NAME: Jamie Anne Foster
NICKNAME: None
AGE: 24
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Bisexual
POSITION: Art teacher
FACE CLAIM: Olivia Wilde
POWER: Empathy
Jamie has the ability to feel, sense and understand the emotions of others. She can read their feelings, even when they try to hide it. This does however require her to be close to the person who's emotions she's interpreting, and the closer she is, the stronger she feels it. She can get affected by the emotions others have as well, but the degree depends on how strong of an emotion said person is feeling. The stronger the emotion, the more it affects her own mood. It can even affect her so strongly it overloads her senses, and she can pass out.
However, over the years, Jamie has learned to control this to some degree. She can use her ability as a way to help, or attack someone in a personal and emotional manner, since it's difficult for others to hide their emotions from her, and she usually knows exactly what emotion they are truly feeling. She prefers not to use her ability against anyone, as she feels she's intruding on their personal space. Instead, Jamie tries using her ability to guide people into becoming better artists. Really getting their feelings and soul out on paper.
SIDE-EFFECTS & LIMITATIONS:
- She cannot turn this ability off, but with enough focus and concentration, Jamie can ignore it.
- Her ability is stronger the closer she is to someone, but only reaches for about as far as the length of a football field.
- Extremely strong and out of control emotions can affect her, and at times, she can find herself being "taken over" by them. For example, if someone is enraged, this feeling might become so strong it consumes her, and she herself will feel enraged, without really knowing why.
- Side effects include, but are not limited to; headaches, migraines, exhaustion (Both mental and physical), occasionally passing out.
- She can read the emotions of anyone around her, but she has also learned to focus just on one person. She becomes tired and more exhausted around larger groups of people, as it makes it harder for her to block them out.
A tall, 5'7" young woman stands in front of the class, pointing a ruler towards the blackboard. Her blue-ish-green eyes gleams mischievously as she sighs. She puts the ruler down and goes to sit down on the desk at the front of the class. She lifts her hand and combs it through her dark hair. She has a slim build, and it's easy to see that she has taken well care of her body, despite her somewhat older age.
"As you can see on the blackboard, my name is Miss. Foster. I started studying art when I was eighteen. I've always been interested in it, so when college came around, I already knew what I wanted to do. To become an art teacher, I had to spend four years in school, and the second I was out, I was twenty-two. Unlike so many other kids fresh out of college, I started applying for jobs right away."
The woman smiles a little as she turns her head to look at the blackboard again. She makes a few hand movements before sighing. She has a confident aura about her, as if she takes her job very seriously. She probably does too, and no one seems to question her either. She seems to be capable of making everyone pay attention to her as she speaks. Not necessarily for what she says, but the way her eyes seem to capture her audience and the way her body radiates. She truly loves what she does, and it's apparent too.
"Myself, I manifested when I was eleven. I already knew about mutants though, as I come from a long line of mutants myself, and well, I wasn't too worried about it. In fact, I was looking forward to going to school, learning more about myself and my power. My family contacted the school the day after and a week later, I was shipped off to Bellefonte."
She smiles fondly at that, her eyes once again directed towards the class. She pushes herself away from the desk and skips over to the blackboard and starts removing her chalk-written name.
"Oh."
She turns and smirks at the class.
"Just because I'm new, it doesn't mean I'll let you slack off."
She lifts her hand, waves her finger about as if she's scolding the class. They laugh at her little show and she seems pleased. She's charming, that much is obvious.
"So, I just started working here at Bellefonte. I am currently twenty-four years old, single and not looking."
Another set of laughter. She furrows her brow, but keeps her mischievous expression.
"But, enough about me. I'm sure you guys have plenty of questions, but why don't we just wait and see. I'm sure you'll all see that I'm easy to get to know. Besides, where would the fun be if I just gave you all the answers?"
She giggles. The class nods, completely in awe.
"So! Open your books please."
The class does as they're told. She smiles, looking content.
"Today, we're going to read about primary, secondary and tertiary colors. What they mean, and their differences."
