Of course she would ask him what he could be interested in. She gave away her full name, surely she expected him to want something about it. She was not entirely wrong. But there was more he could mention that wouldn’t have him lie. The best way to lie was to stick it as closely as possible to the truth. “You don’t think you can interest someone?” He studied her for a moment, wondering how much he should tell. Obviously, anything regarding her name was out of the question and he knew that his previous reaction wouldn’t have her believe he thought her hot and just wanted to flirt with her. He wondered if she ever believed a guy who came to her just because he thought she was cute. He bet she still ate him alive anyway. “I’ve had an acquaintance of mine who mentioned you before and I didn’t think I’d fall on you like this. I just wanted to see if what I heard was right.” It wasn’t that much of a lie and if she wanted to bother with him a little more, she would then ask him to elaborate on this and tell her who this ‘acquaintance’ was. He would then know if it was all worth it or if he should not simply wait for another time to get to her.

Akeem didn’t plan on hiding his identity from her. Even without his last name, it shouldn’t be too hard to find out anything she might want to know about him. There weren’t many like him around here. He shrugged, trying to act as if anything she could say to push him away was not meant to work. She didn’t want to know how he could get such a name? Fine with him. “I just got enough terrorist jokes not to want any more. Though I suppose it’s either that or pharaoh ones...” At least she didn’t say any.

He stopped to stare at her as she pointed out she didn’t have more time to deal with him. He made a face like he was disappointed in her choice of words. “Please, don’t be like that. If you wanted to put an end to this, you didn’t have to go with the ‘my time is more precious than your time’ line. That is so cliché. And pretentious.” he didn’t seem offended at all. In fact, he was playing with those words. He walked behind her until he was on the other side and took a good look at her before finally smiling. “I suppose I had nothing more to put on the table. Other than wanting to enjoy your company a little more. You don’t seem so bad... as long as nothing triggers your power.”

"Quite the contrary," she replied, her eyebrow quirking as she tossed a quick glance towards the boy. She knew all too well how interesting her family could be, just because of their last name and reputation. It surely didn't help that the girl generally speaking kept out of the public eye. "That wasn't my question though." He continued then, and claimed that his friend had told him something about her. Which was odd, because generally speaking, her brother was the one people talked about. Not that it mattered of course, but it was interesting nonetheless.

"And what did your friend say?" Whatever it was, he could spit it out and they could be done with this so that Evelyn could move on. However, she had a feeling the boy wasn't going to make it quite that easy.

"Charming," she commented idly; she didn't understand at all why he bothered telling her this. It wasn't like Evelyn was going to sink so low she started making fun of his name. That wasn't quite Evelyn's style. Then again, the boy probably didn't know that.

Cautiously, Evelyn watched the boy as he spoke; there were a few names put in there, which honestly, Eve could care less about. She wasn't so prideful she'd bite on the obvious bait. If he wanted to think of her as cliche and pretentious, so be it. It didn't change the fact, and the fact was that her time was precious, and there was plenty of things she'd rather do than play this silly cat and mouse game. He moved closer then and found himself standing next to her. Shaking her head, the brunette continued walking. "Flattery will get you nowhere, Mr. Ten-Amen."

“Actually, it’s the answer to the question,” he pointed out. What else could he find interesting here other than her? Certainly not her water bottle. But Evelyn obviously assumed he was here only because she was a Conner. It was not entirely true but not as much because of the reputation her family had then what he heard from Ellen. He was curious. She told him about them and he wanted to see for himself. If Evelyn was curious about what his friend said, her tone did not imply that. He was still going to answer her. “Just to watch out for you and your brother. She doesn’t like you very much. She seems to think you might be onto her or something.” Friend was a big word to describe his relationship with Ellen. Honestly, her attitude of acting like she was better than everyone else irked him. He was no employee she could order to do things with a snap of her fingers. In his mind, he was the one using her. And he thought it would be a lot more interesting if he involved Evelyn too. It really had been such a perfect coincidence he happened to meet her now.

The fact Akeem might just give someone the whole act of his time being too precious to waste it on them did not come to his mind as he told her not to use it with him. It was very annoying to be treated like an insect and Akeem wasn’t good at accepting it and just move on. “You mean it won’t with you,” he corrected, thus proving it did work before. He still decided to walk alongside her but this time, he thought about releasing some pheromones in the air. He wanted her to trust him more. He didn’t know how well it would work, as she seemed so guarded. He wanted to use just a little of them, so that she would open up and stop treating him like he was not even worthy of her remembering his name. “You should relax. Not everyone who is talking to you do it just because of your name. I want to talk with Evelyn, not Miss Conner.”[/color

"Then your friend is absolutely correct in her assumptions." It was hardly surprising. Yes, people ought to watch out for both Evelyn and her brother. Not because of their last name or their money, but because they were crafty and made quite the dangerous enemies. And that someone didn't like her or her brother was hardly surprising, though, it was hardly hard to tell which friend the boy was talking about. The only one she knew who would run around bad mouthing them as such was a certain blonde who thought too highly of herself and her makeshift social status.

It didn't matter though. Evelyn didn't really care. Why on earth would she?

Sighing, the brunette's head shook faintly. Clearly, this guy had a way of argumentative everything she said, and that was getting rather old. It wasn't as much her not trusting the boy as getting bored with the way this conversation was headed. Evelyn only put her trust in two people; her brother and her bodyguard. And it wasn't because she had something to hide; in fact, Evelyn was an open book. She prided herself with having few secrets. It all came down to whether or not she liked someone, and well, that alone was quite the feat to achieve.

"They're one and the same, Mr. Ten-Amen," she replied, tossing the boy a glance. "And I assure you that I'm quite relaxed already. And truth be told, I really don't care for your reasons, as long as said reasons don't waste my time." She was Miss. Conner, and Miss. Conner was Evelyn. It really was that simple.

“That I must watch out for you or that you are out to get her?” Akeem asked Evelyn. To call Ellen a friend was not quite right as he was not even sure he could tolerate her. She was ready to pay him so that he would not use his power on her, something he didn’t even think about, so that was enough for him. Although being treating like an employee was not to please him much. She had him curious about the Conners however. He didn’t expect to meet with one of them like this. “If you don’t mind, I’d rather make my own opinion of people.”

Akeem told Evelyn of his connection to Ellen even though it might not be a good thing just so she knew. He had no problem double playing the girl, so long as he was not hurt in the process. She was the one feuding with the Conners, not him. He would not get involved in that but he wouldn’t mind watching or even setting a few things in motion to make it more entertaining.

Did Akeem purposefully use his power or was his power picking on the fact she was walking away and started working on her to help him out? Those were details to him that he tended not to care about but it seemed to happen often that, when he really wanted someone to bother with him a little while longer, his power would then work on them. He tilted his head to the side, fully aware that any movement from him would just send the pheromones in the air and since she was close to hi, she would be affected. He didn’t know what she did when trusting someone however so it was hard to tell what was going to happen. “Are you saying you are always that technical with everyone?”

Obviously, if he wanted to try his hand on her, he would have to let her go and hope she had been intrigued enough to bother looking him up. There had to be a way to know she did that, right? “Fine. I’m sorry I took too much of your time. Like I said, I’d rather make my own opinion of people. I got curious, is all. Didn’t want to be a nuisance.”

"I suppose time will tell," she replied, her voice carrying a slight sardonic tone. The boy seemed, against all odds, to be capable of making his own mind. That had never been the issue, to be honest. It was just incredibly curious to see him trying to play both sides for his own gain - assuming that was what he was doing, anyways. He clearly wasn't the kind of person one trusted with their secrets, seeing as how he was already letting the other part down, by telling Eve that there was someone - it was rather obvious who this someone was - was running around, talking smack. Curious indeed. Quite the character. "Is that so," she replied absentmindedly.

Finally, the brunette stopped. Sighing, her arms came up to cross over her chest as she turned to face him. She didn't understand why she bothered, or why she hadn't walked away already, but that hardly mattered. "Yes," she replied dryly. "That is exactly what I'm saying." Heck, she was even this technical with her own brother. Less cold, of course, but still technical. That was simply how the brunette was, personality wise. It came with the whole "black and white" thought process she so often found herself so drawn to.

"Sure you didn't," she said sarcastically as her eyebrow quirked. It was obvious she didn't buy it. "You clearly picked the wrong sibling to be curious about. Now, unless you have something more stationary to discuss instead of throwing random comments about people not liking me or my brother, because I can assure you we're already aware, I'm going to take my leave." Even Evelyn had to admit that there was something about this boy that picked at her curiosity, but that didn't at all mean she enjoyed letting herself get pulled towards it.

Akeem was not against playing both of them. Ellen was vindictive and didn’t want to get on her bad side but the Conners had means to make his life a living hell as well. Besides, it might be nice to know if Evelyn had anything planned against the girl. Ellen only wanted him not to use his power on her and he was not, wasn’t he?

Honestly, Akeem was not sure if he could deal with Evelyn all day. She was so... stiff? That seemed to be the nicest way to say it, or business-like maybe, though cold heart bitch was more the word he thought of. Still, she was rather pretty and he still wanted to believe there was something he could do with her. Maybe next time he should actually spray some love pheromones? Unless she was that technical even in love. He could totally see her like that and suddenly she lost some of her appeal.

He restrained the sigh he was about to let out as she did not believe him. “Feel free to think what you want of me,” he replied, trying to sound as careless about this as possible, even though he did not like it one bit. This girl was playing hard and Akeem started to realise he might not be at her level. “No, I’d say I got the perfect sibling to be curious about,” he argued with her, giving her a little nod of the head also. He was not seeing himself going after a guy and if he was anything like her, he’d prefer it to be a pretty girl he went after.

She was still focused on leaving. This time he sighed, trying to make it sound as resigned as possible. “Fine. Anyway, it was time to part ways,” he pointed out, literally pointing in the direction of the junction in the hallways that would lead him to the south wing. He still took the time before going anywhere to lean slightly towards her. “But don’t think I’m giving up just yet,” he told her with a grin. He walked passed her turning only to add. “I’ll see you again, Miss Conner.” And then he was on his way.

Squinting, Evelyn watched the boy curiously. He had the perfect sibling to be curious about? She somehow doubted that, and saw it as nothing more than another attempt at empty flattery. Clearly, this boy was getting far too cocky for his own good, and she couldn't see why on earth he'd bother. What was he trying to do, charm her? Well, he clearly was shit out of luck. Evelyn wasn't easily charmed. She wasn't the kind of girl who fell for anyone who paid attention to her or flattered her in some way or another. And this boy was no exception.

Nodding in agreement, Evelyn's lips parted. "That it is," she said. He continued then, which had Evelyn rolling her eyes. It was almost a little funny, simply because he thought there was anything to actually give up on. She'd much rather have him stop beating around the bush and tell her exactly what it was that he wanted, as opposed to going back and forth and tossing cryptic sentences at her. Ah well, at the end of the day, she supposed it didn't matter.
