Apart from the major site events/plots we'd like to host minor ones, such as for example proms, dances, class/school trips/camping, time warps, etc, etc. However, we would also like to host events you guys actually WANT, so why don't you reply to this thread with a few suggestions and perhaps a little information with what you'd like for us to host.
It can be anything, both silly and serious - and all suggestions will be taken under consideration. Is there anything you would like to see happening around the school? A specific type of dance, maybe a trip for the entire school to a lodge in the mountains? The possibilities are endless, so share as many ideas as you'd like!
(This thread has no expiration date.)
Thank you in advance, The Bellefonte Staff
Remember to check out the open threads and the plotters for new plots and threadage!

A rival school for the gifted tries to pull pranks and whatnot and thus staff and students have to show their school pride by laying the beatdown? I dunno. Trip to the lodge sounds more simplistic.

I've found that shifting the scene for a bit can be really helpful, as in putting us all in the mountains or on a cruise ship or whatnot. Especially if multiple characters are trapped in one situation (even better if said characters might not necessarily get along with one another).
I also recall a game that I used to play along with a group called "The Assassin Game", a variation of which could be fun. Basically, one or two characters are selected at random to do something. In the game, they were supposed to "kill" people by winking at them or taking them aside. Those people are then out of the game. The idea is for those being "hunted" to try and figure out who's doing the hunting. Could be as simple as someone going around pranking people (or even outright copying the game), or get really deep and AU.
I also recall an awesome plot where some force kidnaps love interests and hides them away in a location that requires their opposite love interest to go get them. That might be more interesting when there's a set villain; it definitely feels like something to go for after some more time passes.

I have thought up a few more events as possibilities:
Invasion of the Reporters
This one is likely going to be more of an "after the world finds out" thing, but it could be done before that. The basic idea is that a lot of reporters or people with cameras arrive in Kalispell for whatever reason. But at least part of their goal is to record various mutants in action. Now, naturally the Academy would be all like "behave yourself and don't stir" to the mutant populace, but they can't quite stop everyone. It's entirely likely that there's gonna be fame hungry students who dance like monkeys for the camera, or possibly students that are just unlucky and have to deal with the nosy camera crew. Could also have a variation in, say, a Convention of some kind being held in Kalispell. Or auditions for a reality show.
Mutant Pox
A disease hits Kalispell, as severe or as light as you want (I'd lean more toward light personally), that for some reason, only seems to hit mutants. It could even be that it only affects mutants with certain abilities, like, perhaps, all those with mental abilities or more supernatural ones. The idea is to get it as malleable as possible, so that it could hit certain people or what have you.
Dorm Fire
Pretty basic: light a section of the dorms on fire for whatever reason. Or destroy them in some form or fashion. Then, the various students have to move around, possibly even doubling up or what have you.
Road Trip
Again, not one that I figure needs much explaining. Take a group of students and let them visit somewhere a little further away. Not sure it would be quite as popular as the others.

Under New Management You know that classic sort of Umbridge situation. Someone steps in and makes the students life a living hell like maybe someone from the government convinced whoever that the school wasn't being managed correctly or the headmaster mysteriously disappeared leaving some bureaucratic dictator in charge. Either way changes are being made and the students won't like them. How severe like whether the students are treated like prisoners in Guantanamo Bay or just restricted in activities/curfew is in the air depending on how things go.
Extreme Weather Earthquake, tornado, avalanche, forest fire, you name it. Something that could cause some injury or some damage and just bring the students together. (Please forest fire that would be so fun)
Mutant Cure Yes this one would be suggested eventually. Students could be kidnapped and wake up in cold labs tied to a table and probed and stuff while some organisation or individual looks for a cure or at least some way to suppress powers or just some common genetic denominator between mutants. The students could be returned (or not) either completely alright (maybe convinced they were probed by aliens) or with a steady supply of drugs being administered into them somehow while they're monitored.
Everyone's worst nightmares Somehow some hallucinogenic drugs are dispersed into the air or into the water/someone's powers do the thing and everyone's tripping balls as their nightmares become realities. Hallucinations seem real and to anyone experiencing, they are real to them. Basically everyone's in a nightmare and will really need a huge hug afterwards.
Random Penpals I think it'd be cool if there was some anonymous way two characters could be hooked up and write letters to each other and nobody would know until like a big revealing or something. Then they can meet up in Bellefonte and stuff.
Speed Dating/Friending Either one's cool. Maybe like a post limit or time limit where characters do a speed dating sort of thing?
Overnight Trip to the Zoo/Museum/Aquarium I know some places will let student groups spend a night at a zoo/museum/aquarium. How much trouble could happen in one night?
Wishing Well It doesn't have to be an event but it could also be an event. Sort of a people make a wish and it doesn't end up as it seems sort of thing? Either way Bellefonte needs a wishing well.

This is partially to bump this and partially to let people know. If you've got ideas or ways you'd like the plot to unfold or suggestions for things that we could try, please let us know. We love having member impact, and we want to design plots and events that work more toward what everyone on the forum wants.
If you'll look already, you'll see that several of the ideas that were listed in this thread were turned into events or plot movements. We really do read through these and discuss them as possibilities for where we can take things. If you guys can give us the feedback, then we can use that moving forward and make this some place that we all want to post in.
So feel free to throw out ideas! Don't worry about whether they're too silly or too serious, and you don't even have to have it developed or even more than a vague outline.
The whole point of RPing is to write together, to build off ideas and write a story collaboratively with several people. So don't be shy: let us know what sort of events you'd like to see!

Since eugenics are such a huge thing and because forced sterilization is something that's occurred in the past and is continually occurring in the U.S., particularly in regards to trans people and people of color, I feel like there would be an attempt by some(either the government, or a powerful political persona, or pharmaceutical giant etc.) to start forcibly sterilizing people with the mutant gene without their knowledge or consent, since it's passed down through families. Or like, denying treatment for something unless they accept being made sterile, or something along those lines.
I don't know how many students it would directly affect per se, but it could be an issue they're aware of, or unaware of depending on where you want it to go.
EDIT:
Also this:

I really loved this idea from Lucas' RPer

The Academy Tournament/"Bellefonte Games"
Whats a school without a little inner competition? Hence the Academy tournament, otherwise known as the "Bellefonte Games."
Students are split up and placed within one of the four teams: Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, or Topaz (Teams will be themed. Can be colors, metals, or whatever. That's up for changes.) The teams will consist of both students of the regular Bellefonte school and college students to encourage interaction between the younger and older members of the Academy. Once students are placed within a team, they are not allowed to change or play for another team.
There would be a series of miniature tournaments set up here and there as fun games to play over the weekend and get everyone used to their teams and teammates, but the real Bellefonte Games would take place over a week.
During the real Games, each team would select five members to compete in the five games: A relay race (both on land and in water), a triathlon (swim, bike, run), an obstacle course, and the last game of dodgeball. The team that wins the most games wins the Bellefonte Games and would get prizes both for the five winning members themselves and for their entire team, although with the Bellefonte Cup. The other prizes can consist of custom jackets for the five chosen, and free lunches for the overall winning team. (Prizes can be up for changes)
For the games themselves, both relay races would use four of the five chosen while the triathlon would use three. In the obstacle course challenge and the ending dodgeball tournament, all members would have to play. During the first three games (both relays and the triathlon), all members would have to participate in at least one of the initial games. One member would not be allowed to sit out both relays and the triathlon.
All powers are allowed to be used within the games themselves by the chosen five's, except they are not allowed to be used to interfere with the other chosen five of any of the other teams. This includes mind control, hypnotism, or any other similar powers being used on opponents in or outside of the games. This also includes disrupting another team's match in any way, shape or form. Intimidation or bribery are also not allowed. The rules of the different games are to be followed to the T or else a team will receive a penalty or even be disqualified. Good sportsmanship in and out of the Games is also expected of all students, chosen five or no, and can also result in a penalty and even disqualification if things get too bad.
Can't believe I forgot to say, but this siggie is from Nu!
