Drew did as he was told and fell silent. He watched Erika as she spoke. Every word went straight to his heart brought out a warmth that was rarely felt in the boy. He was supposed to be attracted to logical, reasonable things. Giving himself over to another person like this, to admit freely that Erika had such a control over him, was alarming, frightening and comforting at the same time. If he had so much as an inkling of doubt in regards to Erika's feelings about him he wouldn't be able to let himself be so taken by her.
He smiled, his arm slipping around her as she moved closer. He was tempted to just have the driver take them around in circles for a few hours so they wouldn't have to move and could just bask in the moment. He couldn't imagine anything making him want to leave this behind. Drew kissed the top of Erika's head. "I'm going to hold you to that, you know?" His arm snaked around her and squeezed her tightly. And a tear most certainly did not slowly find its way down his cheek as he did so. "I love you too. So much."
The subtle beep and blinking red light that signaled the two teenagers the final approach into their South American destination was imminent slowly wrested Drew from a deep, comfortable sleep. he hadn't found himself able to get down for the night well since he'd left Erika on such a horrible note. The two had shared a few stiff drinks, remained close, and then adjourned to the spacious bedroom of the private plane for some along time. It had been a heated, passionate experience shared by the two of them before they drifted off for some much needed sleep.
Drew stirred first, becoming faintly aware of the signal before the feeling of the soft, warm body next to him. He let out a low groan, not wanting to move and simply relishing in the sensation of the nude form that had fallen asleep in his arms. Without a word he kissed her lips, brushing a tangled swath of hair from her face. The night had been anything but inactive and, even though her hair was a mess (as was his) and they both had the groggy, sleepy look of two people who really didn't wish to get out of bed, Drew found himself utterly captivated by the brunette in his arms. If anything, the brief moment before she awoke only cemented what he already knew: Erika Bellefonte was, without a doubt, the girl he was destined to be with.
