Cade can manipulate cells. That's the short version of it. The long version is that he has control over his cellular structure. He can manipulate the cells in his body to strengthen the muscles in his arms, making him stronger. Or he can manipulate the cells to strengthen his lungs and make it easier for him to breathe. He can use his power to strengthen his leg muscles to make himself faster. He has full control of his cellular structure and so he do all this. He can also manipulate the cells in plants, but only to make them grow. He can't control which way they grow, only that they will grow bigger. Any kind of plant can be grown. However, he can't manipulate animal cells or those of other people. There's something about it that doesn't resonate with his powers correctly.
His family is known to have certain levels of this ability, so he was trained in the event of him inheriting the rarer power among his line. He has a better grip on his powers than some, but it is by no means perfect. And he isn't the most powerful of his heritage by any stretch either. In the past, it mostly just was dismissed as especially talented athletes, or gardeners.
Limitations
- can't work on inanimate objects
- doesn't work on other people or animals.
- only works on himself and plant cells
- can't control which way the plants grow, or how much they grow once he's stimulated the cells to reproduce
- adjusting his body to normal after he's changed it using the power too takes an extra toll of exhaustion on his person.
- There's a limit on how strong he can become, or whatever trait he decides to emphasize with the extra energy. He can only reach the peak condition of a human athlete. If he decides to emphasize his strength, he can become like a world class body-builder for a short time. But he can't become like a mutant with super strength. The same goes for his speed or stamina. It is limited to human peak physical or mental condition.
- It takes energy to maintain changes that aren't his own body. And when he uses it on his own body, it makes him tired to go back to normal form.
- His enhancements only last an hour at most, and after that it forcibly makes him go back to normal, possibly leading to an immediate energy depletion that could be dangerous
- Cade can't go into peak physical human condition as in all of his body at once. He can only enhance certain cells in his body. Like just his legs, or just his arms. Otherwise, it uses too much energy and could pose a threat on his life.
Side-Effects
- Can make him extra tired
- Can give him bad headaches with too many extended uses: like debilitating sort of headaches
- energy depletion can make him go unconscious for certain amounts of time depending on how long he uses his powers.
- can make him impulsive as a result of the rush he gets when he uses his powers.
- prolonged use can also make him bleed more easily, as in out of his nose. Makes him kind of look like an anime pervert sometimes. Which is not entirely inaccurate considering the next side-effect...
- use of his powers in order to enhance his physical state can sometimes result in an increased drive...basically it can make him a bit of a player sometimes.
APPEARANCE SECTION: Cade is five foot ten and he generally weighs 150lbs, although his weight does fluctuate. He has a fair bit of muscle, with a defined jawline and piercing steel blue eyes whose colour is in sharp contrast to his dark almost black hair colour. His walk differs according to how he's feeling. When he has extra energy, there's quite the pep in his step and he strides proudly. When he's tired...well, he doesn't generally walk at all when he's tired but when he does he mostly just...kind of shuffles. He also has a tattoo on his forearm that says 'Hic Et Nunc'. It's Latin for Here and Now, and for Cade it is a reminder for him not to be stuck in the past because with his power that can possibly be dangerous. He needs to stay in the Here and Now for safety's sake.
He can sometimes be very mischievous, but only when he's not asleep. He has a hard time staying awake at times though and can sometimes be found sleeping in completely random places. Cade even looks a bit serene when he's sleeping. Not quite vulnerable, but almost.
MUST HAVE APPAREL: Cade often wears leather jackets. They're a favourite of his. However, the real thing he rarely takes off is a heirloom ring. It's mostly a way of focusing his energy and channeling because while he's focusing on it, it makes it easier. However, it could be any ring. This particular ring is his grandfather's ring. His grandfather was the last one to have the Shaman gift. He often packs his sword on his back too.
PERSONALITY SECTION: Sleepy mostly. No, but seriously. His powers sap his energy sometimes and he can be found sleeping in random places. When he's feeling lively though, he enjoys nice cars, beautiful women and nice long walks on the beach...no wait what's that about the beach? No way. He likes a calming relaxing atmosphere as much as the next guy though. Beautiful women is something that there's a definite emphasis on. Women are meant to be loved in his opinion. All people are, but women in that special way. And he loves that. So sleepy and sleeping with people basically. There is more to him than that though.
He enjoys action. No, not THAT kind of action. Not all the time. He loves swinging his sword and practicing. He loves fighting. He loves using his abilities. Hell, Cade even likes his job. School...well...he stays awake long enough to ask the teacher for notes. Sometimes he manages through a whole class, depending on if there's a beautiful girl there. It really depends if the class catches his interest. Despite how shallow he can be, there's times when he can be wise or deep. He hates people who aren't any fun. He dislikes people who aren't very genuine either. He loves honesty, even if he isn't always honest himself.
EXTRA QUIRK: He loves shining his sword. He packs it on his back all the time, whether he thinks he'd be in danger or not. He also tends to twirl his ring around his finger nervously.

CHILDHOOD: Cade's childhood was like any little kid's. Except for the mansion he lived in with his parents. It was only a small mansion though! Oh, and the fact that his parents taught him about power control before he actually had powers to control. And before they had any clue it would manifest. They didn't know if Cade's generation of his family would even have a powered being. They hoped though. His whole family learned about power control. Cade was also pretty bored by all of the power control. On top of that, he went to school and had to do that. He fell asleep in class even then. The teachers weren't very understanding, but he still managed to get decent grades regardless.
He learned all about the legacy of his family. How there had been heroes and villains both in his lineage. That the powers ran in his family. That, if one of the family received the enhancement, they'd inherit grandfather's ring as a symbol of the torch being passed on. It was a pretty new symbol though. Even if grandfather's ring had been passed down from generation to generation before the powers were known about
ADOLESCENCE: Cade's manifestation came when he was fourteen. His family, as part of his school, had implemented a mandatory meditation time. Suddenly, he clicked and found the grass around him two feet tall when he opened his eyes. Apparently he could help plants grow. That was an interesting day, considering the plants had grown in a protective circle around him.
Bellefonte came and recruited him at just the right time. Once his powers manifested, there was nothing more his parents could teach him. They didn't know anything about how the powers worked as only those with it knew. He relished the chance to learn more about power training. It's one of the reasons he takes it so seriously. He enjoys learning more about his powers, as well as sparring whenever possible. He was picked up by Bellefonte a week after his powers manifested.
ADULTHOOD: So far adulthood's going okay. Cade's only twenty, but he's adjusted to life at Bellefonte Academy well. He and his owl have fun. He goes to his college classes and gets decent marks. And he enjoys finding other people with powers and bringing them to the Academy. Being someone from a family that knew about powers, he's a firm believer in what Bellefonte does. Training is of the utmost importance to him and he doesn't take it lightly.
Despite the fact he has a tendency to sleep anywhere, anytime. He does actually love his job despite that. He can be really funny that way. He is funny, and he is friendly for the most part. But when it comes to training your powers, Cade can be very serious. Especially if you're not taking it seriously. He knows they can be dangerous.
SAMPLE: The girl had been crying. Olivia knew that, but yet she was sort of fascinated by the tears at the same time. She didn't really cry much. Big girls don't cry was something her family had taught her. In fact, there had been times where she'd even been a bit jealous of people with tears. Suddenly she saw them floating off the girl's cheek.
"Ah crap. I'm automatically floating your tears." She looked at the small droplets hovering in the air and couldn't help but reach out to touch them. One by one they dropped and she shrugged. She heard the girl ask for water, or to stay until the fireworks were over. Olivia's mouth quirked up in a slight smile.
"At this point, I have no idea what would happen if I got someone a simple glass of water. However, staying to watch the fireworks sounds good to me. They're pretty." She was fascinated by a lot, she admitted to herself. And the fireworks weren't the only things around she found pretty either.
"So, you're scared of loud noises? You know, fear is the body's natural response to possible dangers. You really have no need to be ashamed of it." That was kind of the pot calling the kettle black considering her fears, but whatever.
