NAME: Clarus, Roy, Williams
NICKNAME: Roy
AGE: 17
GENDER: Male
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
POSITION: Student
FACE CLAIM: Brandon Jay McLaren
Biological Manipulation:
Clarus' power gives him the ability him to manipulate, shape, heal or destroy the cells of any living animal, including humans. Clarus' power is a mental kinetic ability, similar to most other kinetic abilities he needs a source(living body), line of sight, and to be able to focus on his ability in order for it to work.
As of now Clarus can only use his ability fully on himself, being able to manipulate, shape, heal and destroy his own cells. This lets him alter small physical traits like eye or hair color, or skin tone. He can destroy his own cells, which happen often randomly in mild cases resulting in breaking skin or random bleeding. Clarus could also heal other humans through touch, forcing their cells to grow and repair themselves. This healing only extends to minor wounds, small cuts, bruises, though he has trouble repairing scarred tissue.
In the future, given he reaches maximum potential, Clarus will have full control of his own body and will gain the ability to slow his own aging process adding on up to 20 years, regenerate damaged cells rapidly, change the shape or size of appendages, and alter his own DNA at will. He will also have by then have learned how to use his ability on various animals. He'd be able to heal others much faster from greater wounds, or destroy their cells through touch.
Limitations
(Trainable)
-Can only manipulate his own DNA.
-Can only accelerate the healing of others through touch up to twice as quickly.
-Any manipulation only lasts 20 minutes and takes an hour cooldown time before he can attempt again.
-Cannot change the shape of any body part.
-Can regrow limbs over the course of a year.
(Permanent)
-Must have full understanding of the human/animals' biology, gender does matter. So basically he has to understand both male and female physiology before he can use his ability on them.
-Healing himself or others burns calories healing others burns five times as much(can't make new cells out of nothing.)
-Must be able to focus on the the use of his abilities for the time it takes to use it.
-Cannot add completely new body parts (eg. wings, a tail, extra arms)
-Cannot alter height or weight.
-Cannot use powers on plants, fungus, or bacteria.
-Cannot regrow limbs of others.
Side-Effects
-Destruction of cells is extremely painful.
-Headaches
-High chance for cancer at random
-Skin cells dying rapidly causing skin to be sensitive and flaky
-Loses vision when he changes his eye color.
-Getting sick causes him to lose control over his power.
APPEARANCE SECTION:
Clarus is a light skinned black male standing around 5'6" with more room to grow. He has dark brown dreadlocks with lighter brown tips. His hair falls around his shoulders although most of the time he wears it in a ponytail. He barely grows facial hair though what little hie does have he keeps as 5 o'clock shadow.
Clarus has a somewhat athletic build. He stayed active as a kid but never actually worked out. His shoulders aren't too broad but their not narrow either. He almost never slouches and as a result his back is almost perfectly straight. He has no tattoos though he isn't opposed to getting one.
MUST HAVE APPAREL:
Clarus loves wearing vests. He'll try to throw a vest over almost any shirt and can pull it off most of the time. He usually wears high top running shoes, however if the weather is nice enough he will wear sandals.
PERSONALITY SECTION:
Clarus is a easily excitable person and very friendly. He enjoys hanging out with friends and family. He treats everyone, with the exception of clowns, with kindness and respect. His favorite thing to do is write whether it be short stories of poetry. He keeps writing even though most of his close friends tell him his writings are terrible. He writes more for the expression than the final product.
Clarus has three big fears; heights, cars, and clowns. He is most afraid of cars and refuses to enter one willingly. If he finds himself in a car he panics and tries to escape frantically. If he doesn't manage to escape he will either have flashbacks of the car crash he was in as a child or pass out. Heights make him to feel small and insignificant. He is less afraid of falling and more afraid of the overwhelming size of the earth. Though he is afraid of falling, don't get me wrong. Clowns, however make him more hostile. Clarus is more likely to punch a clown in the face than run away. There's just something about them being happy ALL the time.
EXTRA QUIRK:
Clarus will always carry a small black notebook on him. He uses it primarily to keep track of the things he eats. It also contains poetry and short stories he writes. Clarus is very clumsy though and often trips or knocks things over when he gets too excited.

CHILDHOOD:
Clarus grew up with his mom and dad in a suburban neighborhood. He had a decent relationship with his siblings, but was closest to his twin Titus. He and Titus would make competitions out of everything, grades, sports, eating dinner, all of which Titus won every time.
Clarus never got a chance to get too close to his older brother, who left to join the army when Clarus started school. The only knowledge he had of his older brother past that point was the letters that were sent back home. Clarus started looking up to his older brother, unlike Titus who was upset that his older brother left them. Clarus decided that he wanted to join the military too, just as his big brother did.
Clarus' parents didn't like the idea of sending two of their sons into armed service. They tried tirelessly to persuade Clarus into other fields like medicine, science, or law. His parents would even take him to work with them during breaks to show him how exciting their jobs could be.
Out of both of his parents' jobs he enjoyed being at the hospital with his mother, helping people. He thought that his mother, being a nurse, always knew what to do to brighten her patients day. His father on the other hand spent most of his time talking on the phone and drawing building plans. Clarus, being terrible at drawing and having no interest in building detested going to work with his dad.
ADOLESCENCE:
When he went to high school, Clarus had life goals set out for himself. He wanted to become a doctor and treat patients with a kind and warm smile just like his mother did. He'd forgotten about joining the military but kept in touch more with his older brother. He spent his days, going to school and clubs and would return home each day to call his brother.
He and Titus slowly started growing apart due to different interests. Their family had a new addition when their parents had Ivan, which only added to the tension between Clarus and his twin. Clarus was okay with receiving less attention from their parents but Titus resented his new sister for it. Titus began misbehaving in school and coming home late in the years that followed. Titus also missed their 17th birthday party, and when asked why he just shrugged like it was no big deal.
Some a few months into their junior year, Clarus got tired of not knowing where his brother was going or what he was doing, Clarus followed Titus after school. He followed Titus to a junk yard where he saw his brother with some rather scary looking men, most of which were drunk. Clarus watched his brother take of his shirt and walk into a makeshift ring of tires and scrap metal. Some large man stepped into the ring and the drunk men standing around the ring started shouting and placing bets.
He witnessed his brother fight and knockout the older fighter in minutes. Clarus, amazed and stunned ran out to see if his brother was okay. When he got into the ring with his brother he noticed that his brother didn't have any bruises or marks even though he saw his brother take huge hits. Clarus was picked up from behind by one of the drunk men but Tutus attacked him getting him to drop Clarus. Titus told Clarus to run Clarus heard a loud pop sound and watched as his brother fell to his knees. Clarus watched his brother get shot in the back of his head. Shortly after, the guy who Titus attacked hit Clarus over the head with a pipe knocking him out and making a gash in his head.
The next day Clarus woke up in car dangling in the air above a car compactor. His brother was in the back seat lifeless. The car fell into the compactor, which hurt a lot. Clarus had no idea how he was still alive, or able to move, and although he felt pain he knew he needed to get out and his body healed quickly, at least enough to move. He managed to pull himself and his brother out of the compactor before it crushed them and went to find help.
Clarus reports what happened to the police who are skeptical at first but the evidence supports his story and they track down the people who murder his brother. His family had a funeral for his brother within the week, however Clarus was silent the entire time. After the funeral his parents tried to get him to open up and explain what happened but Clarus simply remained quiet, not having spoken since he'd given the statement to the police. The day after the funeral his parents were visited by people claiming to be from a private school. They get Clarus to open up and explain what happened. His parents, starting to understand what their son was going through and supported him in the transition to the new school.

SAMPLE:
The wind howled as it whipped past Clarus. He stood atop the rock jutting from the side of the cliff. He looked over the edge to see Titus hanging onto a pane of broken glass. "Brother!" Titus' screams echoed across the cliff. Clarus wanted to help his brother but he couldn't move. He looked down to see himself bound to the side of the cliff by a seat belt.
"Titus!" Clarus called back as he struggled against his restraints. Clarus started to panic, moving frantically in an attempt to break the belt that wrapped around his chest and elbows. Clarus felt his body getting heavier and stronger.
"Roy, I'm slipping!" His brother's voice full of pain. Clarus pushed against the belt breaking the wall behind him. He ran to the edge and grabbed his brother's hand.
"I got you Titus. I got you bro." Clarus repeated trying to reassure his twin.
"Wow Roy, you got bigger."
"Stay with me Titus. I can pull you up." Clarus felt weak. His brother was unnaturally heavy for someone so small and getting heavier the longer Clarus held on to his hand. Clarus tried to make himself stronger but he just couldn't. "I got you Titus. I won't let you fall this time. I can do this."
"No Roy, you can't." Titus' voice was cold and monotonous. Clarus' face went blank. His eyes got hot and tears rolled down his face. he started to lose his grip as Titus' arm became slick with blood.
"Don't let go!" but it was too late. Clarus felt his brother's grip loosen and he watched as his brother plummeted into the rocky waters below.
Clarus found himself drenched in sweat. "The nightmares are back." He grunted in pain as he attempted to sit up. He pulled back his blanket to see why he was in pain. In his sleep he reduced the density of his bones and muscles making it extremely difficult to move. He relaxed and focused his mind on his bones first, returning them to their usually size and density before doing the same to his muscles. "Well I'd better get dressed would be embarrassing to be late on my first day of class."
