APPEARANCE SECTION: Varg Asbjornsen stands at 5'11" and weighs 140lbs. Though not incredibly muscular and appearing average size he is fit. His face is surrounded by long, dark brown hair and the stubble of a beard. Grey eyes peak out from under dark eyebrows and a pale forehead. The most prominent features on his face are his angular nose and his strong, square jawline.
Varg's taste in clothes would best be called minimalist. He prefers to own as little as possible and to make sure his entire wardrobe matches all of his clothes are either black, white, or a charcoal grey. Long sleeve, white button-down shirts are a staple of his wardrobe, usually left with the top button undone. Slim-fitting black or charcoal chinos are his go-to pants, though during his downtime he prefers a pair of slim-fitting black jeans. Varg has found that it is better to invest in higher quality clothing rather than many articles of clothing and as a result only owns one pair of shoes, a pair of black leather chelsea boots. Once the colder weather strikes he often bundles up in a black wool overcoat and a charcoal scarf.
MUST HAVE APPAREL: He owns one necklace that he refuses to remove, a sterling silver Odrœrir pendant that has been passed down through his family. The Odrœrir is as symbol relating to the Norse god Odin; it depicts three interlocking drinking horns and symbolizes the three drinks Odin took from the mead of poetry. The pendant was originally owned by his great-grandfather, a poet, and has been passed down through the first-born sons in his family since its acquisition. The only other piece of jewelry he wears is a minimal black watch on his left wrist.

He holds strong to the belief that he should deal with his problems on his own, only seeking outside assistance when all other avenues have failed him He is shown to place more value in the written word than in the sword, but knows that both have a time and a place. Varg's fatal flaw lies in his quick temper and unrelenting fury, this often loses him many friends and he values those that stand by him through it all.
EXTRA QUIRK: Varg is a smoker, often seeking to be outside purely for the fact that he can smoke. He despises the heat and often finds it hard to think in it, instead he prefers the cold and snow when he can get it. Varg's favourite breakfast is blood pancakes with lingonberry jam.

His parents discovered at an early age that he had a gift for prose and the written word, his mother decided to foster this gift further by giving him musical lessons from the age of five. Around the age of seven Varg met Fridtjof Ragnarsen, a new neighbour who had just moved to Tromsø from the city of Bergen. Varg and Fridtjof became fast friends and were nigh inseparable.
Varg was the first discover his sister's innate powers and has since refused to share them with anyone. He swore to aid her in concealing her secret and attempted to console her when she felt like an outcast. This act was kept until an organization contacted the family about Astrid and took her to their "school for the gifted" at the age of 11.
ADOLESCENCE: Varg kept studying literature, prose, and music well into high school, not only studying Nordic literature and prose but English and American as well. His friendship with Fridtjof continued to grow as they grew together, this culminated in the two swearing a blood oath to each other that they would be considered as brothers. Though his friendship with Fridtjof grew his friendships with others faltered, they were quick to abandon him when they viewed his fury. This only served to make him value his new-found brother more.
Varg managed to do well in school and usually kept himself out of trouble. His streak of innocence ended when a confrontation with a fellow student ignited the fuse of his temper. Angered, Varg lashed out at the student, beating him in an animalistic frenzy. When he finally regained his composure he found the student unconscious at his feet. This outburst nearly lead to his expulsion and started his journey to temper his rage.
ADULTHOOD: After graduation Varg and Fridtjof went off to university together and even managed to become roommates. Varg continued to focus his study on literature and music, while Fridtjof focused on art. Varg also sought many ways to temper his fury and though he has managed to a bit it is still an unbridled force when unleashed.
Varg graduated with a major in literature and a minor in music, Fridtjof majored in art. The two shared an apartment in Oslo for a few years; Fridtjof selling his art and Varg chasing a teaching position at the school that took his sister. The school rejected his appeal and instead redirected him to a sister organization in America. Realizing that this was a chance to help those like his sister he eagerly accepted the position. He wished his blood-brother a farewell, promising he would visit him as often as possible and would write and call weekly. Varg packed his bags and made ready for his departure. Mere days before his flight Varg happened upon an orphaned raven chick and took it upon himself to care for it. "The raven is a bird of death", he had thought to himself, "But it is also a bird of wisdom". He seemed pleased with his new companion and decided that no matter which the raven symbolized that this would be an interesting chapter in his life.
SAMPLE: In the kingdom of Avalon is the sprawling city of Oakheart, and in the slums of Oakheart lies the Oak Barrel Pub. The Oak Barrel Pub was known as one of the more popular taverns on the south side of Oakheart, despite its location, and often housed travelers. On one particular morning in the early spring the Oak Barrel Pub happened to be housing three travelers that would go on to become legends, this is their story.
On the third day of Ostra, in the 867th year of the Lion Age, the sun was high over the Oak Barrel Pub. A Soifra devotee of Era sat in the Oak Barrel eating a breakfast of poached eggs, blackened bacon, and a sliced orange. As she tore away at the bacon and washed it down with a swig of Bitter Black beer she cast her gaze over the tavern; the Oak Barrel Pub was not only a host to travelers but to the small-folk of Oakheart who hadn’t a home to call their own and happened to earn enough copper for a warm bed. She had hoped that the poverty levels in Oakheart would be lower than the other cities she had visited, alas this was not the case. The girl’s heart ached for the unfortunate and prayed she could help. The cleric caught herself staring and averted her gaze to her plate; she brushed her braided, auburn hair off of her olive-toned forehead, and continued her breakfast.
Across from the Soifra’s table was the bar of the tavern, and at that bar sat a Halfling. As he tore the meat off of the mutton leg he was eating he found himself wondering if a lower sitting table would’ve been a better choice.
