For once, he was actually glad that a girl said she cared only about him. Sure, Quinn preferred she didn't care about him at all but she made it pretty clear that this was not happening. If she didn’t care, he supposed it meant her parents didn’t lose money in that scam, or that she had no idea. It was so long ago. They never recovered all of their money but they were kids. They probably didn’t know and if they did, it was unfair to blame him for it. Come to think of it, Quinn seemed to be the only one still remembering about this and that was mostly thanks to his mother who couldn’t get passed that. At school, after everything that happened to his family, he was teased more for being orphan or for looking rickety compared to his cousins. He really needed to relax about it. No one cared. In here, he was not the only kid left out on his own. He blended in. If someone cast him out, it was himself.

Quinn couldn’t help having a lot of anger inside for the things that happened to him and the people involved. It was why he hated whenever someone tried to learn too much about his past and why he acted like this towards Erin. He naturally pushed people away but, in her case, it was special. She added snooping around to her list of crimes. This made him want to push her away even more yet at the same time worry it will only make her want to learn more about him. She proved to be tenacious, he couldn’t simply tell her to forget about it and figure she would.

She even refused to take this as enough to pay her debt. Quinn was devastated at this. “Do I have to fake drowning for you to be happy?” He was even tempted to say that if he knew she would have reacted this way, he wouldn’t have saved her but this was maybe a little too cruel, even for Quinn. He didn’t think back there, he just acted. He walked towards the boys’ dorm. As he reached his door, he hesitated at first. “Just... wait here one minute,” he said. He knew Jack and didn’t want to take the risk the guy saw him bring Erin in. Even if the reason for her to be here was innocent, he doubted Jack would take it that way. And if he heard the porn video playing earlier, bringing a girl then would only cause Quinn to be teased for the rest of his life. But he didn’t see Jack so he reopened the door and gestured for Erin to come in.

Erin didn't care about the same that involved Quinn's parents, it had no effect on her and it told her nothing about Quinn. Well it told her a little bit about his parents which did at least open Erin's eyes to why Quinn was probably the way he was no. Yet, she still didn't fully understand because that was what his parents did not him. Plus there was the huge fact that he was not at Bellefonte Academy and had no need to worry about such things here. Unless he did...again Erin was not really sure on how everything was done over here. She was from Japan after all so there were probably a few things that were done differently at BA then they were done back at her old school. Thinking about it for a moment, she sort of missed her old school, but she was here now so she just had to make the best of it.

It was in Quinn's best interest to accept that Erin was going to find out about him and want to pay him back. It was just the kind of girl she was and being told no or that she could not do something only made her want to do it more. Prove everyone wrong and show them that no and can't meant nothing to her. Erin chuckled at Quinn's question, taking it that he was joking. "I suppose then if I saved you from drowning then it would count, but it have to be believable that I actually saved your life." Erin pointed out and by that she meant that it would not count if Quinn faked it. "Until I can actually save your life, I have to at least do favors for you here and there until they total up to what would be a life worth...I suppose." Erin added after as she followed Quinn, keeping her distance still.

She raised an eyebrow when Quinn had her wait outside once they got to his room. Did he forget that she had already been in his room and certainly looked around a bit? Or was he worried about his roommates brining in a girl? Did Quinn know she was gay, like super gay? She tucked that thought away for the moment as she did in fact behave and wait for Quinn to say she could come in. Walking in once he stepped aside and went right to his room, pulling out her gear to get to work on fixing his computer. "You sure you don't want me to leave the free eye candy I had downloaded onto your computer?" Erin asked with a slight snicker after, but then focused on what she needed to do. "We should uh...go to the movies, together...sometime." Erin tossed out there, dreading that it sounded like a date but she was asking him to go with her to the movies for a reason.

Quinn never really had that, someone who wanted to know about him. Sure, she only did because of that silly life debt. She couldn’t act like any normal kid and just pretend a thank you was enough. She had to go and try to learn everything there was to learn about him. He wouldn’t even be surprised if she found a way to know what brand of underwear he was wearing right now. Quinn never trusted anyone who asked questions about him. He refused to believe someone might ever consider him interesting enough to want to know more about him. He had the feeling Erin just proved him right, since she wouldn’t do that in the first place if she didn't think she owed him something.

He did hope she was joking when she said it would work only if it was believable. He only meant it as a joke and he was kind of scared to tell her that and be told that she knew it and thought he was silly to think she took it seriously. “So you’re like my servant until your debt is paid? I say fixing my computer is good enough. I’ll happy be with it,” he said. What kind of logic was she following to do that? Quinn couldn’t really understand it. He would never let anyone hold that kind of power over him, life debt or no. For a moment, he did wonder if asking her to fetch him some custard pie anytime he wanted one might work but he didn’t want to ruin her either. She was able to get back at him for it afterwards and seeing what she was able to do when she wanted to help you, he didn’t want to think what it was like when you pissed her off.

No, Quinn had no idea she was gay. How could he, when she never pointed it out to him. He knew however that lesbian or no, his roommate Jack will get back at them should he ever find them together. He didn’t think one second that leaving the girl in front of his door while they were in the boys’ dorm floor was just as suspicious. He also had no idea she came in his room since she did it while he was gone. She proved to be a good hacker and Quinn didn't know enough about computer to realise she probably should have been here in the first place. He did wonder about it though when he realised she needed no instruction as to which room was his.

For now, he chose not to say anything but he found it odd. Anyway, her joke about the sites she downloaded got him to forget about it. “No way. And I hope none of these cost anything,” he said. The last thing he wanted was for his aunt and uncle to find out he got a nice bill up thanks to internet porn. He stared at her as she talked and worked at the same time. “First you hack into my computer then you ask me on a date?” he pointed out. It did sound like a date, especially to one who had no idea of her sexual preferences. He turned his head towards the cage as Pips played with a little ball. It was a cat toy, making noise and all but Pips loved those balls. And he obviously felt like playing with the people in the room. But Quinn was not in a playful mood right now. He wanted to watch Erin and make sure she was doing a good job.

Quinn had 'lucked out'; depending on how you looked at it, the moment he saved Erin's life. She was in his debt and with the things she could do there were a lot of uses he could get out of her. Yet, Quinn seemed to want to get rid of her more then put her talents to his own personal use. She even showed him a little bit of what she could do and told him of other things she was capable of doing. Yet Quinn was still being stubborn about it all so she was going to be stubborn right back with him until he just came to accept it all. To accept that she was going to pay back her life debt, that she had skills, and that he really should remain on her good side if he wanted a happy life.

She probably even could find out what underwear he was wearing, simply by looking at what kinds her purchased and then looking in her dresser. Only problem with that was she was not interested in what he was wearing underneath his clothing. Not unless he could turn into a girl, she honestly did not want to see any of what was underneath it all. She gave a nod but made an 'eeehhhh' sound as she did so. "Pretty much a servant, but I have things that even I won't do. So you could call me more of a connection. You know in movies where a person is like 'i have a connection'? I'm that for you." Erin explained, only confident in her speech now because she felt comfortable about talking about this sort of thing. Plus the longer she was around Quinn the more she felt like he honestly was not going to do anything 'bad' to her. "And no, fixing your computer is not enough, because I caused the damage." Erin added with a nod and then went silent for a moment.

Was she being too bold with him now? Perhaps, but she felt like she had to drag out her tough side a bit more for Quinn to understand and accept that she was not going anywhere. She waited still while he went in and then went right to his room when he let her have access. She honestly still didn't know what he was worried about but was not going to press it too much. She had a computer to fix and that was what she was going to do. Unpacking her little bag and going to work unplugging the computer so she could take it apart safely to put back in the actual hard drive. "Nope. All free. If you want any specialty kind, that will cost you." Erin pointed out as she paused for a moment, thinking of several and then went back to work. Erin started to blush when Quinn called the outing a date and started to shake her head no.

"No, no no....not a date. I don't date guys. I like g-girls. Pretty girls, hot girls, not guy girls." Erin muttered out as she rubbed at her face. There was no need for her to be getting all bashful around a guy, he was a male! The jingle ball caught her attention and caused Erin to look up at the ferret in its cage. Immediately her embarrassment vanished and she stopped what she was doing and went over to the cage. "Aww, what’s its name? Can I hold it?" Erin asked, practically sounding like a little school girl who had just come across a litter of kittens.

Quinn was starting to see the potential of having a girl such as Erin as friend. But the sheer fact she sort of imposed herself on him got the boy to want her as far away from him as possible. She must be pretty good with computer if she managed to hack into his. Sure, it wasn’t the hardest thing to do but it still showed she had more skills than he did when it came to computers. He did remember what she said to him when she first pointed out she owed him big. But the more those possibilities unfolded to him, the more he was fighting against ever asking out for her skills. It was silly for it just got her to stick around longer. He was torn inside. he wanted her gone but he didn’t want to deal with her for this to happen.

Servant didn’t sounded quite right. In fact, it sounded a bit dirty and he didn’t want anything dirty to be associated with Erin. It wasn’t that she was bad looking but it wasn’t something he wanted to think about, at all. Connection seemed to work, even if he didn’t want her too much as a connection either. But then, he thought it might not be all that bad. It was good to have connections. It wasn’t like having an acquaintance. He was thinking about all of this as she worked on his computer.

“That’s good,” he said as she assured him this was all free porn. He didn’t want to end up with a bill for this. His aunt might wonder what was going on with him if he did, might even choose to take his computer away. He wasn’t sure, he just always assumed the worst out of people. He had no idea what she was doing with his computer. Without a manual explaining everything, and preferably not one with twenty pages filled with text in small font, he was kind of lost. He understood his camera, his computer was just a tool he used and took for granted but didn’t know much about. Speaking of his camera, he took it away from his desk, just in case she accidentally hit it and it fell to the floor.

He stared at Erin when she admitted being into girls. So the only girl he got that he couldn’t get away from was a lesbian. Just his luck! Had he been someone else, he probably would have joked, like said they liked the same type of person or something like that. But this was Quinn so he simply shrugged. “Whatever.” Pips cleared whatever embarrassment growing between them. He didn't expect her to go all perky around the ferret. “Hm... Pips,” he answered as he stared at her like she was an alien or something. “Computer first than we’ll see,” he said. He knew Pips would like to be out but he didn’t want to keep Erin around for longer than necessary. “Saving my ass in a video game, would that count?”

Erin was not going anywhere until she paid Quinn back and even this is was not full proof that she was just going to leave Quinn alone. She knew more about the boy and on some levels she liked him, not like in a way that she wanted to go out with him. In a way that just made her want to stick around, hang out, and be his friend. Her father did tell her to try and make more friends while she was in her new school and Erin had been trying. She was not having much luck with it at the moment but she was trying and who better to start of being friends with then a gay you owed a Life Debt to?

There was also the fact that she would not deny that the way Quinn reacted to the things she said and did assume her. It made her feel like she really could be bold around him and not actually have a reason to worry. Erin never really thought about being an actual servant before, would she have to wear a maid outfit? Not that she thought it would look good on her and she would have preferred seeing certain girls dressed up that way. She certainly was missing Japan just thinking about it all, even if some people that were dressed up and look like girls were not really girls. It was a trap, but still all interesting. Her mind wondered as she worked on his computer before speaking to him.

“Very good, so you want it?” Erin asked with a small grin as she glanced up from her work to him. It was free and she knew where to actually get the safe kind so if he really wanted she would give it to him. If she had gotten the costly kind she would have paid for it, she had money. She paused for a moment when Quinn took his camera but then went back to work. Erin admitted that she was very much into girls to assure Quinn that she was not trying to go out with him. She was just trying to hang out with him. “I won’t try and steal any girl you like, so don’t worry.” Erin said when Quinn said whatever.

He really didn’t have to worry about any competition from her; it was hard enough for her to even say she liked a girl to said girl’s face. Then they were on the ferret and it was just so cute. She already planned on getting it a pair of horns so it could be like the ferret from Ink Heart and it would be so cute. “Hi Pips. You are so cute. Does Quinn take good care of you?” Erin asked, completely absorbed by the ferret before grumbling when Quinn said she had to focus on the computer first. She did let out something of a huff but did turn around to get back to work. She thought about his question for a moment, looking up at the ceiling as she thought. “Hmm…if it was like a super elite boss that was close to dying but close to killing you and it had a chance at a rare drop when killed…then it would count a little bit.” Erin said, not even pausing to take a breath as she explained.

Quinn knew that his family wanted him to have friends. Well, his aunt because his cousins surely thought he was too much of a creep to have any, but that was still family. Apparently, it was important to fit in somewhere, to have people who liked you no matter what, that you could count on. Quinn had a hard time trusting anyone on that. How could he, when his parents let him down so hard? They were the ones you were supposed to count on more than anyone else except Quinn couldn’t. How was he supposed to trust anyone then?

Erin was slowly rubbing off on him and he didn’t want to admit it. He couldn’t keep her around. He might start appreciating her presence. He had no idea she felt comfortable around him, enough to be bold. He thought she naturally was. Quinn was blunt sometimes. Well, most of the time. To the point of hurting people on occasions. If someone wanted to be nice, it was not his problem but he couldn’t understand this mentality of trying to please everyone. It was impossible and, in the end, all they did was take you for a doormat.

“What? No!” he exclaimed as he realised she was suggesting to getting him some safe and free sites. “I meant good that I won’t end up having to pay for anything. I don’t want your help finding sites like that,” he told her. This would be way too awkward. He was not letting Erin see his preferences when it came to that. Not even if she was homosexual and they could enjoy lesbian sites together. No way. Not happening. Ever.

“I don’t need you for that,” Quinn mumbled under his breath, not really wanting Erin to hear him. She sure didn’t need to steal any girl from him, he was able to sabotage himself on his own perfectly well. He wasn’t exactly the best at breaking the ice and talking to people. He was more the staring from afar type, both loving and hating this girl because he could never have that.

He rolled his eyes when she cooed at Pips and questioned whether he was taking good care of his pet or not. It was kind of funny to see her liking Pips so much though. He figured ferrets weren’t all that liked by girls since one, they stink and two, they bite. “You really think he’s cute? He’s not a bunny,” he pointed out. But it didn’t matter. He wouldn’t let her opinion matter about Pips. Although calling his ferret cute was weird for the boy. “What games you play anyway?” he asked. There was no point in talking video games if, in the end, she didn’t know the ones he played at.

"Let me know if you change your mind." Erin said with a small grin on her face. She figured it would only be a matter of time before Quinn would ask for something. How could someone not at least try and take advantage or see what it was like to be able to get their hands on certain things. It didn't have to be free sites for his viewing pleasure either. It could be video games, stuff animals, hell she would even give him money if he asked for it. She just wanted to be able to pay him back and she felt like Quinn would end up asking for something eventually. She just had to wait, which sucked but it was not like she was doing much else with her life.

"Are you a pro at finding them on your own?" Erin asked but more so under her breath and didn't dare look in Quinn's direction when she asked. No, looking would have been to bold but oh how she wanted to have a huge grin on her face and just give him a look. Erin hummed a little when Quinn said he didn't need her for that. So he lacks confidence in his skills picking up ladies, he is gay, or he is bad at getting his feelings across. I'm going to go with a combination of all three. Erin thought to herself as she gave a mental nod.

Erin thought Pips was adorable, she always liked the type of animal that looked not only cute but like it could probably kill you. Ferrets reminded her of a snake, mole, and mini Tasmanian devil all in one. "I think he is adorable!" Erin said sounding too excited but she calmed herself down and focused on her task. "Duh, he does not even look like a bunny." Erin added as she worked, again her words mumbled under her breath for the most part. She was mostly done with fixing his computer, turning it one and making going through the system startup to make sure everything looked right.

"Any game really. I like computer and console games best. A.K.A, board games suck." Erin said as her fingers flew across the keyboard with skill. "I guess MMOs, Shooters, and a few simulators here and there. You?" Erin explained a little bit more before asking Quinn what kind of games he liked.

Quinn tried not to show the discomfort he had about Erin suggesting she helped him find some dirty sites. Sure, he’ll let her and then he’ll suggest his favourite ones and they can spend an entire evening watching them and commenting on their content and which girls they liked the most. He didn’t think so. Even if she happened to be a guy with a more likeable personality and turned into his greatest pal, he wouldn’t do that. Whatever sites he went on, and he was not admitting going to any at this point, this would be done in his private time, away from anybody. “I’m not saying that!” he exclaimed on the defensive. She probably was only making fun of him and it irritated Quinn because he couldn’t kick her out just yet. He wanted to make sure everything was fixed first. Then, he’ll kick her out.

Erin didn’t strike him as the direct kind of girl either when it came to interacting with others. Maybe it was because he was a guy and she was a lesbian but even so, he couldn’t picture her as the kind to go to a girl and ask her out. He bet she would use her tech talk, making girls think she was crazy or something. Besides, the way she talked to him to suggest they should go out sounded like an awkward attempt to ask someone out and it appeared not to be the case. He wanted to believe she wasn’t that much better than he was at picking up ladies. Even if she happened to be really good at it, he would pretend she wasn’t. It made his life suck a little less.

It wasn’t like Quinn let girls in here to look at his ferret so he supposed he didn’t really know, but he never thought the creature would win him points with the ladies. Alright, so he wasn’t really winning any points with Erin, but still, she liked the furball and it was more than he expected. Even some of his roommates used to find the pet as creepy as its owner. “I never thought ferrets were cute, or adorable,” he let out although that comment didn’t really call for any reply.

Okay, so they probably played a lot of the same games. Didn’t mean anything. A lot of people played MMOs, they were not alone. “Anything that has a good storyline and isn’t first person,” he answered her. He wasn’t really good with first person game. You could only see in front of you and your weapon. He always freaked out that something would jump in his back.

Erin thought it would have been great to hang out with a guy and watch naughty sites together and make comments. Sure it probably would be awkward if either of them wanted to do something more than just watch but if they were just watching would it be that weird. Perhaps it would be better to just suggest a movie that had such features in it and then they could give commentary on it. Erin did want someone that she could talk to about girls after all, she loved girls. “Fine, fine.” Erin said as she gestured as if shooing the topic away.

If he didn’t want to talk about it then she was going to let it go until the need to know bothered her too much. Then she would probably ask him about it again, if she still didn’t get and answer and still desired to know then she would use her ‘skills’ to find out. It was largely the fact that Quinn was a guy that Erin was doing a lot better at being around him and behaving more of ‘herself’. Guys were cool, chill, and she didn’t have to worry about saying the wrong thing about wanting to sleep with them. She wanted to sleep with girls and thought about girls, so hanging out with guys was safe. Plus Quinn had a ferret and it was the cutest thing on the planet.

“Then why do you have one?” Erin asked as she looked at Quinn in a slightly confused manner. If you didn’t think something was cute then why would you have it around? Quinn had to at least think his ferret was like cool or evil looking in order for him to even bother taking care of the creature. She then answered his question, giving a wide range of the games she played. She mainly loved her games where she could have some level of customization, a good story, and she did like shooting or well anything that involved destruction or ending lives of the enemy.

“Ah, so do you like Skyrim? Fable? Fallout?” Erin asked, listing a few games that she knew had a relatively good story. Those were up there in her favorite games because they had customization, a good story, and you could even end up with someone. Wait…can you get married in Fable? Erin thought to herself before smiling as the computer booted up properly and everything was perfectly fine. She didn’t say anything however, not wanting to say that she was done and have Quinn tell her to leave. Even if it was kind of obvious that she was done since she started to pack up her gear.

Quinn couldn’t see that Erin might want to have someone she could talk of girls with. Then again, if she chose Quinn for that purpose, she didn’t exactly pick the right guy. Not that he was gay, he wasn’t and would not let anyone imply that he might be. It was only that Quinn never really had been close to someone enough to actually have this type of conversation. It was probably his fault, he tended to push away people the moment they tried to get near him. Quinn liked to think he was better in the shadows. Near people but not with them. He didn’t think he would fit in anyway.

He didn't care about Erin being gay. It wasn’t like he had a crush on the girl and even if he had one, it was a far better excuse not to do anything with him than to say he was a creep. At least it wouldn’t be his fault if he didn’t get any girl this time. But he didn’t want Erin. To him, she was more a mosquito, that keep coming back no matter how many times you shoo it away. He didn’t get why people were doing this really, going back at someone despite them telling them to go.

He looked at Pips in his cage. Quinn often felt closer to his ferret than the other students around here. He didn’t know if he should be content with that or sad. “I didn’t choose him because he was cute. I wanted a bird first but parrots are so expensive,” he explained. It probably explained why he was called Pips. It seemed to fit a bird more. Then again, he was not thinking about bird when he chose the name. “My aunt thought I was lonely here and let me get an animal,” he added as he looked once again at Pips. Poor creature probably had no idea what they were talking about but no matter how much of a burden cleaning him constantly so his room wouldn’t stink, Quinn did grow to like his pet.

“I do play Fable and a bit of Skyrim sometimes. I don’t talk much so as long as I can do my thing, I don’t really mind,” he answered as she named a few games. It seemed ironic to play online games and not talk a lot with the other players but Quinn was not always very logical. He would help other people or ask for them to help him, but other than that, he was generally quiet. “I play a bit of everything. Zelda, Assassin’s Creed, Saints Row... some Call of Duty too but not a lot. I’m not a big fan of first person games.” Again, he wondered why he was telling her all of this. Next, she’ll say they should play together at some point. He knew he was the one that brought video games first but he felt like he was the one trapped here. Doomed to spend time with Erin. Could it be worst? Well, yes, she could decide to hack in his computer again and make it worse. “Is it all fixed now?” he asked as he saw her packing her things.

"So you went for something cheaper and picked him?" Erin asked as she looked at Quinn slightly confused. She didn't really understand having to settle for second best, but she had always come from a nice amount of money and was an only child. That meant that she pretty much got whatever she wanted and growing up in Japan she typically got the latest and greatest of what she wanted. Looks like he treats you well, even if he wants a bird. Erin thought to herself as she looked at Pips. She was just so eager to get to hold the creature and she knew what she was going to order as soon as she got the chance. In fact, she could order it with her phone and hat was just what she was going to do but got distracted with what Quinn said next.

She was never really good at hiding her expressions so when Quinn pointed out that his Aunt had gotten him the pet because she thought Quinn was lonely, Erin had a sad expression on her face. HE dad thought that of her sometimes, buying her things to try and make up for him not being able to be around that much. Erin was lonely but that was why she had video games and her stuff animals to keep her company. "Well...we are going to be friends so you can tell your Aunt not to worry about you being lonely anymore." Erin said in almost a whispered tone. Quinn really was getting himself stuck with Erin at this rate. It was his fault for making her feel like they were two apples from the same tree or an expression along those lines.

They were talking about video games then, and of course that was enough to cheer Erin up from the whole 'being alone thought' for the moment. She was pleased that Quinn did play some of the games that she was familiar with. "You know what that means, right?" Erin asked but didn't really wait for Quinn to answer. "You and I are going to have to play video games together." Erin said, sounding a little more confident now. She was more than excited to play video games with someone that she actually knew in real life. We will play video games, get sugar wasted, and then talk about the hottest girls that we have seen in this school so far. It’s going to be amazing. Should I bring my video games then, oh what about my scandalous magazines? Erin's mind went off and started to wonder at that idea of it all.

Quinn's question was enough to pull her out of her thoughts, causing her to look down in almost a slightly disappointed manner. "Yeah, it’s good to go. So I can hold Pips then, yeah?" Erin answered his question and then quickly asked. She didn't want to leave the room and Quinn did say she could hold him after she was done.

“It’s not like I didn’t want him,” he defended himself real quick, as if Pips might be able to hear and take offense in this. He had first thought of a bird because he considered them to be low maintenance. Pips kept fooling around, often at night, making it hard for Quinn to sleep. He had to clean the cage more often, give the pet a bath to chase away the smell. Not to add that he could be quite the glutton at times. But Quinn would still not have any other pet. Pips was the closest to a friend he had around here. Besides, he could understand his aunt to hesitate with a parrot. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to pay things for him but she also had three boys of her own to take care of.

He turned his face away when he saw Erin suddenly growing sad because of him. Oh great, just what he needed, another one to pity him. Couldn’t they accept that he was fine like this? He stared back at her however, squinting his eyes at her when she said they were going to be friends. When was this decided? In the end, he chose to shrug it off. If it made her feel better to think they were friends, it was not his problem. As long as they were the kind of friends that weren’t seeing each other too often. That existed, right?

Quinn did play quite a few games. The only thing was that his games were often outdated. It wouldn’t be the latest version. His budget to buy games was limited so he often picked ones that were cheap because a second or third volume of such game already came up. He didn’t really care but that made him unfamiliar with the more recent versions. On his computer, he mostly had free online games and was not paying for anything for the same reason. He managed to startle this time when she said they had to play together at some point. “You mean like teaming up for some super hard dungeon and then kick the ass of some big boss together?” he said, fake enthusiasm in his voice. If she couldn’t get it was fake, the sudden lack of smile once he was done should prove it. “Why do you still bother?”

He rolled his eyes when she asked once again to hold Pips. He could easily say no but she was bugging him enough as it was and he didn’t want to give her any more excuses to do so. “Alright, alright,” he capitulated, going to the cage so he could take the ferret out. Pips was pretty excited about this, of course but Quinn hesitated for a moment before handling the small creature to Erin. “You know how to hold one, right?” Pips was likely to wiggle his way out of her hands, if not bite or scratch her. She better know this because Quinn refused to be responsible for whatever happened.

"Hmm." Erin just made a sound as her response to Quinn's words about it not being like he didn't want Pips. She never said that he didn't, she was just trying to understand how he came to have the pet that he did now. She had already put together that it was probably just that Quinn wanted a parrot but could not afford it so his aunt got him something cheaper which was the ferret but regardless he would have been given a pet because his aunt thought that he was lonely. That all made sense and Erin just nodded as it all clicked in her head. She didn't feel the need to say anything else on the matter because she knew all that she needed to know now.

She didn't really mean to pity him, it was more of an understanding and that she could relate on some level. Not that she was going to be all sob story about it all but she still pointed out that he and her were now going to be friends. They were going to be friends regardless because that made paying back a life debt easier for one and she needed to make friends. At least now she could call up her dad and say she had one so he could chill. The subject was on video games then once more and Erin was happy to talk about them for hours if Quinn as up for it. The problem was that Quinn didn't really seem like he would be up for anything. Baby steps with him. Erin thought to herself as she started to smile a lot at Quinn's question.

"Yeah! We could do a raid, or even just be on a team and destroy our enemies. We can even play some childish games like stupid Mario party if you want." Erin offered up and gave a small shrug to the end. She didn't really like party games because well she didn't really feel like there was enough hard core action. She was always a fan pf playing rated T for M games because they just felt like they had more to offer. There were a few AO games she played but she didn't really share that with anyone. She ignored that fake enthusiasm in his voice and made sure her voice was filled with it so he knew that she was serious. "Why do you still put up a fuss about it?" Erin asked. She wanted to say more, toss in an insult in there to make a point but she was not bold enough to say such things to Quinn's face.

Erin didn't have any intentions of allowing Quinn to take back that she could hold Pips now that she was done fixing his computer. She did wiggle a little excitedly when he did verbally give her the okay, changing how she was sitting so she could better hold the creature. She already had her hands out, ready to receive him and pouted slightly at the question. "Duh, not by his head or tail." Erin said as she practically made ‘gimme hands’ now.

Quinn didn’t like people questioning his motives. Then again, Quinn liked very few things when other people were involved. He understood that interest begets expectation and expectation begets disappointment, so to avoid disappointment, he had to avoid interest. A equals B equals C equals A, or whatever. It was all a fancy way of saying he didn’t want to be rejected again, so he rejected people before he’d get to like them. It also meant he didn’t have to justify why he had a ferret to Erin or care whether she liked it or not.

Quinn also didn’t care if he was a high maintenance guy because of this. He wanted to take he excelled at not giving a shit. He knew it was not the truth and he would bitterly hate on everyone late at night, when he’d be all alone and they would be out doing stuff together, without him. He knew it would also be all his fault but there really seemed to be no way out of his problem of being around people without ending hurt by them.

He thought Erin would lose all interest on him the moment she’ll consider her life debt paid. Because of this, he didn’t see the point in having any interest in him to begin with. But she was already picturing them teaming up to beat the ass of some tough enemy, or just beat Waluigi in a Mario Party game. He personally preferred a game where he they could compete on who would kill two hundred soldiers first. Wait, what was he thinking, seeing them playing anything!? She was starting to get to his mind and that was not good.

He sighed heavily, again feeling like he had to justify to her and not liking this. “Why do you care so much?” he said, replying to her question by another one. He really couldn’t get rid of her. It was strange, but he had the feeling to stop dealing with her, he had to deal with her first. This irony was not to please him but he understood that you sometimes need a little evil to achieve a greater good. “You know Dynasty Warriors?” he asked after letting out another heavy sigh. He was not doing a lot of MMO lately, at least none he thought he needed any help but she could still pick one of those sexy girls from that game and boost her up a little while he tried to finish some of the story mode in a character he less played with. He only had to remind himself it was necessary to get rid of her. “I might have some other co-op games,” he also said, in case she didn’t like his first choice or didn’t know of it.

Okay, maybe he was being stupid asking if she knew how to hold the ferret. It wasn’t that hard. “He likes to bite toes and fingers but it won’t really hurt,” he warned her as he finally agreed to let her hold his pet. He once lifted Pips in the air simply by lifting his foot, the ferret holding onto to his big toe. It didn’t hurt really and he barely had any mark, at least none that stayed too long. He still thought he should warn her though before she startled from this if he did it and sent Pips flying somewhere in the room.
