[Roxana Strix]

Roxana was indeed confused on why she was still sticking around or why Tim wanted to stick around her in the first place. She had no plans of remaining long when and if he left, she just tended to remain in a location if she was in no rush to go anywhere else. She currently was still free for a little longer so she supposed it didn't hurt to just sit around and look at these videos. As for understanding the purpose behind them, she didn't. Rox got what Tim was trying to do but why he was trying to do she did not get. Perhaps it was just another thing that was a result of the way she was raised and trained.

"It's fine...I'm just confused as to why this is something that we are doing." Roxana said, just being honest with the boy. It was good that he was doing something that he liked, even if it was something that could end up getting him killed if he did not do it right or pressed the matter in such a way that it would bother powerful people. The video she just watched was fine and it seemed like he even had a plan for what he wanted to do next for his interviews. He explained that they were done with talking about Lux so that he figured they could basically talk about the thing that he liked to do.

Rox was fine with that, even if she still didn't get why he wanted to do such a thing with her of all people. They were not friends, they just basically became acquaintances a few moments ago but other than that what did they have in common? Lux, their current location, and the fact that they were both mutants? That was all she could think of at the moment. "Where you wanting help with something or you just wanted to show me what interest you?" Roxana asked, trying to figure out the reasoning behind everything, because she was just not following.

Tim chuckled. "It's my way of giving you something to talk about," he said, gesturing toward the phone again. "So it's sort of my trying to give you something to talk about and sort of my showing you what interests me. Surely they covered casual conversation at that spy school of yours?"

The last was a bit of a tease, and Tim followed it up with another drink. He swallowed slowly, enjoying the flavors and the heat on the way down. "Since most of what I do is make those," he nodded at the camera, "figured I'd at least show you. Plus, you're a mutant, and most of that is about mutant rights and all."

Tim shrugged, looking around. "Seems odd, doesn't it?" he raised a hand to sort of gesture at the gathered crowd. "Most of these people don't even know about it. We're dealing with one of the weirdest civil rights movements ever. How do you handle the rights or someone when they could literally flick their wrist and kill someone? Hell, I can mimic bats, and I'm tame," Tim leaned back, smiling at Roxana and taking a sip. Deep conversation? Maybe. But he somehow figured that she'd be more comfortable with that then trying to push through more "what do you do for fun" talk.

Roxana didn't say anything at first after Tim explained why he was doing what he was doing. She understood but it still didn't make sense. She already knew what he was interested in from having looked into him a little because he was with Lux. Plus it was very obvious the kind of thing he liked to do with how often he did his little mutant help and posting blog videos. She didn't even react in the slightly to his little joke about spy school and instead looked down at his phone while she thought of what to say.

Tim added more, talking about mutant rights and how she was a mutants, so wad he getting at that she should care about that sort of thing. Roxana didn't really know how she felt about the matter; it didn't feel relevant to her even with her being a mutant. "Why do you feel that mutants need rights when the populace is not fully aware of our existence? That and we currently have the rights of any other American born citizen." Roxana asked. She was not being mean, just being blunt and wanting to know why he cared about such a thing. What was he fighting for really?

His next point just added to why she needed an answer to the question she asked. Most people didn't know about it, how was it a movement? What did he expect to achieve? What was his goal? Most of his help was for mutant on mutant issues. There was the whole SPECTRE thing, but he had not really done anything about that. Not in Roxana's opinion anyways, but many didn't really do anything about SPECTRE. It was a 'deep' talk, but Roxana didn't mind. She could kill people with her power, she did. Often sometimes, yet she was not going to say anything about that and just looked at Tim for a moment, trying to understand his way of thinking.

Tim smiled. "Yeah, but that's the rub," he held a finger up, shaking it a little, "they don't know that we exist, but what's it going to be like when we do? There's already all this crap about homosexuals and muslims and they don't have the ability to shoot crystals from their wrists," he flicked his hand before lowering it. he grabbed his drink, taking a sip. "Right now, we've got normal rights. Or so they say. But they kidnapped a few of us for vague reasons and we had to bust into them. Sure, not a whole lot of shit happened as a result, but it happened,' Tim spread his hand, tapping the table, "and it happened here."

Tim nodded and took another sip. "I dunno. Just seems like we should be working on getting things set up now, before there's the huge revelation. That's why I'm doing all that," he nodded at his phone. "Well, that and I obviously want attention."

Tim laughed a little at that, taking another sip of his drink. It had mostly started because of that, though he'd claimed otherwise. Now though, now he really wanted to make the world a better place. He had someone to live up to, and he had to at least meet her expectations.

Roxana blinked when he said 'that's the rub', some kind of new word or saying it seemed to be but she didn't recognize it. Thankfully he sort of hinted to what that meant but that was such an odd word to use for such a thing. She really didn't understand the American language sometimes; it was so complicated and had so many unnecessary words. Then on top of that Americans seemed to like changing the meaning of an already existing word to having a vastly different meaning.

"They will likely treat those they know are mutants as they treat all things that make a large sum of people feeling uncomfortable or not safe in some manner." Roxana said in a simple tone. She didn't see the need to play a guessing game or act like there was going to be any reaction other than the reaction people had for years. The human race had not changed much over the years, their brains and reactions were pretty much the same. The masses would act badly to it at first, bad things would happen, then regret, and then with time things would get better so long as people remember what had happened, forgave it, and stopped using it to say they were oppressed or something.

"That was a single group that did that and they made it clear that they thought the school was a threat and training basically human weapons." Roxana said. There was a lot of speculation behind that group, but Roxana knew a good bit of the facts, her organization knew more but was not even telling her about it. Rox was certain of one thing for sure, but she was not going to tell Tim that. He would just have to wait for it to happen, because it was going to happen. It was only a matter of time. He gave his reason behind why he was doing it, but Roxana was still not sure she really got it.

While being prepared for something was smart, would making blogs and the like really do anything when things came out? "I see." Roxana said when Tim pointed out that he liked attention, he had to at least a little bit if he was able to do what he did without any real problem. "Well it's good that you have something that you enjoy and a goal behind it, but still be careful." Roxana said, again reminding him to be careful. She didn't really know what else to say beside that, but figured that he had to want something more than just showing her things about himself. "Was there any other reason behind wanting to show me this? Or was that it?" Roxana asked, just being blunt and asking about it.

Tim nodded as Roxana made her point. That was pretty much what he was getting at, to some degree. Though he suspected it wouldn't be quite as tame as Roxana seemed to be making it out to be. She acted like they would just react to mutants like they were just another run-of-the-mill strange peoples. There was just too much difference there. But Tim didn't think he could really convince Roxana of that, and that really hadn't been why they'd gathered here in the first place.

The girl turned around the bit about SPECTRE too, though Tim, again, wasn't sure. He just shrugged, already having resolved to do what he could. Awareness could be their best weapon, especially if people knew who they were. Propaganda won modern wars almost as often as actual soldiers and weapons did, after all.

"You really aren't great at the whole conversation thing, are you?" Tim said, shaking his head. "The vid is for what I said: to give us something to talk about. I figured if we were gonna stick around we'd need something," Tim took another sip of his drink before wincing. He was definitely close to his limit. "But hey, if you don't wanna talk about it, that's cool. We could switch to TV or something much tamer...?" he looked up at her, brows raised. Somehow, Roxana didn't strike Tim as someone who watched a whole lot of television.

Roxana didn't think it would be tamed, she just thought it would be the same as it was with any big issue the masses had with something. It all depended on where you were and the viewed of the people that would affect how it would happen. Some could end up not caring at all, other would want them dead, and even some would want them just to be shoved off somewhere away from there. The way the human mind worked did not really change that much over the years; it just changed in the way how many people would think a certain way and voice it.

She was not really concerned about it, it was not her job to be worried about it so she didn't really think about it. She already knew in the end that she would be safe from whatever would happen and that SIGUARD would handle it all. When Tim pointed out that she was not good at conversation, Roxana gave a small nod of her head. Talking really was not her strong point. She could say a lot about something but normally after she said as much she had nothing more to say. It was in part of how she was raised. Get your view out there and then be silent about it as the consequences would happen.

Or be silent about it and go about your life as you were expected to. Thus this conversation, she didn't really know what Tim was wanting from her. "I apologize, but as you said I am not good at this sort of thing. I'm not really sure what it is you want us to discuss on the matter. It's clear that you enjoy it, that you are going to keep doing it, and that you think that it will help in the long run. I don't know what it is that you expect or want me to say on the matter." Roxana admitted. She really was at a loss, and while she did not mind the whole trying to have a conversation, this was not exactly easy.

Perhaps it was time for her to put on the act, adjust to a personality that would complement Tim's own personality. He then suggested that they could talk about something else, like TV or something. Roxana just blinked at him before glancing away to think. "What about if we talk about how we came into our powers?" Roxana asked, actually curious about the story of Tim coming into his mutation. There, a topic still on mutants and more specifically one that would get him talking more and something that she could actually talk about. A little.

Tim shrugged off the apology. No real reason for Roxana to be apologizing for being herself. She really seemed too uptight, though Tim supposed his constantly thinking that she was uptight and/or a nazi wasn't helping matters. Then again, if she didn't come off like that, then he wouldn't be thinking about it, and they wouldn't be in this scenario.

so, yeah, Tim was totally going to blame Rox for that.

The question had him shrugging once more. "Sure, I don't see why not," he offered, tilting his head to remember. "Let's see... not really that exciting. Was just hanging around in my room, playing around on the computer. Then I started letting out these weird noises. Bounced right off the screen, and I could, like, see the shapes," he gesture as if being hit by something and then shrugged again. "About a week and a half later, the recruiters showed up to tell me that I'm the X-Men that gets killed off in issue thirty for everyone else to have a moment."

Tim took another drink, and grinned sardonically at Rox. "So what's your story? Gotta be better than that."

Roxana didn't feel uptight or anything but then again her idea of relaxing was just sitting somewhere and drawing a picture or doing some form of art. Perhaps if she started to draw in her sketch book while Tim talk to her then he would be able to see her in a more relaxed state. Or at least see that she really was not wound up to tight or anything like that. She just was never going to fully let her guard down around anyone, that was just a fact of nature. Roxana was trying to be social with the boy but it was proving difficult.

Why could he not simply do all the talking and have her sit there, nod, and say one or two words to show that she was still paying attention to him? That would be so much easier for Roxana to do, but Tim clearly wanted to the two of them to be engaged and talking. Perhaps Lux had not told him much about Roxana's mannerisms. He seemed fine with talking about how he came into his power and went ahead, only for his story to not really be a long one. He didn't even go on and on about it like she hoped he would with how he cared about mutants. His last bit had her confused for a moment, showing it clearly on her face before she assumed yet again that it was one of his jokes.

"Well...at least you get the girl?" Roxana said, trying to go along with his joke and make it a little less on the fact that he was going to die. She was trying, but she was not sure if it would work out so well but she tried. The question was turned on her, which caused her to glance away for a moment while she collected her thoughts and quickly figured out what was okay to share. "I was in my room drawing and started to feel unwell. All I can remember after that was waking up in my bedroom with crystal covering every inch of my room and even crystal formation sticking out of the walls and floor. My parents took me to my school then soon after." Roxana informed him.

"Yeah, i did at that," he replied wryly, smiling at the thought. Tim had somehow managed to get the girl, though he constantly wondered why. It struck him as a slightly odd response from Roxana as well, like she was reading from some sort of script or something. Almost immediately following that thought was the thought that he, again, needed to stop being so judgmental with regards to her or something: different strokes and all that fun stuff.

And then her story. Tim almost wished he had his recording equipment as Roxana explained. Drawing, feeling unwell, and that was there.

"Man, you'd think that all of us have these big traumatic experiences," Tim said, raising his hands wide. "Like we blew holes in our neighbor or lit fire to the backyard or something. I swear though, I keep running into more hilarious stories than anything else. That's part of why I keep wanting to share them and all."

Tim nodded again, even more convinced that the kernal of an idea he had in mind was one that would be worth pursuing. He could just see himself now: known as the mutant spokesperson for people, putting all that was mutant out there and being known for it.

Definitely a plan.

"Still kind of weird finding that there were mutants all along though, right? I was stoked," Tim said. "Even though I've got, like, one of the most specific powers in existence. I'd kill for something like you have."

He took a drink then, before sitting the mug down. "Well, maybe not kill. Severely maim," he held a hand up, waving it, "or maybe murder the right people. I could think of a few who'd deserve it."

Roxana did feel odd about saying it, but it was playing along with him and just going along with the situation. He didn't need to know her actual opinion on him; many people did not. She had only been half openly blunt with one person and that was Felix. Not that it changed anything in him, which was disappointing but just proved that Rox was right about him. She figured she would also waste her breath trying to tell Tim anything about what she actually thought about him. He was with Luxanna and so long as she wanted to be with him and so long as that remained true she was going to leave the matter alone.

"Why would you think that?" Roxana asked as she looked at him with a slightly confused expression. Most people in the world didn't go through huge traumatic events; there were just too many people in the world, too many places for them to live, and so on for everyone to be all messed up. Adding powers into the mix did increase the chances, but it was not like there were a lot of people who had powers that were all that big of a deal. Mind readers and people with powers like Tim didn't really have to worry about their powers coming out as that big of a deal.

His next comment also had that confused looked returning to his face for a moment. Perhaps it was just because of how she was raised that she could not fully relate to certain things that he was saying to her. "I've known about them since I was little. Nothing new about it for me and I was...indifferent about it all. Only cared about that being one myself." Roxana pointed out. She didn’t care much about other mutants, so long as they kept it hush-hush.

As for his next comment, a small hint of something darker could have been spotted in Roxana's blue eyes. "With my power, you could kill." Roxana said simply, and left it right at that. She figured that would be enough for him at the moment. She had nothing more to say and unless Tim just wanted to chat more about himself, she was planning on heading out soon.

"Have you actually talked to people?" Tim asked, raising his brows. "Manifestation doesn't happen in some sort of slow progression. You just end up suddenly having powers, and it screws up your entire life. About half of mutants get their powers in some sort of survival reflex thing," Tim admittedly didn't know the exact number, having pulled that out of his ass. It did make him wonder what the actual number would be though, what people would actually say if you bothered to ask them. "Even if your power is tame," he gestured at himself, "you have to deal with everyone around you figuring it out. Better hope you're not in a super-religious family. It's like finding out you're gay or LGBT or whatever, except you could actually throw fireballs."

Which meant literally hurting people. Tim didn't want to think about that. Roxana seemed to know something about it, judging by the way she talked. That ending bit, how she almost casually mentioned the whole killing people thing. Tim looked at her for a while, and the question was apparent on his face: had she killed people? he'd heard and...

"You were at the SPECTRE attack," he said, not a question. He looked straight at her as he said it. "You... you wouldn't, maybe, want to talk about that, would you?"

Hey, worth a shot... and he could already see the interview going.

Roxana didn't answer his first question, figuring it was a rhetorical question since of course she talked to people. Perhaps not about their power or manifestation story because honestly she didn't care about hearing everyone story. She didn't care to know everyone and only really knew the information that she did because it was expected of her. There was no point in getting to know someone unless it was under orders or the other person was talking to her and seemed to want to get to know her. Like Tim seemed to be doing, which Roxana was still guarded about but she didn't think the kid could do too much damage.

"I see your point, but sadly I can't relate to the matter. As I said before, I was aware of mutants so I did not have to worry about such things." Roxana said in a simple tone. No, what she had to worry about was if she did not end up being a mutant. That would have been a problem and then perhaps she would have been able to experience what he was talking about. She had, in a different way but in a way she doubt that he would understand if she informed him of it. So she didn't feel like she was too much of an...oddball; for lack of a better word, on the subject.

He was giving her a look then, one that Rox almost asked him what was wrong, but he spoke first. It was not really a question; well the first past was not. She didn't say anything or react to the words about being there when SPECTRE attack because she figured he knew the answer to that already. "It depends on what you would want me to talk about." Roxana said simply as she ran a hand through her hair. She supposed she should elaborate from the start to avoid any questions on what she was willing to talk about. "If it was about how I killed people, it's best that I don't talk about it." Roxana said as she played with her hair a little bit.

"If it was about how a lot of lives were saved because of the school quick reaction to the matter...I could perhaps talk about it. However; there are others who would be better suited to talk about the details of such things." Roxana added after a moment. She honestly did feel that there were better people to talk to about this sort of thing. People who were involved in it or in charge of making things happen; Elsa Bellefonte came to mind.

Empathy was not high on this girl's strengths. Tim was tempted to make a comment to that effect, except that he was pretty sure stabbing people did rank pretty high and he'd already been a bit of a douchenozzle. He needed to tread carefully. That only became all the more relevant as they continued and Roxana talked about killing people.

"I'm not--" Tim began, only to pause as Roxana talked about saving lives. That was somewhat tempting, real edge of your seat stuff. Tim licked his lips for a bit, considering. He was getting an idea of doing another vid, some sort of one year later for the SPECTRE attacks thing. There were certainly enough of them around who had experienced it. Surely enough people would recall it and have stories.

"more.." he said, waving his hand for a moment as if to knock good ideas from the air, "more about how it was like. Going through that. Knowing what you do and... just sort of what your experience was like. What going through all that," he gestured in a circle before moving the hand toward her, "was like for you. The Roxana view of the whole thing," and he was already tempted to ask if he could film her response.

No, empathy was not something that Roxana was good with, because that feeling was one that could really count as a weakness. It was worse than being afraid or sad, because at least with those feelings one could still act out in a way to retaliate. With empathy, you became weak because you cared for others. It would be the reason why you would not be able to take a life, or hesitate just enough for them to get away. It was the worse. Yes, she did feel it on some levels to certain people but even then she was not the best at it.

Instead of empathy it was more so along the lines of piety or worry and that caused her to want to look after or protect those she felt that kind of feeling towards. Simple as that. He said something, but she was not done talking so it was a good thing that he waited and allowed her to finished. With that out of the way, she watched and waited for him to completely finish what he was saying. He didn't say it all at once, instead pausing and letting it out bit by bit as if he was not sure how to say it or worried how she would take it.

She didn't say anything as he spoke of what he was looking for; she just simply stared and waited. Her mind was already thinking ahead to what she would say and if she even wanted to talk about such a thing. Did he want the truth? He would likely be disappointed by it. The fact that she didn't care about anyone and was only doing it for some strange reason; because Elsa had asked her to. She got in trouble for worrying about the 'unimportant' people while one of her targets got shot and almost died. "The Roxana view would not be pleasing to hear. I suggest you ask someone else that helped out during that event." Roxana said simply.

"I could even provide a list of names of those who volunteered or were signed up to help." She offered. It was well past the time of the event, and such information was not all the sensitive. It was not like she was going to tell him about the plan or anything like that, just those who were on the teams since that information was available.
