is intense, this shif. Her ability allows her to take on the traits and/or abilities of a feline. These abilities are not ones that she can simply "turn off" either. And while her power is always on, she still has to keep focus, be ready, and concentrate on the task at hand. Samai has feline like balance, high flexibility, and agility than your average human. Allowing her to move as agile and swift as a feline. Samai also has better senses than your average human, which include night vision, heightened hearing, smell, and sight.
LIMITATIONS:
Her abilities are heightened, not enhanced. Making her not as conditioned as someone whose ability is based on having enhanced senses.
She can not shape-shift any parts of her body into a feline other than her eyes. Which is just a physical appearance, it does not help her eye sight become more heightened than it already is.
Her ability is always on.
Because of her Feline Physiology, it has caused her to take on more of a predator and feline personality.
She gets sudden urges to be aggressive, hunt, chase, and even play around. She often finds herself giving into it, rather than fighting it.
Cautious around large bodies of water.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Cat nip
Meat cravings
Sluggish when not active
Restlessness
Intense hunger
Sensitive to loud noises, scents, and bright lights.
Random playfulness
Sleepiness
Sore muscles
Exhaustion
"Never though there would come a day when I'd have to see that adorable face across this table, Ms. Deza." An older man who looked to be around the age of his late forties, walked into the interrogation room. He was tall, about 6'4, dark hair, exotic features that reminded Samai of herself. He sat down on the cold metal chair, sitting across from the young girl, there was clear disappointment in his eyes. "Dad, do you have to call me by our last name. I'm pretty sure everyone knows we're related and how long do I have to stay in here. I've talked to like a bazillion people so far." The man leaned back in the chair as his arms crossed. "Samai, let's try to make this as painless as possible. I say, you obey. I ask questions, you answer them. Be a big girl, no crying, no whining, and I'll try my best to get you out of here as soon as possible. Understood?"
The younger girl fidgeted with her hands, slowly nodding as she sighed. "Yes, sir." The man pulled out a tape recorder, sliding it to the center of the table as he pressed record.
"Detective Deza here. For the record, let it be known that I am with Samai Deza as of September 13th 2011 6:35pm. Female. Mutant. Born in Guam. Currently a citizen of the United States of America. Fourteen years old. Five feet, five inches. Natural hair color is dark brown, currently a bleached blond. Natural dark brown eyes, currently wearing blue contacts. Eyes have a tendency to shift into the shape of cat eyes, a golden brown color, especially when highly upset. Suspect has henna tattoos that go up from her fingers to her arm (example) and two piercings, both ears." Detective Deza said without any hesitation, pauses, questions or second guesses. He opened up the young girl's file which had been mostly bare, except for when it came to this case.
"Now Ms. Deza, remind me what happened today at 1:30pm. You said you were with your friends?" Samai looked up from the metal table and into her father's eyes, sighing somewhat to herself. She wished she had stayed at home earlier today, binge watching Gossip Girl or something, anything. "Kourtney invited me and a few friends to take a joy ride to the beach-" The Detective interrupted the girl, "Your best friend Kourtney Ruiz? The one you grew up with, correct?" Samai nodded, "Yeah, her. So we were all on our way to the beach to meet up with a few guys. I had no idea how old they were, or that she took her parents Jeep without asking." She sighed, "So after we hung out at the beach for an hour or so, the guys asked if we all wanted to go hang out at their place and that they were having a small get together with a few other friends."
The Detective narrowed his eyes slightly, "So you went?" Samai nodded, "Yeah, I mean. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal. You and mom both said you guys wouldn't be home till late anyway... didn't think it would matter. Anyway, we met up with them at their place, didn't know we were dealing with Seniors until after we got there. And everything was fine until..."
He sat up, "Until what, Samai?" She pressed her lips together as she let out a sigh. "Until a fight broke out. I guess one of the guys who threw the party had some issues with another guy who showed up. Someone mentioned something about owed money... and drugs. I don't remember, everything just happened so fast. Next thing I know, there were shots fired, at a lot of people... and while me and Kourtney tried to run, one of the guys grabbed Kourtney, I think he thought Kourtney was the other guy's girlfriend or something. He threatened to shoot her if he didn't get his money - I, I don't know. It was weird, I saw my best friend in danger, I panicked, everything became intense, loud - I, uh and it got really weird. I kind of snapped, and all I could remember was getting up, charging at him, he shot at me and I was lucky, I managed to dodge it but it was different.. I felt like I had the upper hand in the situation and I pounced on him. I guess I did it so hard that I knocked him out..."
Even as she spoke those words, Samai still couldn't grasp that she had managed to do any of it. It sounded like something that happened to people on television shows and movies. Not her, not a fourteen year old girl who lived for lattes and tanning at the beach. Not someone who was one of the head cheerleaders at her school. Not her.
She didn't think attending what they thought would be some small party would end up like that. They attended parties all the time, that's what girls like her did. Especially popular Freshmen. Though, being popular and a Freshman didn't help this time. The young girl could see her father rubbing his temples, he looked tired, which was how she usually saw him when he got home late. Now her being here would probably add on to those troubles. "I believe I've heard enough." He sighed, "While I do not believe you'll be charged with being associated with those boys, someone is here to see you; Speak to you, about a new school. And Samai..."
The girl couldn't look up at her father as her heart raced. What? A new school? They were trying to send her away? How? Everything and every one she had ever known, was here in Cali. She had a reputation here, her best friends were here. She couldn't just start over, that wasn't fair. Was it because she was different? Samai pressed her lips together as she tried not to cry because she already knew how much her father would upset if she did, she looked up at him. "Yes?"
The man sat up from his seat as he gathered the files, "Try to cooperate with the woman, we all just want what's best for you. You might hate us now but you'll learn to understand what has to happen. Anyway, your lawyer will be here soon, since I thought it was best if she were here." The girl shook her head as she looked away, "You called mom!? You do know she is going to kill me, right?"**Four Years Later - 9.13.15**
Samai felt a vibration from the back pocket of her jean shorts. While pulling out her phone, she noticed a name that always made her heart skip a beat whenever she saw it. Or at least one of two. "Hey Dad, oh nothing... just got out of cheer practice. Or I guess a cheer meeting. You know, school starts back up again and I guess they just wanted to inform us about a few things for the upcoming year." Samai sighed, "Yes Dad, still keeping up with gymnastics." Another sigh escaped as she licked her lips, "Yes. I understand I start college in a year but no, I don't know what major yet - Okay, yeah - I know, I got it. I promise, once I figure out what I want to do, I'll let you two know."
The mutant looked down at her nails, "Yes. I'm still hanging with the same crowd. Even though, I hated coming here, I'm way used to it now. Those are my peeps from day one." She chuckled, "I promise, they aren't a bunch of thugs or anything like that. Still the same crew." She narrowed her eyes, "Yeah, I did go through with the training last week. I mean, you don't have to really call it a 'cat mutant ability thing' dad, just say powers."
A small smile appeared on her face, "Okay well, since we were on the subject of school. Do you think you and mom can add a bit more to my account? There are these boots I really want to wear for the first day, and it'll go past my spending limit for the week, which, I should mention should go back up. I've been doing so well with my grades. Come on. Oh my god, dad, I AM grateful for the car. Seriously, I just really need new school stuff." She gasped with a bright smile, "Really? Yay. Okay, thank you Papa! Love you, kisses. Mwuah!" The Guam girl looked over to her friend in the driver's seat, a smug smirk appeared on that baby face of hers. "Okay. It's done. Should have the money in an hour or so. Florida is going to be so much fun!"
