"he is indeed quite awesome, is our Lord Pawesome," Charity replied easily enough. She'd had to practice the phrase a few times and was far too thrilled with having gotten it right in these particular circumstances. She was still working on filling up the tub and all, but she could hear and see Levi dealing with the ungainly Dane. Charity was tempted to warn him that too much enthusiasm and energy and Pawsome would start thinking that it was time to start playing, and when a Great Dane of his size started playing, there was little you could do but go along.
But surely Levi would've figure that out. Especially because he was getting face to face with Pawsome, which definitely meant he was going to be getting a face looking very soon. Yep, just about to start when he called Pawsome a good boy and thy were going to need to play with him soon or---
"Oh boy," Charity said as she saw the thundering Great Dane head her way. She let out a little shriek, managing to throw her arms up in defense. The dog still barreled into her, knocking her to the ground. As if that weren't enough, the blow knocked the nearby tub over, dumping water and shampoo all over Charity.
"Down, down boy! Go play with Levi! This is all his --" Charity started but soon had to let out a few giggling squeals as Pawsome started working over her face.

Still rubbing his hands on the dogs dirty head. Levi laughed at Charity's answer to his question. Perhaps he should start being more involved with the actual animals here. He loved dogs, well all animals for that matter. He understood they needed him for his strength from time to time but there was no reason why he couldn't also help out with the animals. It would be nice to be able to get to know the dogs here better. Lord Pawesome seemed friendly enough.
Levi had not managed to warn Charity of the dog's break towards her, but soon enough she'd know. Levi stood momentarily frozen, admiring how the large beast moved. He watched helpless as the dog knocked over Charity and dumped the water all over her and the floor. "Jeez!" He mumbled under his breath. His hazel eyes were wide with shock, as he placed his hands on his head. Levi jogged over to her and tried pulling the dog off of her. "Come on boy, get off." He said and with a few tugs Lord Pawesome followed his instructions. He pulled him a few feet away from her, and held him by the scruff of his neck. "Stay." He said sternly as his eyes narrowed on the dog. Lord Pawesome sat still, his tail still feverishly wagging, and his tongue was sticking out the side of his mouth, completely unaware of what he just did. "Stay" Levi repeated. The dog seemed to be complaint.
Feeling confident that Lord Pawesome wouldn't moved. He turned quickly to face Charity. "I am so sorry. You okay?" He asked sincerely. He offered a hand to help her up. She was soaked in suds. So much for not busting their asses and ending up wet on the floor.

The dog kept it at for a while, with Charity letting out squeals that vaguely resembled protests. The water had already soaked through and she did love the big lug of a dog. She'd just hoped that this wouldn't've happened until they'd been a bit further along in the bathing process, like, after they'd at least gotten started on Lord Pawesome.
"Yes, stay," Charity managed as Levi pulled the dog away. She scrambled a bit, getting a bit further. the Dane's twitching had Charity nervous, and she gave him what she hoped was a stink-eye. He looked far too ready to play, which just made Charity nervous all over again. Levi was right there with a hand, which Charity took willingly enough, pulling herself upright.
"Yeah, it's only, what, the second fall I've had? Third?" Charity blew out her lips and waved a hand dismissively. "That's light. I usually end up splitting my pants or having something explode by now," with just horrible bad luck too, since Charity wasn't any less graceful than ye average woman. She walked forward a bit to give Pawesome a rub behind the ears. "Well, I'm already wet, so at least we don't have to worry about that. Let's go get this big lug a bath, huh? You silly big dog," Charity said, letting out another laugh and shaking her head. Yeah, she could've been upset, she supposed, but, well, the dog was a big playful animal and Levi had just underestimated. Not like Charity had worn her good clothes to be playing around with the animal, and being soaked wasn't the worst thing to happen to her in public. Sadly.

Glad that Lord Pawesome was staying put for now, he was able to focus on Charity. However, every once in a while Levi would slightly turn his head and eye the dog. Just to make sure. Levi held back a laugh, he was glad that she hadn’t ripped her pants or caused an explosion, but the thought was still funny. “Well that’s good.” He said with a nod of the head. He watched as Charity pet the dog. Levi’s eyes were hard locked on the dog. A feeling of relief passed through him when he heard her laugh, making light of the situation. Which was fine, it could have been way worse. The back of his mind flickered with the thought of a dog attack that he witnessed.
“Yes. Lets.” He said simply. Hoping to avoid any more dangerous falls or situations, but he had a feeling that that may be a difficult task. It has seemed as though Charity was well used to this kind of stuff. Accident prone perhaps? Indifferent to the thought, Levi walked over to where the tub had been knocked over. Walking cautiously trying to make sure he didn’t slip, he bent over and picked up the tub that was laying on its side. As he stood, he went to take a step back and his boots lost their grip on the slick surface sending him back on his ass. The tub was still in hand, and he just couldn’t help but laugh.
He shot a look over to Lord Pawesome and Charity. “I feel like this is an episode from a TV sitcom.” He said between breaths of laughter.

Charity had long ago learned to just sort of poke fun and laugh at life. Her own was, well, it was pretty crappy on the whole. That wasn't even touching the whole recently dead father and owning up to his position or anything along those lines. Nope, Charity's life just sort of was, well, one giant sit-com.
And then Levi fell down. Charity looked over at him, fighting the urge to burst into laughter. His comment definitely made her do so, leaning against the dog, who offered up a few barks of his own. Charity shook her head as she looked over at him. "My whole life is one big sit-com, and I'm not sure if I should be praying for a season renewal or not."
Pawesome gave Charity another quick lick, which had her chuckling again. She leaned over and gave him a good rubbing before pulling herself up. Nodding, Charity then reached up, adjusted her hair, and snapped her fingers. "Alright, c'mon Pawesome: enough playing around, we've got to actually get you clean," she then pointed back where they'd started, and where the hose lay, before looking down at Levi. Charity snapped her fingers again. "You too: no lollygagging," she gave him a smile before moving to give him room, already heading toward the big lug of a dog.

Levi laid there for a moment, temporarily giving up on the situation. He felt the water seep through the back of his white t-shirt. After the long laugh, he eyed Charity. “I would watch a new season.” He said, slightly unsure what he meant by that.
His eyes followed Charity as she took charge of the dog, and now him. He raised an eyebrow as she stood over him snapping her fingers. He let out a chuckle and flashed a smile back at her. “No ma’am!” He said military-esque as he saluted her from the ground. Levi placed his hands on the ground and pushed himself up. After balancing himself, he wiped his wet hands on his now wet shirt, which didn’t help much.
Levi let took a deep breath, “Alright.” He muttered to himself. He saw that Charity was over with Lord Pawesome. He walked over and picked up the hose from the ground and turned it on a little, allowing a slow stream of water flow out into the tub he had picked up. Levi squirted some of the shampoo in tub as well, letting it foam up. Once it was almost full, he shut off the water and looked at both Lord Pawesome and Charity. “You know. I have great power in my hand right now.” He said with an impish smirk. He gestured the hose in his hands.

Charity wasn't entirely sure what to make of Levi's comment regarding the season thing. She did flash him a quick smile though. Clearly he meant it to be encouraging after all, and Charity couldn't help but appreciate that particular gesture for what it held. Except that they still had the dog to focus on and to get to and somehow... clean.
Charity's take-charge attitude worked to get Levi and Pawesome back into the right area and attitude. She couldn't help but feel more than a little proud of that, considering that she'd been soaked by water and licked by a dog within the past few moments, neither of which did much to help her position as an authority figure. But the dog had followed, and Charity was now rubbing him down while Levi got back to the hose and all.
His comment confused Charity for a moment though: "What? No, you don't have any--" she began, only to pause as she looked back at him. "oh, ah, yes, but you see," she pulled at her shirt, "I'm already wet. So all you'd do is get him excited," she pointed at Pawesome, "and probably get yourself wet," Charity wiggled a finger at him, smiling, feeling like she'd just offered irrefutable logic right there.

Levi had accepted from the beginning that he had no power in this entire situation. Which was unusual for him. He liked being in charge and not to mention he felt as though a lady should not be dealing with the filth and stench of the kennel. But he had agreed to help, and had be more than willing to follow what she asked of him (again, something very unusual for him to do). But she went about it in a kind and friendly way, and because of that he didn’t mind.
It was when she stood above him snapping her fingers and re-establishing her take charge attitude, a flicker of his male ego kicked in. No harm no foul. He wasn’t upset. It was all in good fun. Yet here he was now, standing with a hose in his hand.
His hazel eyes remained on Charity. His smirk growing wider with each thing she said. He admired her attempt to try to prove that he would be better off leaving the hose be. Her wiggling finger made his nose crinkle and shake his head. He cleared his throat, “Well seeing as that I too am wet,” He turned his back towards them, his white t-shirt was practically see through and stuck to his back like Velcro. He turned back to face them. “Getting wet some more doesn’t bother me, and as I recall,” He pursed his lips slightly, and rubbed his chin as though he was in deep thought. “Last time I got him excited, you seemed to be the one to get the worst of it.” He gave a wink, his smirk still present.
“So like I stated. I have great power in this hand right now.”

The smirk grew wider, which Charity did not like. No sir, she did not like that one bit. She stared at him, wondering why that smirk was growing and if she should be more afraid than she already was getting. He was wet: oh look at that. Wet clothes. How had Charity missed that? And more wet didn't bother. And...
"Well, see," Charity said, bending down to rub behind Pawesome's ears, "last time I wasn't prepared. Also I wasn't the one holding the hose," Charity then leaned over and gave the goofy dog a kiss on the top of his head. He turned and gave her another lick. "Isn't that right Pawesome? Who's a great doggie?" his tail was wagging. "And do you see that? "Charity pointed toward the hose. Pawesome looked at it, then hit the ground with his paws. "That's a hose, yeah, yeah, you want to get that, don't you Pawesome!?"
The dog's entire body shook as he wagged his tail, and Charity looked up at Levi, smiling. "See? So why don't we just get Pawesome her clean and save the...." she gestured toward the hose, "hosing... for appropriate times or something. Or kids. I don't know, who hoses these days? Those people."

Levi had felt that he just gave a great counterargument to Charity’s initial avowal. He had been holding the hose for a while, and although he was super tempted to spray it in their direction he knew better than to do so, and Charity had been right. It would just get Lord Pawesome more wound up and make a bigger mess which they would have to probably end up cleaning themselves. He would never admit that she was right though.
He thought that she would have just surrendered, but she surprised him with yet another challenge of his power. His ears listened intently to her rebuttal, his smirk lingered. His eyes shifted between her and the dog. He shook his head slightly at what she had been saying, and as soon as she finished he just let out a laugh. “Fine. You’re safe.” He said reluctantly as he pressed his lips tightly together, trying to seem upset in his defeat. “For now.” He added.
“Why don’t you and Lord Pawesome come on over so we can get started?” He said gesturing to the shampoo and tub on the floor.

"Aha, success!" Charity said, thrusting her arms into the air. The dog of course had to bark along with that, getting excited again. He started to jump up on Charity but she managed to get him to back down (if just barely). The last thing she needed was one of her very rare victories to be flipped so quickly on her. Thankfully Pawesome was at least somewhat willing to go along with her now. It was just a matter of gesturing for him to follow and Charity could walk them both over to where Levi waited.
"Thankfully the others are all taken care of," Charity said as she and Pawesome got into position. "He's going to be a lot of dog to wash. You want to, like, do one side," she gestured at the dog's right side, "while I do the other? Way better than trying to fight over who gets head or tail, believe me."
Charity gestured at that, nodding emphatically. She had that well-worn look of someone who'd already experienced that and had no desire for another round.

Levi narrowed his hazel eyes at her victory. He remained still, just shaking his head ever so slightly. He heard the dog bark in excitement unaware of the real reason Charity was happy. Dogs are awesome. He watched as Charity managed to push the Great Dane off of her and headed towards him.
He turned and readied himself for the challenge of washing the biggest dog Levi had ever seen. “Yeah that sounds like a good idea.” He said in agreement. Levi reached over to the sud filled tub and lifted it slightly, giving Pawesome one more pet before pouring it carefully over his back. The dog shuddered a bit, but remained come thus far which was a relief. Levi wasn’t in the mood for more of a struggle, and he assumed Charity wasn’t either.
Levi squirted some of the shampoo in his hands and began lathering up his side of the huge dog. His eyes looked over at Charity. “Do you have any pets?” He asked curiously. She seemed to have a knack for handling Lord Pawesome. He could only imagine how well she’d handle animals of her own. He thought back to the events of the day so far, he smirked. Maybe not.

They managed to corral the dog into a decent position. Charity kept petting Pawesome, knowing they'd need to get him as calm as possible. Pawesome still kept being eager about the whole bathing thing, tongue lolling out and looking just thrilled with the world. that expression didn't even waver too much as Levi poured the water and the dog shuddered.
Charity made certain to get out of the way, getting ready to start rubbing and lathering. The moment shampoo hit dog, Charity was right there. She started rubbing and working, making sure to move all around the animal, wanting to get him all the way covered. Didn't mean that she couldn't still talk, and she looked up at Levi as he asked the question.
"Nope," she said. "At least, not yet. I'm working on getting somewhere that's actually possible," as in out of the school and somewhere nicer, but that was definitely in the (very near) future as far as Charity was concerned. "But I spent years teaching kids, so the whole taking charge of people does sometimes kick in," she reached up and scratched Pawesome behind the ears, only to end up jerking away as he shook again.
Charity rolled her eyes, giving the dog a light, soapy sounding smack. The Dane responded by giving Charity a big lick. "Shame that teenagers aren't this easy to control, or I'd be awesome at my job," she gave Levi a thumbs up before moving to start working the dog again. At least with two people this shouldn't take too long. Charity was already looking forward to being dry and kicking up her feet.

Levi kept working the dog with the shampoo. There was a lot of dog to cover. Luckily, they would be done sooner since they each had a side. Pawesome seemed content and was remaining relatively still. He’d shift every so often but nothing to dramatic.
He looked up at Charity when he heard her answer his question. “Aw. Well maybe one day you can adopt this guy.” He said titling his head towards Lord Pawesome. “You too seem to get along very well.” He said with a chuckle. He gave Pawesome a small pat on the back. “Yeah, I can see that.”
He watched and smiled as the Dane licked Charity. He pictured her walking the bear sized dog down the street. It was quite humorous, as the dog would most likely end up walking her. He let out another laugh. ”Yeah, well teenagers in general are known for being difficult by their very nature.” Levi said with a smirk, reminiscent of his troubled days. He wasn’t bad per say. Just rebellious, as most teens were. It was more so the playful side of him that people tended not to like. He’d always take it one step too far.
“Alright, I think I got my side pretty well lathered up, how about you?” He said as he peeked over to her side. Levi eyed the hose on the floor next to them. Next step, rinsing him (or them) off…

Charity chuckled at the thought of adopting Pawesome. "Naw, this guy needs, like, a ranch to run around like crazy on," which she could definitely see happening given where they were and all. Charity definitely didn't want to end up somewhere like that. A smallish house would suit her just fine. Well, really, at this point, she'd pretty well settle for anything that wasn't a dorm room. Something that at least said "adult" and would allow her to bring someone home (not that this ever happened but, y'know, potential).
Charity gave Pawesome another pat, chuckling as Levi teased about teenagers. "oh yeah, tell me about it. But I'm sure I'm in the right place. Following my dad's footsteps and all," Charity nodded at that, giving Pawesome another rub. She did suppose she had some potential fallback opportunities. If nothing else she could probably get another job teaching small children again. Or maybe something with volunteer work: she had the inclination. And if she was willing to get soaked and wash a dog like this one, well, she had to be ready for quite a lot.
Charity nodded at Levi's comments. "Yep, we're all good to go," Charity gave Pawesome another scratch behind the ears, just barely ducking out of the way as he turned to lick. She got onto her feet. "You ready to use that hose?" She asked, before raising up a slightly sudsy finger: "And not on me."
