Bodyguarding

Roxana would inform her organization as Elsa had asked but she still planned to do a little bit more digging but tucked that thought away for now. Elsa was already sharing a lot with her and she didn't want to push her luck too much. Having the relationship that she did with Elsa allowed her to have access to all of this information after all and it made a lot easier than having to always sneak and break into things to get a hold of what she was looking for. She had devices that also helped her collect information but having hard copies to go off just added to the proof that her organization like to have. Roxana had asked her question, the threat had been pointed out, and Roxana accepted it as it was.

There was no point in fighting it after all, it would just be a waste of time and Roxana personally did not want to force herself onto someone who did not want her. She had to deal with something close to it before and if she didn't enjoy it then she doubted Elsa would. If Elsa had brought up the fact that Roxana would have been killed more than likely if such information got out, then Roxana would have just suggested that Elsa stay out of her head. Or to not believe everything that she heard Roxana thinking about. She thought about a lot of things and while that still didn't change the fact that such a thought about what her organization would do was true, she didn't want Elsa changing her behavior because of that.

It was like when a scientist did an experiment but did not want to do anything that would possibly change the natural results of the experiment. Roxana just slightly shook her head at Elsa's words about how Vera called dibs on punching Ellen, but of course Roxana would put a stop to that in a heartbeat. Or perhaps let the girls each get one hit in before breaking up any fights between an actual targets that was of high priority. Roxana did look at Elsa for a moment when she brought up Francois names. "I don't do well with Empaths." Roxana said in a plain and simple voice, making her point. She already had Elsa in her head and she did not want someone reading or picking up how she was feelings. Yet, she agreed to the job basically so she was not going to back out but she was going to have to think of some way to avoid being near an empath unless it was for a short amount of time.

"I don't either," said Elsa, nodding, "at least not very well. They make me uneasy and ill at ease. But I'm not asking you to deal with an empath: I'm asking you to deal with Francois Laffont, a person who happens to have a talent for understanding people and their ebbs and flows that goes beyond his mutant ability to actively pick up other people's emotions."

Elsa finished, then looked over at her computer, considering. She hadn't included that file, hadn't given Roxana that information just yet. But this seemed like as good a time as any to at least hint. "And if you're worried about empaths, you should take another look at our incoming visitors,' she looked up at Roxana, locking eyes. dangerous, as it gave Elsa full access to Roxana's thoughts. Not that she wasn't already rummaging around and reading whatever she wanted anyway.

"You've got quite a bit of reading to do, actually. And studying," Elsa smirked, raising a brow. "Sure you're up for all this? Or should I be looking for someone else to present as my official bodyguard?"

At least Elsa got where Roxana was coming from, the both felt pretty much the same about those who could sense their emotions. Roxana just didn't like the idea of people knowing how she felt deep down behind her calm nature. If you didn't really know how you felt and someone said something to you, revealing how you really were feeling...could it break you? There was a small fear there that she would be told something that she didn't want to hear or expect to ever here. What if an Empath said that deep down Roxana saw herself as weak? No, that would be a lie. She was confident in her ability and even if a stupid Empath said she was feeling something else deep down she would not believe it. At least that was what she wanted to believe but until she had to face the matter she could not be certain.

"He is still an Empath. If you make sure he keeps from feeling mine or sharing whatever I'm feeling, I'll be less guarded about it." Roxana responded back, still not liking the idea of it, but she would have to deal with it. In life you had to deal with things that you didn't like and Rox was especially used to doing what she didn't want to do in her line of work. She also already agreed; without saying it, that she was going to be a part of Elsa's group that she was putting together. Roxana's interest was piqued when Elsa brought up the people that would be visiting the school; which Roxana was still iffy about. She thought it was a bad idea but Elsa and Erika had already made the decision on the matter so she was going to have to deal with it. Just have many sleepless nights because of reading up on everyone and laying out everything she could in order to ensure she could keep an eye on her targets and the new comers.

Elsa was smirking after making a comment about how Roxana had a bit of reading and studying to do, as if Roxana didn't already have to do all of that. On top of the homework in college and her internship with the Security Squad. Yes, sleep seemed like it was not going to happen at least for a few nights in a row. Roxana was smirking a little at the sort of challenge in there but it quickly went away at the later part of Elsa's words. Wait, did she just say present her as her official bodyguard? Roxana's gaze went to Elsa then, looking at the girl in silence for a moment. "So are you saying that you want me to be your official bodyguard...with everyone knowing about it?" Roxana asked as she kept her eyes locked on Elsa. She wanted to say more there, about how come Elsa was not picking someone like Vera or someone that was an official member of security and not an intern.

Even if Roxana was already a professional and it all made sense and she was already Elsa's bodyguard, but Elsa was talking about presenting her as such. After being told to tell her organization about the council Elsa was making and now an offer; or perhaps telling her, with an offer to be a personal bodyguard.

"He's an empath with high control," reiterated Elsa, "and he's promised to be careful about this sort of thing. He's there to make sure we don't do anything too outrageous or evil, sort of our Jiminy Cricket," which was probably a slightly unfair comparison (unless you follow the television show Once Upon a Time, in which case it was terribly accurate).

More thoughts to follow, with Elsa actually feeling a little sorry for Roxana, which she doubted the other girl wanted or needed in the slightest. "There's always a lot to--" she began, only to pause when Roxana asked her question. She laughed lightly. "As if that's really that much of a surprise. I'm going to need to present someone as a bodyguard when the recent arrivals come. I really should consider finding someone to guard Erika too, though I may talk to Vera..." she paused, frowning. That would technically be assigning a telekinetic to watch a telekinetic. Elsa sighed, realizing then that it would make more sense for Roxana to guard Erika and Vera to guard Elsa.

If only things weren't complicated there.

"For once I'd just like a clear relationship without complications," mumbled Elsa, rubbing at her forehead and looking down. It was a moment of weakness that even she wasn't quite aware she was showing for Roxana. She'd just been doing so much lately, and the fact that she kept getting frustrated there was affecting her more then she cared to admit. She knew she didn't really need a relationship, but with all the happy ones around her, and her own roiling feelings...

High control didn't really make Roxana feel any better about dealing with the Empath...Franck. She would have preferred someone that was new to their power and could say only pick up on one person's feelings at a time or could pick up the ones around them, but on a small level that they would get them confused. She really just didn't want someone picking up how she was feeling or even having a small hint to it. She would still deal with it because she had to, but she was still going to voice her uncomfortable nature of the matter. She understood why Elsa wanted him on the team and it was a good idea she just didn't like it. She made her point on the matter and with that out of the way she had nothing else to say on that matter. Elsa was right that Rox would not have wanted Elsa to pity her or anything along those lines; pity was just not something her family dwelled in.

Pity had its merits on some level but in this case and pretty much any other case she did not want it. Elsa was saying something but stopped because Roxana's was still talking. She wished that Elsa would bring things back up later, but by the time they would get to the end of it all she would either forget about it, or figure that if it was really important that Elsa would bring it up later. Elsa laughed slightly at Roxana's question, but she expected it and was not bothered by it. Roxana knew that Elsa needed to present someone as her bodyguard, but Roxana still did not understand why Elsa was picking her of all people to be that person. She had everything that would make sense for her to have the position but again there were still others that Elsa could choose. "I figured you would have enjoyed the company and protection of someone like Vera." Roxana said in a simple tone and kept her eyes on Elsa.

She had been watching Elsa long enough by now and the last time she had brought up Vera she had caught how Elsa reacted, even if it had been slightly. Now the reaction was as clear as day which slightly worried Roxana. She expected Elsa would get to this point but it was still odd to see it happening to Elsa because of what Roxana was used to seeing the other girl like mainly. She caught the mumble, if only a part of it but it still had been enough for her to catch enough to know what Elsa was talking about. Not that she could relate but she knew what she was talking about and was moving to grab a seat again, crossing her arms and looking at Elsa for a moment in silence. "Did you want to talk about anything Elsa? Not work related that is. Since as always I do care about your mental state as well as your physical state." Roxana pointed out, her gaze never leaving from being locked on Elsa.

Yes, yes Elsa would enjoy the protection and company of Vera. That was the problem.. She sighed again, rubbing at her face, clearly thinking that she had too much time on her hand if she was getting this worked up. It really just made sense: she'd promoted Vera and Roxana so they could be legitimately placed into the right positions. She trusted Rox and was sure that Erika would at least tolerate the other girl.

Elsa heard Roxana moving, heard her take a seat, and she raised her head, an exasperated and tired expression on her face. "No, I don't," said Elsa. she rubbed at her face. "You're right, it would make more sense for me to have Vera as a guard and for you to guard my sister," Elsa sighed, hoping there was some way she could do that or set it up so it didn't sound like she was purposefully trying to create alone time with Vera. Maybe speak with Riley? Yes, because that wouldn't be awkward. Worse, it was Riley; he'd probably just get turned on by the idea that two girls he found attractive would want to "get it on."

"you're dismissed," said Elsa, looking to Roxana, "and believe me: I'm fine." She said that last with formality and a tight smile, "though I'm now nurturing a headache from lingering in your mind so long. I'll get an aspirin later," she waved a hand dismissively, not wanting Roxana to know that she would have to get much, much stronger medication than an aspirin to handle what she was facing now.

Roxana could understand how it would have been a problem having someone looking after you that you had feelings for, but that made it all the more reason why she figured that Elsa would want it. Why not have someone that you feel comfortable around, trust, and want to be around you on some level? It would certainly make the body guard’s job easy enough to look after a person who was willing to deal with your constant presence around them vs the person complaining and saying over and over again how they did not want you. Plus it would give Roxana a break from having Elsa always in her head and the contact...well everything that typically happened when she was around Elsa. None of that conflicted feeling or whatever other feelings popped up when dealing with Elsa and her oh so to the point ways with so many.

Roxana was actually interested in observing how Elsa was going to be with having Vera guard her and Rox of course had no problem looking after Erika. She was again already looking over all of the Bellefonte siblings, this matter would just be on the more public side is all. As expected Elsa responded in the way that she always would, which just caused Roxana to let out a small sigh but accepted it like always. "Then I will look after your sister. While you should look into going to a party or...having a few drinks to ease some of your stress." Roxana responded back with a suggestion in there about Elsa basically taking something of a break. She made a mental note to herself as well, already standing up because she had a feeling Elsa's next words were already coming. Again Roxana did still slightly wonder if her relationship with Elsa could actually be called a friendship. It more often than not felt more like an employee or trusted advisor for what Rox was to Elsa with how everything always involved business and their interactions would end when the business was complete.

Gathering up the files Elsa gave her she made sure that she had everything while still listening to Elsa's words. Words that Roxana was taking as a lie on some level because it was obvious that Elsa was not fine, but Roxana was not going to push the matter. She gave Elsa a look when the girl brought up being in her mind for so long and waving things off. Roxana made another mental note there as well but didn't say anything as she headed towards the door then when she had everything that she needed to look over gather up. "Until next time, Elsa." Roxana said in a simple tone and with that she opened up the door and headed out for her room.
