Were there really gradations of freaking out? Nico had to wonder that, even as he stood there staring at the guy he was still fairly convinced was more than a little crazy. who even used "shan't" in this day and age? It didn't even sound right. Nico almost wanted to say as much, though that would require actually talking and he still wasn't a big fan of doing that unless he had to.
"Why would I?" Nico asked, looking at the lights, then at Martin, then at the stuff Martin had. Was there some sort of reason he should be going to tell someone? Nico didn't really see one. "I'm not seeing anything anyone needs to worry about," he said, pulling his attention back to look at the guy again. Maybe that would cool him down? If he didn't think that Nico was going to run off and, well, tattle?

Martin gave Nico another look over before shaking his head, as if ashamed by Nico's question. "Why wouldn't you? You've just witnessed a guy, who you must surely believe to have more then a few bolts loose, take chemicals from the labs and attempt to shortwire the lights (which I'm sure I could still do). So my next question is, what would worry you?" He was now just enjoying messing around with Nico, to see what he would do.

Why wouldn't...
See, this, this is why Nico generally avoided crazy people, just as a sort of rule of thumb. They ranted and raved like this and you were left standing there staring at them and wondering if they'd somehow sneaked their way out of the straight jacket. Nico shouldn't have indulged his curiosity: he should have just walked away when he'd had the chance. Now? Now it was too late.
Still, he just shrugged at the question. Not that he expected that to be enough and, not wanting to have further, prolonged discussions with this semi-crazy person, Nico added: "Nothing here's gonna matter to me."
Unless the guy snapped and attacked. Then Nico might actually care. Would he tell though? Probably not.
Never rat out the crazy people; not if you like sleeping at night.

Okay, now Nico was just becoming boring. No reaction what so ever. Martin should probably let him leave. Probably.
He waved a hand towards the door, gesturing that Nico may leave, and then started to move towards him slowly "Unfortunely, my friend, I must let leave. For you have lost the game. How, I hear you ask yourself? Why you have forgot to ask me a question and this goes against the rules of the game. After one question, and the corrosponding answer, there must come another question. So..." he bowed and kept a hand open towards the door "Adios Amigo"

Don't move
And so Nico did. He held completely still, his eyes only just following the crazy guy as he edged around. Yeah, he hadn't asked a question, though several popped into Nico's head now. No, he just contended himself with watching as the other guy moved about, edging toward the door. Yes, go, just do that and...
Gone.
Nico stood still for a moment before looking around. He noticed the damage Martin did but, well, he'd been there for it. For a brief moment he almost thought of trying to do something to repair it, even took a step forward. Then he remembered the likelihood of anyone actually believing that he was repairing instead of damaging further. That caused him to step back, then step away, and then leave the room entirely, figuring the mess would just be someone else's problem to deal with.
