Ben has the ability to calculate not only the probably of something happens (a car crash) but also possible outcomes of said thing (everyone dies, or people survive) and how likely these things are to happen. He in no way predicts the future, he merely uses all the information given to come up with possibilities and then determines how likely certain things are to happen.

This works just as the name would suggest, through calculation, Ben turns everything, every event or situation into a math problem and then solves it. Because of this his ability also makes him incredibly good at math like scarily impossibly freaky good. He has the potential with practice to calculate the possibilities in a few seconds though at the moment it takes him at least two to five minutes. He can also, manually write the calculation but it all looks like very complicated math problem that has math in her shouldn’t understand at his age.

LIMITATIONS:

Does Not see the possibility of things with no chances of happening such as freak accidents, or things that could've happened because of a freak accidents.


Even if he can calculate or predict the outcome doesn't mean the outcome he chooses will be the one that happens.

He can only see the immediate outcomes, if more than one event is resulted from a situation he can only see the first possibly outcomes.

Yes he can use his gift to make choices to get to the outcome he wants, however his power doesn’t factor in other people’s choices. As in, his choices and chances for success change as outside factor change. He also runs the risk of changing the probability of the outcome he wants.

He can only see the outcomes, not which one will actually happen.

At the moment he can only calculate the possible outcomes for isolated events without getting overwhelmed with information. For example, he could calculate the possibilities of contract going through, or losing clientele but not the possibility a company as a whole as of surviving because there are so many things that could go wrong and events that could cause these things to happen.

SIDE-EFFECTS:

He doesn’t understand why people chase after things that are 1 in a million or not ever gonna happen/

He’s doesn’t make a move without it being calculated, by probability he has to learn how to live in the moment and it’s not likely that he ever will.

He becomes overwhelmed really easy by information because it changes outcomes.

Even though he likes math it makes it very hard to solve word problems because he solves for the probabilities and not the answer. For example, if a problem asks…Jimmy and Sarah are going to the movies, and then gives the amounts of money. Ben calculates the possibilities of sarah not showing up, the movie being sold and so forth and so forth.

He gets incredibly painful headaches and blurry vision.

Using his power is very addicting to the point where it causes him to stay awake calculating the possibility of random things. Because of this he’s developed insomnia.

Him being a human calculator makes him think more like a computer, while he is able to feel emotions he doesn't understand them or process them the way a normal person would.

PERSONALITY:

Benjamin is incredibly confident and sure about every moves he makes, he doesn’t second guess himself. He lacks the self-consciousness that a lot of teenagers have at his age, mostly because he knows that he doesn’t need to be self-consciousness. While incredibly stuck up, he also very nice and helpful. Like he wouldn’t give the shirt off his back but he’d give you directions to a clothing bank or something to help you out. He walks with swagger and each step taken is sure and calculated because he doesn’t have time to make mistakes. He’s a perfectionist, he has everything in order and is always looking his best. There isn’t a time where you would ever catch him slipping.

Ben is also very self-centered not in the way that he doesn’t care but in the way that he’s oblivious to other people’s problems because he has enough of his own. He’s also in his own world most of the time, mostly because he’s young and isn’t really all that concerned with anything but having a good time most days. He’s secretive and very adept at turning the conversation away from his issues and onto someone else's.

Ben hates being called by his full name or Benny, only his sister is allowed to call him Benny...and his mother. Though he gets back at Ellen by pulling pranks and being generally annoying. He says it's payback for the all things she did to him when they were younger. He’s a very active and athletic child though he sticks mostly to extreme sports such as snowboarding, skateboarding, and parkour. He does play Lacrosse, Soccer and Basketball, but those aren’t as fun as extreme sports to him.


On the downside there is a dark side to Ben that no one, not even his parents have yet to bring out in him. Because Ben is a very Selfish person, which comes from being spoiled and of course told that he deserves and is entitled to the best. Coupled with that fact that he is an opportunist, he can and will play on someone’s insecurities or weaknesses to get what he wants. Although he’s never actually had to do that because he’s not the type of person to want what someone else already has. he’s also a very jealous person, he doesn’t like to see someone with something or someone that he wants. He can and will hurt someone out of spite and jealousy just because he was taught to take what you want at all cost.



SECRET(S): Ben accidently broke this really expensive vase while skateboarding in the house. His role model/hero is his sister but he would NEVER EVER tell her that. He’s afraid of failure and isn’t all that keen on spending time with his family, especially his dad. He’s also slowly cracking under the pressure of his father but he’s determined not give in.

CHILDHOOD: Benjamin Banks was the second and finally child born to Philip and Una Banks. He grew up for the most part in New York and then his family moved to some small town for some reason he never really cared to ask. He learned how to skateboard around age seven, went on to ski and snowboarding around age nine and started parkour after seeing youtube videos of when he was ten. Of course that caused him to break his arm but he never really cared about that stuff when he wanted to do something. It was obvious that Ben was stubborn even as a child. Of course one couldn’t fail to mention the torture that Ellen put him through, and his promise to get revenge when he was older.


He was taught the In’s and Out’s of being Banks, no mistakes, don’t have any weakness, win at all cost and never give up. Of course he wasn’t exactly present for how to be a stone-cold mofo 101 so he’s never really learned how to be mean (apparently it happens naturally not that he’s aware of that). During Elementary school, he made a few friends but nothing to solid, he mostly stayed home studying whatever his father thought it was necessary for him to learn and skateboarding.

ADOLESCENCE:

Middle school was where things started taking a turn for the worst. Like a lot of mutants, he manifested at twelve and he didn’t exactly know what was going on. Yes he got the whole mutant talk from his dad and his sister was going to Bellefonte Academy but he was expecting something like super-strength or something cool.

Ben’s power manifested in a way that wasn’t exactly noticeable at least not for him, sure he could see the possible outcomes and calculate them faster however it showed up in the form on beyond normal or genius level math skills. Ben tried to hide it and play up on him just being naturally good at math, he just didn’t want the attention that he was sure his father would put on now that his power was present. Unfortunately you can’t hide your abilities forever because the recruiter showed up, his father was upset that Ben had tried to hide it but please to know what it was. He was shipped to the academy but not without giving the rules of the rude which was basically nothing but your best is acceptable.

Upon starting the academy in order to entertain himself he started playing pranks on his sister and generally annoying her to no end. He didn’t actually see himself getting in trouble for a few harmless pranks even if it was possible. Other than that he’s adjusted to life pretty well at the academy.

During SPRITE, Ben's power a tiny grew stronger during the epidemic. He's no longer limited to isolate events, as long as he has enough information on what's happening he able to get a the immediate outcome of situation for example. Before he could only tell if a business deal would go through for a company, however now if he had all the company's information, like profits, stock shares, owners, board memebers. He'd be able to see probability of a company lasting a certain amount of time. As this is a larger scale probability find, it takes him twice as long as an isolated event to figure out.



sixteen:
Ben and Ellen made up after the fallout. Though Ben, after witnessing what seemed to be a betrayal and probably was from LDR, decided she was right and that emotions were stupid. While he did stop shutting Ellen out he also stopped shutting out his dad. Even though they both knew that Ben was never going to seek his approval he was starting to listen to his dad more. He stopped goofing off, picked up his grades and was visibly Colder towards everyone....even his sister. Though he still talked to her it was obvious Ben that was more closed off then when he was not sleeping.

Seventeen:
Ben didn't change, his voice did, his height, his hair, but Ben was still in a downward spiral and not letting anyone in. He was barely sleeping, no one knew (Ellen probably did) He didn't eat as much No notice. And if he did no one said anything. (Ellen probably did) he kept his body in shape and joined all the club's. He had a few one nights stands but it never went further. However his gambling problems began to really start hectic. Considering the outing if mutants and Ama, Ben a lot to worry about. His father was pressuring him into getting into politics and Law and he just gave in. He switched out his comic and math books for law and politics even though it was a year early

Eighteen

During the outbreak his powers took him on a wild ride, gambling in New York, Minnesota, Missouri anywhere it was legal. Money the legal way... shady dice games in the alley way and then Ellen bailing him out of jail the one time he actually wasn't doing anything wrong. He was taking a short cut to his hotel room and was stopped and arrested thinking to be apart of a dice game that lead to a brawl, but was released after security cameras captured him at the corner store getting a Fuze and a sandwich. He started school and is majoring in. political studies and Pre-law/law. He still refuses to talk to LDR, it's probably the lingering feelings.
