Kiara Elizabeth Kennedy
FACE CLAIM: Ashley Moore
---------------------------------
AGE: 18
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Pansexual
POSITION: College Student
POWER: Self-duplication
Kiara has the power to duplicate herself. Meaning that with concentration she can make exact copies of herself. This in includes any physical markers like birth marks, scars or allergies. She shares a mental link with her duplicates cause her duplicates to have the same information, memories, and feelings as Kiara does.
When she duplicates herself she's copying herself at exact at the moment meaning her appearance and mental state will be the same for the duplicate. This means if she's angry or sad the duplicate will be that way too. Even though her duplicates are exact copies they have the ability to think and form their own opinons which could result in them having their own personalitie depending on what's happening at that moment.
The duplication process works much like cell splitting works, the cells seperate from her body and become an exact copy of her (picture taking clay and streching it into two equal pieces but much faster.) All kiara does is concerates on splitting herself into the number of copies she wants to make at the time. (So if she wants to make two copies she has to concentrate on making two copies) Even though she can make more than one copy at a time the copies appear one by one.
Reobsorbing the copies requires kiara to concentrate on her copies melding into her and becoming one again. Unlike making the copies she can has to concentrate on reobsorbing them one by one. She also absorbs her duplicates memories, feelings and anything else. Because of the mental link she feels any pain, scars, or injuries her duplicates have once they're reobsorbed.
LIMITATIONS:
Her power only works on herself
Her duplicates can't travel more than a half mile to a mile away from her depending on how many there are.
She can only make at max seven copies of herself at one time but at her current level it’s more like two or three
The more exhausted she is the shorter the time period her duplicates last.
Copies of herself aren't always exact, Sometimes come out naked and have to borrow some. In extreme cases sometimes the dupliates have different eye colors or slightly shorter hair. Though with the eye color means that they either look closer to hazel or greenish hazel since depending on the light her eyes could be both.
A single duplicate self last at max eight hours, though most of the time they're only around for an hour or two before she tried to reobsorb them.
The more she duplicates herself the weaker she gets as they borrow from her strength to stay real.
Extreme pain causes the duplicates to absorb back into her.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
When duplicating herself she feels slight discomfort and the more copies she makes at one time the less discomfort she feels, however it's like a rubber band the more you stretch it the hard the backlash is when it snas back. This means that the pain can be mild to extreme when reobsorb the duplicates causing splitting headaches aches and pains.Sometimes she duplicates herself without meaning to especially when she feels extremes of any emotion.
She becomes extremely exhausted if she tries to make more copies than her power level can grasp at the time. Because the limited control she has over her duplicates require a link to be formed between them she feels the same pain they feel. The link also explains why when they're absorbed she retains a bit of their personality.
Kiara has a borderline personality disorder because of the fact that when she absorbs her duplicates some of their personalities remain with her for a short period of time from several hours to several days. She suffers from panic attacks from the fear that she’s only a copy and one of her duplicates is the real her. Because her power requires her to loan energy to her duplicates, her body copes by speeding up her metabolism causing her to eat constantly. She suffers from hallucinations because some of the things her duplicates sees don’t exactly register as memories.
HEIGHT: 5’6
HAIR COLOR: light brown/blondish
EYE COLOR: Her eyes are greenish hazel depending on how the light hits her eyes and if you run into one of her duplicates you could get either or.
MISC: She has a scar running from the top of her left shoulder to her elbow that appears on all her duplicates. Though it seems to be fading it’s still a light pink color thats visible against her skin. She dresses depending on her mood and a lot of the time she goes from child like to racey clothing, light makeup to dark make up. she’s also very obsessed with music and yoga. She’s always eating, be it chips to take out.
PERSONALITY: Kiara isn’t a very trusting person not only does she not like people, she feels as if they’ll never really understand her. She’s also very unforgiving, all it takes it was bad move to be forever on her shit list. On the outside she’s a very bubbly person and very friendly but she can never really form stable relationships without running away. She’s incredibly scared of commitment and doesn’t believe in love at all. At the same time she realizes that sexual attraction and love are two different things.
Kiara is extremely okay with her sexaulity because her grandparents were always open with came to things like that she never had to wonder about anything. Likewise she’s a very straightforward person unless she’s up to something.
At the same time Kiara is also very shy and quiet not wanting to be around any loud noises and more often than not it’s because it causes her powers to activate without her permission. she’s smart and values school and the importances of education but she skips class when things become too much for her to handle.
SECRET(S): Her grandparents had her committed right before Scouts came and took her to Bellefonte Academy. Kiara skips classes on wednesdays because she’s terrified and paranoid something bad will happen. She also takes medication for anxiety and hallucinations. She’s addicted to adderal and oxycontin.
FATHER: Andrew Jameson (dead) Garrett Jameson (grandfather)
MOTHER: Lisa Kennedy (dead) Hannah Jameson (grandmother)
SIBLINGS: N/A
WORTHY MENTIONS: Nope
CHILDHOOD:
There are times where people wished they would forget certain memories or periods of their life and most importantly certain people. She wished she could forget the way her father laughed and smiled, and how he drank himself sick. Or the words he said when they left that day. Her parents were killed in a car accident her father’s drunk driving caused the car to hit a railing and spin out of control.
Her grandparents were honest and open people but they were incredibly judgmental and fear full. It’s probably better to describe them as conditionally open due to the fact that they shun what they don't understand. They cared about her but her parent’s weren’t married and they saw her as a burdened. Mostly taking her on because it would look bad if they didn’t. They raised Kiara to believe that things like Sexual preference and Gender were feelings that shouldn’t be ignore and explored because it was okay during that time. However at the same time she wasn’t to stick out too much or like things that no one else liked. They could handle having a “queer child” but not a weird one.
she was always random and smart child, she'd go through periods of being bubbly and outgoing and then dark and moody. Sometimes she wanted people around and then other times she was sitting in the shade reading a book and plotting world domination. She always got good grades in school as as long as her grades didn't suffer she was okay with her grandparents.
ADOLESCENCE:
When she was twelve she had her first taste of alcohol, her grandparents had decided that they should try having a date night again. It was nearly empty still has a kid it didn't take that much to get her drunk and he clumsily hid the bottle in the trash can. Because of her grandfather’s drinking habits the bottle wasn't missed or thought to be have taken by Kiara. Over the years she continued, testing the limits of how much she could drink before the bottles just started disappearing with her problems.
When she was fourteen she started having nightmares about the car crash that killed her parents. She told her grandparents about them and they convinced her it was just a dream meanwhile sharing a look of concern for their granddaughters mental wellbeing. Eventually she was convinced that perhaps it was a bad dream as she had never been there. She kept having the same nightmare for awhile until she couldn't remember the dreams. She was getting increasingly paranoid and wouldn't sleep until she had no choice but to sleep. She found out that adderall could help her stay awake and that a boy at her school sold it, eventually she got hooked.
She tried to make things okay, she tried to hang out with people like her old friends but she traded them in for people she could hold stuff in common with. She grew to hate those people who had everything figured out and parents who loved them. She of course started hanging with the “wrong crowd”, when she was just about to turn sixteen. She found it easier to hang out with the burn outs- they didn't care how old you were just that you were supplying their habit with your money and they yours. They introduced her Oxycontin only making the problem worse. It was very easy for her to lie about her age, for awhile she had forgotten about her dreams and that she wasn't exactly eighteen.
Her grandparents were becoming increasingly worried with the missing curfews, the weird friends sleeping on her floor and the smell of alcohol saturating her clothes. They demanded she started to hang out with her old friends before they sent her away so she tried to. Still she hung out with her new friends but made an effort to be seen with people her grandparents approved of. And things got worse, she had no longer stuck to the basics but was now into things that made the prettiest of colors dance around your eyes and the world around you.
It was her sixteenth birthday and she was wandering around the park, high off of whatever she had gotten from one of her friends. She had spent four hours chasing the colors around the park and swinging on the swings when some of her old friends found her. They proceeded to get into a fight and in anger her power finally manifested and she copied herself. In fear of what happened she was pushed and landed into some glass and the pain made her reabsorb her copies and then scream out in pain, a cut from her shoulder to her elbow was the result. She sat there for awhile trying to go over what happened convinced she was having a bad trip. Once of her friends found her and helped her to not knowing her grandparents were there.
After telling her grandparents what happened and insisting that it was real and not some kind of hallucination they loaded her into the car and took her to the hospital. After she was stitched up it was discovered that she was high on whatever she had took at the time so they committed her. Once she was sober and able to talk she spilled the beans about her sleeping problems, dreams and panic. She was diagnosed with insomnia which explained the hallucination and anxiety with explained the panic attacks after her grandparents explained the “problems” they had with their granddaughter.
A recruiter came to take her to the academy and explained to her grandparents what was going on and they reluctantly agreed that she wasn’t crazy. Kiara still couldn't forgive them for not believing her. She told her friends she was going to some drug rehab program and eventually lost touch with them.
Kiara has gotten used to being at school, she can’t say that she considers the place home but she finds herself more comfortable around people like her than her home town. She doesn't think that the school really benefited her in anyways but then again she’s kind of self-absorbed most of them time. She joined the cheerleading team because her mom had been a cheerleader when she was in high school. She even ran into one of her old friends from georgia and they became thick as thieves getting into the same things that they had before.
Going to a new school it was hard to support her habit, a lot times withdrawals had her so paranoid she couldn't function. She learned to always keep her habit underwraps and feed it a little at a time to keep the edge off. She didn't know how long it would be until she could find something to help her out. Coupled with meds for anxiety and other things she was prescribed to take she felt like she could handle being out and in public more. She tried to visit her grandparents and for awhile that went fine, they were concerned about her having an episode so they made sure to keep friends away while she visited.
ADULTHOOD:
Upon turning eighteen she spent a month of the summer trying to reconnect with her grandparents but she knew that it was hopeless. They present most of the month skirting around each other and trying to find the right words to say. They gave her a car though, as a way to make up for the missed birthdays but she couldn't trust them and they didn't trust her. Upon that realization she spent most of that month with her old friends doing what they usually did until it was time for school to start again. She knew that she couldn’t cause too much a fuss seeing as Spectre was out and about cracking down on outburst.
At the start of school she decided that she was going to be a model slash photography so she’s majoring in Photography. It took a while for her decided what she wanted to be but she thinks traveling the world and becoming a freelance photographer would be awesome. The down side is that she doesn't think she'll do very well in big cities and different place. She’s so used to being a small town georgia girl that she doesn’t know if she really wants to change.
SAMPLE:
Kiara groaned at the sound of her alarm clock blaring from across the room. She didn’t know who set the alarm but she was not getting up at...what time was it? Reaching towards her night-stand and picking up her phone off the charger she looked at the time 11am blared back at her.
She quickly tried to leave the bed, ending up in a heap on the floor in efforts. She shrugged off the pain and ran towards her bathroom to get ready for the day. She was running extremely late and would be late if she wasn’t careful. It normally took her an hour to get ready but she opted for a more natural look. Throwing on a pair of sweatpants and a tank top she was out the door.
She had her back slung over her shoulders, her scrunchie clenched between her teeth and he brush under her arms as he tried to put on her sneakers. She finally managed and put her hair in a ponytail. It’s not like she had anywhere important to go, she was probably going to hang out somewhere and drink coffee. Still she'd miss breakfast at all the fast food restaurants if she wasn't careful. She finally came to her car, throwing her bag in the passenger seat and starting the engine. Okay so maybe she was rushing for no apparent reason, but having a car was no reason to be move slow.
