Subject 5: Roxana Strix, potentially a Nazi

[Roxana Strix]

There was probably more of a problem that would go along with ending the feline's life, but Roxana was not concerned about it at the moment. She was already wondering if anyone would even notice or miss him walking around campus. She figured there was a student who had walked a cat onto campus as their pet. All Rox would have to do was let that walk around campus and that should have been enough for the masses to not really notice anything. Still, she did not really want to fight a cat, that would be a bit hard to cover up unless she impaled him right away before he could land a scratch on her.

Rox still figured it would be an easy fight all the same. She just had to make a dagger, and one flick of the wrist and it was done. Then again, it was always easier to beat someone when she didn't have to worry about not killing them. Her light blue eyes looked over the next text before she let out a small sigh. He was going to play the game that way. She should have expected as much. She was not really thinking it through, at all. She supposed she should have, trying to figure out the feline’s angle and why he was approaching her of all people.

"What...do you think I'm DL?" Roxana asked, just taking a stab in the dark. He said he been asking around, and liking was trying to find out who DL was or even likely asking those she had bothered before on her little blog. She hoped Humphries took into account that DL had been in business before Roxana had even transferred here. Plus what did she have to gain from making a blog of that nature. Sure it was easy enough for her to get the information that DL got her hands on, but why would Rox post it up? Her life was about secretes and keeping things under lock and key.

Unless the feline possible thought she was a source of giving DL information. Again, Rox could easily do such a thing, but what would her motivation behind it be? A hand went up to mess with her own hair a little as she started to think. She really didn't have time for this, but now she was a little curious. "So you are just here to try and intimidate me in some way or..." Roxana went to ask before her voice trailed off and she just went back to thinking.

[Humphries]

Humphries had to tilt his head at her question. Odd, but they didn't usually jump directly to that. It was either a statement to attempt to unseat him, making him uneasy and question his decision to approach her, or she truly was attempting to hide something. Then again, Humphries knew full well that the girl was at least hiding a certain something, so throwing up smoke screens would be in her best interest.

Still, no response as she continued. Her comment had him letting out a meow and flicking his tail, contorting again: One may be many things, but one is hardly intimidating, especially for specimens such as yourself. being possible your harming of me is quite potentially. Not that One is particularly worried, but even you would have to admit that the idea is most humorous

Humphries then rose, walking quite purposefully down the bed, crossing over and around for a few moments. He eventually hopped onto the closest shelf or bookcase, enjoying the added height. It sent of a few bursts of pleasure in his feline brain, especially as he looked down. being of curiosity is One, even if doing so may be potentially causing of one's trouble. ROXANA, you are most curious of a specimen, and One does need something to amuse oneself.

And the cat purred.

Roxana of course was hiding a lot of things, that was the way of her life. When you grew up in the family that she did, had the job that she did, and then especially when you were trying to understand real feelings; there was a lot to hide. No one needed to concern themselves with such things; it was better if people didn't ask questions and try to figure things out. Had no one ever learned that if you pushed things too far, you typically ended up dead?

She figured people would have a bit more care about their lives and understand when they were pointless poking a sleeping bear. All they were going to get was an angry bear that was going to kill them when it did awaken from the constant poking around. He was not giving her any answer, just sitting there like a cat. Her light blue eyes followed the feline as he moves through her room, going onto higher ground so he would be able to look down at her. Perhaps he felt safer up there; Rox was not completely concerned about that matter.

The next text came in about how he could not really be intimidating, especially to someone like Roxana. That was true, but she had asked just in case he was not aware of how she was not intimidated at all. If anything she was curious and slightly agitated at having to play at some game of some sort. She was in no mood for games; she never really liked The Game to begin with. She preferred to be told by players of the game what she needed to do and be done with it. "Cats have a nasty scratch." Rox said in response to his text after a moment. It was a laughable notion of her being earful of him, but she didn't laugh.

"So you are just here because you found me...interesting? I don't have time for games Humphries. If there is anything valid to this meeting other than wanting to meet me in person, I suggest you get to it." Roxana suggested. She didn't get why the cat would be interested in her. She didn't get anyone would, they should have just known from the vibe that being involved with her was risky. He seemed to be aware of that, yet here he was. In her room and making her wonder what was really going on here. Or was it really all that simple?

Oh yes, Humphries did have a nasty scratch. He chuckled there, tempted to take the metaphor a step further, to suggest something more. However, he didn't quite want to taunt her overmuch: he was doing quite a bit of that as it was without piling yet more upon it.

The cat nodded his head slightly as Roxana repeated the question regarding how he found her interesting. There was some impatience in there, insisting that there was no time for games. If cats could sigh, Humphries would have done it. He did pause to lick himself a few times before sending the message:

Playing games is often all we have time for the doing, considering the players and board. Being here to know you and begin the working of understanding what you are about and what you are the doing is the purpose Humphries pulled up and purred. It was something of a declaration there: his pointing out that she was, in fact, someone he was going to be watching. If she didn't see it as that, well, perhaps he had overestimated her.

It really did feel like the cat was just playing some kind of game with her, and she didn't want to deal with it. Why did he have an interest in her? Was he a threat? Could she use him as a possibly ally? It would be beneficial to have someone that could go places without being fully noticed and fit in certain locations. They had people like Humphries that worked for her organization and now that she was thinking about it, he would actually be useful.

He had the power and the personality for it all but she was not sure if he could just take orders. That was something that she noted down to write in her next report which she was saving to do a large one the next time she would go to write one. She still did reports but there were those that were more official and those that were just and update to what was going on. Now he liked himself, making her wait before her phone buzzed and she could read the text.

"So basically you are going to be watching me, regardless if I tell you not to?" Roxana asked, but she didn't really need an answer to it. It would be a problem having him follow her around, especially if he had access to her room. It meant she was going to have to start doing a lot more of her work off campus, which was easy enough. Unfortunately, that would mean that she would have less time to do the things that she enjoyed, but sacrifices.

"I will warn you that if you insist on watching me for too long, you are going to see your nine lives start to dwindle away. It would be unfortunate to lose such a vigilant member of security but such in the price for sticking ones nose in places it does not belong." Roxana said as she closed her window and moved to pick up her sketch book and the gift for her brother that she was originally here for.

[Humphries]

Humphries flicked his tail at Roxana's query. Yes, he did intend on watching her. He was tempted to point out that this was technically his job, and the chances of his actually getting in trouble for doing so were rather on the slim side. He'd been partially responsible for helping to save the school from the fire, and had been one of those who'd found out about Elsa's little Council. The cat held many of the cards, and he knew when to start playing them.

He also apparently knew when to bathe himself, because he'd started doing so now, even stretching his limbs out as he did.

The girl threatened, and Humphries kept licking. She spoke of the shame of losing him, and Humphries kept licking. She moved, and Humphries kept licking. When she stopped, Humphries turned to her, his eyes widening and then narrowing slightly to better observe her.

Being threatening of member of security are you? Much ashamed of you one is being. Perhaps putting you into report one should be doing? Girl needs to be careful: Girl is leaving too much of a trail as is, and cats are masters of trail followed. Humphries flicked his tail and rose fully, perching and looking over at Roxana now, his posture as smug as ever.

Roxana was not bothered by the fact that Humphries started to just lick himself, so long as he did not hurl up a hair ball on her floor. Hair balls were not artistic and were very disgusting and would be the felines fault for licking himself instead of just having someone give him a bath. Roxana didn't feel bad and didn't hold back from her threat. Well, the threat itself was a docile one. One that was not meant to strike fear into his hear but to serve as a warning.

She didn't really want to have to kill a cat but it would certainly be easier than killing a human. Well...Roxana could kill anyone or anything without much a problem, but early one she was told to view someone as an animal when it came to killing them. That way you did not hesitate, didn't think about how they were just like you because they were just an animal who acted on instincts and would not hesitate to kill you. The message came in, Roxana read it, but she did not respond right away, focused on making sure she had everything.

"Take it as more of a warning. I understand this game but I fear unfortunately for you I am not very good at playing it. I don't like playing it and do things a certain way and allow other to deal with games such as this." Roxana said, stuffing the things into the little bag she brought. Yes, she had to be careful, but she was confident with her connections she would be fine or she would spin things in such a way that she was not worried about it too much. It would be the felines own fault if he kept following this trail. "Was there anything else, or are you done now?" Roxana sked, looking up at the cat.

If anything, it felt like he came here to make an enemy and Rox was going to keep him on her radar for a little while. He was just a cat, but he was a mutant who just got stuck being a cat so she could not count him out just yet. He could prove useful if he changed his ways to not go against Rox or he could remain how he was and cause a problem for himself and her down the road.

Humphries wasn't certain that the young woman actually understood the game. She may know of it, but she clearly didn't quite understand all the rules. the cat was sorely tempted to attempt to train the young woman in these matters, but at the same time, he didn't wish to keep a potential opponent informed. His whole purpose had been to unsettle Roxana, and he seemed to have accomplished that quiet handily.

was there anything else. Humphries kept licking himself for a bit more, then paused, tilting his head to the side. He waited a few seconds before contorting. at time being present, there is only so much to be considering. be on the lookout, you should be doing. One is investigating and making certain to do one's job. Not being reason we cannot being allied

With that, Humphries bobbed his head, hopped down from the dresser, and trotted out the door, as though that was all that needed to be said about the conversation and his entire purpose in being there had been fulfilled.

Roxana waited for the text to come in, thankful that she actually had a decent patience level, but it had been worn down by this whole interaction. It was hard to be patience with someone you felt had disrespected you, but she waited all the same. She was still reading the text that came in when her blue eyes looked up to see Humphries heading out. Apparently that was all he had to say, and while Roxana was not fully certain what he had been getting at, she had a tough idea. It was difficult to communicate with someone over text messages, especially when the message came out in a cryptic manner.

Roxana was not the kind of employee who handles that sort of thing; she was the type to rack up a body count. She said nothing, even stood still for a moment, until she was certain the cat was gone. Then she did one least check around her room to note the location where he had gotten his little cloaks into. Once that was done she gathered up all her thing, headed out her room, and locked the door behind her. Hopefully she would not return to find someone else just hanging out in her room, or else she was going to have to put in her own set of locks.
