Serena's hands occasionally trailed through the seams and edges of her clothing, making sure that it was all straight and still looking good. It was a basic kind of habit which she did while she was thinking of something or trying to focus on something, which in this case was making sure that she didn't make the nervous girl want to run for the hills.
She shook her head with a smile. "No, that's quite alright. I don't mind using normal mugs at all. I do most of the time when I'm having a cup with my friends, a lot of them can't help but be amused when I decide to drink tea out of china or the like."

"Well, um, we could, uh, be friends if you want," offered Zoe, knowing full well how stupid that sounded. Her hands had started working at each other, one pulling at a finger on the other. She had to be careful with that, not wanting to pull a glove off and all. "I mean, we don't have to or anything. We can just have tea. Tea is good, splendid, even."
Zoe was flushing again and she started walking a little faster. The sooner they got to the part where there was actual consumption of something, the better off she would be. If for no other reason then said tea drinking would allow Zoe to have something to distract herself.
"It's strange, isn't it?" she said almost immediately, not wanting to give Serena time to jump on the awkwardness. "How there's no real tea time here? I don't remember too many from when i was in London, since I was quite young and all, but I do remember sitting down with my father and having tea fairly regularly. I used to have this quaint little set that I think was his mother's, and we'd have little tea parties..." Zoe trailed off, realizing that she'd managed to move from just awkwardly asking to be friends with a near strange to oversharing. "Sorry... I just... I get nervous around... people." And cue another deep flush.
