Jennifer (Jen) Mitchellson
FACE CLAIM: Michelle Trachtenberg
---------------------------------
AGE: 21 years old
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Heteroflexible
POSITION: College student
POWER: Elasticity/ Enhanced flexibility
Jen has the ability to stretch out her limbs up to four meters long. Her skin and body appears to be plastic in the way it's malleable, even though it doesn't change it's composition when taking this form. She usually can easily stretch out her arms and legs, twist her upper body and neck, and even stretch out her fingers some centimeters longer. Even though her body is this flexible and stretchy, the more she stretches a body part, the slimmer and weaker it gets as they don't change size. This means an overly stretched body part can easily be cut or hurt by others.
Thanks to this power, Jen can twist, bend, and move her body parts in inhuman ways, looking like a contortionist when she focuses enough to do so. Despite her ability, doing so often leaves her bones brittle and weak and her muscles sore, like it would any other kind of exercise.
Her powers, if you ask her, bring more troubles than perks. Even if she can stretch out her muscle, her clothes aren't made to do that and any kind of restrain will keep her from doing that or even tore around her with enough pressure. Sadly, she still holds the same strength as any girl her size and age, so even if she can bend around something, she couldn't really hurt anyone that much. Not only that, but most times her joints give in under pressure and bend and stretch despite her not wanting to.
LIMITATIONS:
- There's a limit to how much she can stretch. She can't stretch her arms and legs further than four meters, her fingers more than a few centimeters and her head more than fifty centimeters, since it can't very well hold her head.
- The stretched out limbs get weaker and thinner the more they stretch.
- While her bones get flexible, they still need muscles to bend, so she can't really do odd shapes.
- Her size isn't changed despite her stretching.
- Her strength stays the same.
- Can't alter her head in particular.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
- Weak bones and joints.
- Sore muscles after a particularly difficult contortion.
- Problems with organs and digestion when bending her torso in odd ways, particularly after eating.
- Certain positions can lead to problems with breathing properly.
Jennifer smiled at the computer screen, shaking her head. Oh, memories. She leaned back to watch her reflection in the mirror, staring at herself with a smirk. Blue eyes, dark wavy hair and pale skin, the Mitchellson look alright. She painted her lips bright red, almost ruining the make up as she glanced at the video once again as the voices made her turn.
"And here they come, the golden family." She saw her father, a good seven years younger, smiling to the cameras and waving, grabbing her mother's hand and pulling her up the stage. The two hugged and laughed happily as people cheered and Jen rolled her eyes at the sight. If only people knew. She remembered the fights the previous days of that. Not that well, mind you, she'd been like four, but she recalled someone crying and her parents screaming and everything being a mess. Elections were tough. Ah, speaking of messes- "Those are the children. Look at them, the future of their empire." Up went Peter, August and Caelum, all dressed in white, looking adorable. Ah, but then there she went. A little girl with two pigtails and ribbons waddled her way to the front and she smiled around, obviously pleased with the attention. She even got a close up and Jen filled with pride. Come on, do it. And there it was! The little girl giggled happily and waved her hands at the camera, then running up to her daddy. The man laughed happily as well and pulled the girl up to let her hug him. A perfect little family, and she was the star.
Jen leaned back, letting out a breath and grabbing her glass of wine, twirling it as she stared. The video continued as they kept going about the family and the business and whatever the fuck, who cared? Her thoughts were far too distracting to pay attention to it. Things at home had been far different from what the video showed. It cut up to the part where her father was waiting for a call. Ah, she was older there, on the background, getting fuzzed over by some random older women. She'd always been good manipulating older people. They were so easy, a smile here a compliment there and she was able to get whatever she wanted.
"Mitchellson wins the election!" People were cheering in the video and Jen took a big gulp from her wine. Of course he did. She'd been... seven back then? Eight maybe? Those were the worst years of her life. She stretched out an arm to grab a brush from the table and started doing her hair next, still staring at her reflection. Caelum had been getting worse each day, she remembered and her mother had been a bitch to her father and her poor daddy had been covered with work. Dark times for the Mitchellson family.
"The newest policies for conglomerates change in the city-" She stopped the video and rolled her eyes. Oh yes, she remembered that time. She'd been eleven back then. Caelum had left already after that frightful day he'd started to fly and then- then it'd been her turn. She'd been eleven and had woken up with her arms surrounding her pillow many times over. She'd gotten scared, particularly because she'd planned to record an ad for her father that day, and after seeing how Caelum had gotten shipped away, well, it was needless to say she'd tried to keep it a secret. She'd dumbly thought she wouldn't have to leave if she told no one about it. Of course that failed and the Bellefonte people arrived, just like with Caelum, a few days later to take her away. She'd screamed and cried and yelled, making a tantrum like she was famous for, spoiled little brat, but they hadn't heard.
Jen grabbed a necklace and smiled at the sight of it. At least her daddy never left her alone. She still had her bank account full to fill any silly craving. She placed the necklace around her neck and smirked at her reflection. Perfect, just like daddy had wanted her to be. Well, at least she pretended to be. Wasn't that what Mitchellsons were famous for?
She sighed and grabbed her perfume, lightly spraying her wrists and smiling down at it. At least her time in Bellefonte had proved fruitful. She'd been great at it. Perfect grades, even if that took some flirting and manipulation of the nerdiest classmates, maybe a bit of sucking up of teachers. Perfect body, even if that meant waking up at 6 am to run every day and a travel or two to get her lunch down the toilet as soon as she ate. And friends... well, she snorted at the thought. Who needed friends? She could have people do whatever she wanted if she knew how to work them anyway. A smile here, pretend to be interested there, learn a secret or two. It was easy to manipulate and use people when they ended up trusting her, so why should she need anyone in her life? Besides, she already had someone to love.
"Jen?" Ah, there he was. Jen smiled at her reflection and checked her appearance one last time. Perfect. "Coming, Caelum." She called back from her room and stood to leave. That dumb brother of hers would end up making some silly joke, she figured, and she so didn't want to deal with being teased for being late as well.
