"Yeah, that makes sense. Animals have their own will and they aren't gonna be too thrilled about obeying you and all," agreed Charity, though she spoke a little quicker than she would have normally. Easy enough to just lean back on her power a bit and let it take the reins for her: forging ahead and going with what came naturally via her power instead of shrieking and scrambling a bit further up the chair or something like that. Seiji certainly seemed cool with the situation, as if this sort of thing just happened to him every day and he totally knew how to react to things.
At least he was putting up the snake, which made Charity sigh with relief. She remained on the chair, mostly because moving closer still felt like one of the worst possible decisions she could make right now. "Uh, you don't have to," she said, nodding. "Hide him, or whatever. Well, hide him, but you don't have to banish him and stuff," Charity bobbed her head a few more times, then licked her lips.
"I'm still gonna be on the chair for a while though. If that's okay," she shifted and smoothed down her skirt. "I want to respect the snake's space after all," yes, that was totally it. Totally.

“Right, even if I can make them completely obey me, it is iffy sometimes. I have better luck controlling the four snakes that I own over a random snake slithering in the grass.” Seiji went on to explain a little. His ability had a lot of levels to what he was actually able to pull off with the creatures he worked with, but he didn’t go into any more details. She probably was figuring it all out thanks to her power and she didn’t like snakes so he didn’t want to talk about it a lot and make her uncomfortable. While he was still sad that she didn’t like them, it was still slightly amusing to see her up on the chair.
Baby slitters, Leevi. Seiji sent the thought to his snake who was complaining about how Charity didn’t like him and how he didn’t even get to get any measurements. Seiji didn’t want his snake getting any measurements but he felt that if they took things slow that Charity might be okay with him. He did make a mental note to keep her away from Ghost. He was a large boa constrictor who acted like a dog and would have gone after Charity seeing to be petted and scratched. So yeah, it would be best to keep his largest snake away from her. “Okay, I will keep him hidden then.” Seiji said as he moved over to grab a seat, staying where he was and giving her space.
He smiled a little bit as she informed him how she was going to be staying up on the chair, that struck him as…something. He didn’t know the right word for it but it was certainly something that made him smiles a little bit. Even if she was not coming any closer and still was afraid of Leevi. “Well, he wants to be as close to you as he can, but I’ll keep him right on me.” Seiji informed her, since Leevi didn’t need space. “Oh, uh…so about you helping me. Would you be up for it? We can start with you just provided me your notes from your training seasons so I can updates the logs on people’s powers to study.” Seiji asked and then suggested where they could start.

Charity nodded as Seiji continued the explanation of his power. She'd already more or less figured that out using her ability, though it was reassuring to hear verbal confirmation. The continued talk about powers and abilities also helped take her mind off the slimy creature squirming about Seiji right now.
"Yes, hidden is good," Charity said, smoothing her clothes again. "We, ah, wouldn't want to disturb him," or her but, well, she figured that was more or less implied. Obviously. She kept smoothing her clothes and fidgeted on the chair, looking up as Seiji continued. Right, she'd been agreeing to help him with his studies and such. Charity already began nodding even before Seiji could finish his question.
"of course!" she said, smiling. "I love to help people after all, and that is pretty well what my power is good for," she nodded. "I don't have many notes yet, but you could always contact me and I could see if I could make room to come and see something or someone for you. I can actually study records and stuff too,' Charity bobbed her head, again moving to smooth her skirt. "So if you have, like, recordings, I can watch and listen and figure stuff out that way. Not as good, obviously," she smiled, bobbing her head some more, "but, it works, really."

Seiji held back a small chuckle that wanted to escape for her still being concerned about his snake, even if what she was saying was not really something his snake was concerned about. He figured it was just her way to try and play off just how fearful she was of the reptile. That and perhaps she was trying to not to hurt his feelings to much with her level of fear over something that was basically his power and his only friends at the end of the day more often than not. Sure he had friends, just not very many so his snakes were really important to him.
He didn't even get to finish his question completely before Charity spoke up, stating that she would love to help. He nodded at her words, understanding that she was still new to the spot so he could not have expected her to have a lot of information yet. He could wait; his job had a lot to do with waiting and studying so that was nothing new for him. He then stood up, as one particular part about what she said caught his attention. "Wait, you mean that you can just read information or watch a video of someone using their power and be able to understand it? You don't have to be there in person?" Seiji asked, wanting to make sure he heard right.
She said that it worked, really but he just wanted to be sure. If that in fact the case then she was going to be really useful. He always had someone show him their powers when they came to him for help. Now he could just ask if they were okay being recorded, hand it off to her, and then things would go a lot faster with obtaining information. Yes, this collaboration would be greatly beneficial to the mutants a BA. He was already daydreaming about how it would help and thus for once was just standing there in silence.

"Uh, notes aren't really good at all," Charity said, chewing her lip. "I can sort of figure stuff out from them, but that's, like, I'm just a little better than the average person and stuff. It gets progressively better from there. Like, hearing it is better than notes, but video's better yet. And of course actually being in the room with someone's better yet. Watching is, like, the best."
Charity bobbed her head, figuring that did make some sense. She shuffled, looking around for a moment. She didn't see the snake, but that didn't mean it was around. It seemed like a better idea for Charity to just more or less stay where she was for the moment, especially seeing as Seiji didn't seem to be all that focused, which meant the snake was probably free to start wiggling at any moment.
"So, uh," she said, smoothing her clothes again, "did you have anything in particular in mind? Is there, like, a case that's bothering you or something? Like I said: I'm definitely willing to help. I might even be able to help by looking over notes too, if you really need another set of eyes. I'm not a scientist or anything, but I do know stuff."
Charity added another little shrug, figuring that she might as well offer. If she could help, she should: that hadn't changed.

Seiji listened closely as she explained that notes were not all that good and went on to explain further. Right, all of that made sense. If she had been able to figure it out with just notes or being told about it that would have been impressive but the would feel almost realistic. Videos and seeing it in person were best for her so Seiji figured from now on he would ask for video recording of peoples powers. Perhaps that could be a part of the normal test that was performed on a student when they first came to the school.
It should have been easy enough to do and if it means it would help figure out mutants, he was sure the school would be up to doing it. He just had to be brave enough to write up the letter and turn it in. The letter part was not all that hard; it was the whole turning it in. He didn't want to make it seem like he knew what was best for figuring out what the school should do in order to figure out side-effects better. Hell, part of him felt like he should have expanded his job to the general Mutant Specialist or something along those lines. "Alright then, I will see what I can do on my end to obtain you some videos of people using their powers." Seiji said, giving a few nods after his words.
Yes, he could do that or at the very least he had to try. Charity was still staying where she was and then there was a question. "Hmm?" Seiji asked, having gone off in his own thought on the matter for a moment. He had heard her, but it had taken a moment for his mind to register the words and what he wanted to say back. "Well...it’s overall since I'm doing research on a few things all at once. I know for sure I would like your help on the Bellefonte family, there is also Luxanna Viera and a friend of mine asked if I could look into a Zoe Wallerstein-Smythe." Seiji pointed out. There were more than just those he need to look into but those were the ones that came to his mind right away.

Charity smiled as Seiji said he'd get her some videos. "Right, I'll make time to watch them," along with everything else she had to do. Well, she didn't see any harm in keeping busy. Who didn't enjoy keeping busy as opposed to being bored.
And there seemed to be some specifics to consider too. One of those names actually sounded familiar to Charity... and her brow furrowed. "Hold on for a moment," she said, extending a hand and hopping off her chair to head back to where she'd had the files. She thumbed through them. "Luxanna Viera, Reactive Adaptation..." she tapped it, "yes, she was one of my father's for a while, though she's one of those that really is just sort of here to be here, since too much exposure to her power can be... bad," Charity chewed her lip for a moment, looking over the file. Powers like this tended to have... bad repercussions, to say the least.
"I haven't heard of a Wallerstein-Smythe, boy, that names a mouthful, huh?" she chuckled a little, then seemed to realize that she'd gotten closer to the snake and took a step away. "I can look into them though. Did you have any files or anything, or should I just use the training ones and stuff?" she held up the file she had in hand, since, well, it was essentially what they had on Viera already.

"No rush at all. No need to overwork yourself. I have plenty of other things to work on to keep me busy while I wait for you to have the time." Seiji said, still with that friendly smile on his face. He really didn't want her to overwork herself. He honestly preferred if he could somehow persuade her out of her current job to just work with him. He didn't want her balancing two jobs at all but it seemed like that was what she was going to have to do on some level. At least a small level when it came from what aid she could give to Seiji. Still, he didn't know what kind of side-effects came with her power.
He was going to have to take a closer look at them as well to make sure he was not putting too much strain on her. Charity was then actually brave enough to get down from her chair and come back over to where Seiji was sitting. He had taken a seat at the table with all of her papers. Perhaps she was now focused on what they were talking about and less about the snake that was still hiding on Seiji's person. "Right, she is actually pretty high up there on my list because of what her power is likely to result in..." Seiji stopped and looked around. This was not really the best place to discuss so sensitive information so he stopped talking about it. He could share with her more on it later back at his office if she did in fact want to discuss it.
"Indeed, I'm curious to know why her family went with a two part last name such as that. I figured it was probably in a marriage where both parties wanted to keep their last name and...well no sense in me going on about it." Seiji said as he gave a small embarrassed laugh. He ruffled his hair a little before clearing his throat. "I have files of them, not on my person however. You can stop by my office sometime to pick them up or I can drop them off by your room when I get the chance." Seiji suggested. Either way worked for him and it was easy enough to make the time to transfer files from one person to another.

Charity bobbed her head, and about half her upper body, as Seiji insisted that she didn't need to rush. "That's good, I wasn't hoping to rush or get overwhelmed or anything. Sometimes it's all bleeeeh," she held her hands up to either side of her face, sticking out her tongue for a moment. More nervous laughter followed, along with her sliding her palms down her side.
By then, Charity was leaning over, looking for files and at least getting closer to Seiji. She bobbed her head at the mention of Wallerstein-Smythe. "Her power...?" Charity wondered. She'd heard bits and pieces, and she frowned. "Well, I know Lux's is definitely something we're going to need to focus on, and if Wallerstein-Smythe's is bad too..."
Charity's lips pursed, and she heard Seiji sort of hashing out the name thing, though she mostly ignored it for now. They could always ask later if they were curious. instead, Charity wondered, wondered and then snapped to attention with the last bit. "oh, right. Uhhhh, I have an office too," she said, "so that would probably be better than my room. If you could drop them off there, that would be super. If not, I can, like, totally come pick them up and stuff. Maybe I should? You'll probably want me to study some powers firsthand, right? Like, with Luxanna and Wallerstein-Smythe and all?"

"Right, I would not want you to end up all bleeeeh as you say. I want you to be at your best when you help me with my work and I will make it worth your time. I can pay you or take you someplace you want to go if you like. Just tell me and I'll do what I can to make it happen since I owe you for your help." Seiji said. He was not going to completely take her doing it for free when he was asking her help on a matter. He had to pay her back in some way and even if she would say that he didn't have to, he would figure out some way to do it.
It was just in his nature and he liked to make people happy and would do what he had to do in order to get that kind of reaction out of someone. He could still tell that she was nervous and he felt a little bad, for more than likely being the cause of it. He felt like he would only bother her a little longer and then would take his leave so she could get back to what she was doing and not being in such a nervous state of mind. "Well Wallerstien-Smythe is not threatening to her own life but...well I can discuss those details later with you. If you would like to, that is." Seiji said, not really feeling comfortable going into details on the matter in this specific location.
"I can drop it off at your office, no problem. As for you looking at it first hand, that is your call. I want you to do what you have time for and let me handle obtaining everything that you would need for you." Seiji said that friendly smile on his face. He then stood up then, fixing his jacket a little before he extended his hand out to her. "I should let you get back to your work, but it was nice meeting you and I am so very pleased that you have agreed to help me." Seiji said.

Charity's head bobbed yet again as Seiji explained things. This Wallerstein-Smythe girl did sound interesting, and Charity really wanted to see if she could potentially help the girl out in some way. That was why she was here, why she'd finally decided she needed to come back. Charity had been all about helping people and teaching and stuff, and her power pretty well set her up to help mutants the best. That had to be what Seiji recognized and wanted to utilize, right? Right.
"Sure thing!" Charity said, nodding again. "Just, drop it by my office. Any time. I've also got a mailbox. I, uh, have a dorm," she jerked her head, "here on campus. Not, like, I'm a student or anything. It's in the staff dorms. With other grownups," Charity nodded her head a few times, then walked backward.
"Right, so, I have the whole... working thing to do," she said. Charity smiled and raised a finger, pointing it toward Seiji. "I will see you later," and she backed before realizing that she was technically working there, which made the whole sitting down and working thing more awkward. Totally doable though, and definitely what adults did. Yeah, smooth.
