It was amusing to see the twins acting like baby birds waiting for him to feed them. He didn’t do like mama bird however, eating the food first and then dropping it in their mouth. First, because it was disgusting. Second, because it was cotton candy and it would just melt in his mouth if he did that. But also, and mostly, because it was disgusting. He took a bite off of Jasper’s but he was considering taking some of Casper too, to even things. Still, it sort of made sense he would steal some out of Jasper’s first.
It was a relief for him that it was just cotton candy for he likely would have choked on anything else after what Jasper said. That was a very sexual thing to say but it was more than that. “You do not know that. We’ve never yet...” But, of course, he did not finish. The thing was that he considered this for a while. It was, after all, something to experiment and who better to try it with than your boyfriend, really. Jasper was not supposed to know that though. It was supposed to be a surprise, for later. And the simple fact he thought about this made him blush perhaps more than he would have wanted right now. Jasper corrected himself, pointing out that he meant the cotton candy. But it was a little late. It happened. And Franck was trying to recover from it.
Luckily, having them talk about their past helped. He didn’t want to bring any sad memories to them or make them feel homesick. It was a part of their life and Franck was curious to know more about them. He could just as easily ask how the orphanage was but they said a bit about it earlier and he didn’t want to discuss something that might dampen the mood. Not on their birthdays.
Franck thought the twins had the potential to be really popular. But they needed to adapt to life here, understand how people interacted with one another. One was not simply a toy. But that too was something he’d rather not talk about today. The twins couldn’t have expected to keep this hidden from him though. It was too easy for Franck to get that they did not like it very much here nowadays. Things had been hard for them lately. He heard what Jasper said, and he was really surprised. Touched too, but mostly surprised. What can you answer to that? Nothing, really. He didn’t want to be sentimental here. “You just need to get used to how things are around here. You tried your way and it was not as great at you’d hoped, but it can be. Just give the people a chance,” he finally said. But he stopped even though he thought about more to say. He told himself he would not try to do that. It had to come from them, he shouldn’t push them down the right path. He stole some of the remaining cotton candy from Casper. He didn’t want to change the subject but they couldn’t dwell on this one. “Come on, there are still plenty of rides we haven’t tried yet,” he told them as he found a garbage can to toss away the wrapping around his cotton candy, determined to go back to the excitement they felt earlier.
