NAME: Erin, Marie, Hackett
NICKNAME: E, Hack, or L33tHack (on the net/video games)
AGE: 18
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Homosexual
POSITION: Bellefonte Student
FACE CLAIM: Allison Scagliotti
POWER:
Concealment
This ability basically allows Erin to conceal herself, others, and even objects from being seen or even heard by those who she is not concealing. This means that if she was hiding herself and someone she was talking to, no one around them would hear them or even see them. It would be basically like they were not even there at all. This ability comes in very handy when trying to be secretive, trying to get some privacy, or even to just hide something or someone from someone else. When using her ability her eyes become dilated for the whole time she uses her power, and when done the go really small for a moment before returning back to normal. Her ability is a mental one that works within a 6ft radius around her. Those she is using her power on will not feel any different, and the world around them will pretty much look and sound the same as if they were not being hidden. Her power also has a tie to her emotional response to fear, causing her to use her power without her choice when she is really scared.
Limitations
-As of right now her power only works in a 6ft radius around her, that with training will hopefully increase.
-She removes herself, others, and objects from being seen or heard but that does not mean that someone can’t smell them. Those with a good sense of smell (or someone or something has a strong smell to it) would be able to tell that she and whoever was there.
-Physical contact; outside those who she is using her ability on, causes her ability to stop working on whatever was touched, all together if Erin is touched. That is to say that if she and a person were talking and she was keeping them hidden but someone ran into her, the person would suddenly be able to see and hear Erin and said other person.
-She can only use her power for at max an thirty minutes at a time, passed that point her power will just stop working for a time being and she will have a nasty headache. With training she hopes to improve this time limit.
-In a the course of a day she can only use her power up to seven times a day; that includes even when she accidentally uses it. After that she needs to rest for the rest of the day before being able to use her power again but training could also improve this number.
Side-Effects
-Due to her eyes being dilated when she uses her power, it causes her eyes to be sensitive to light.
-Her vision starts to get really blurry when she is close to her thirty minutes time limit, and if she uses her power too many times back to back it causes temporary loss of vision for a few seconds to a minute or so.
-She gets headaches often that progress to the level of painful migraines the longer and more frequent she uses her power without breaks.
-When fear triggers her power, her eyes and head immediately hurt as soon as she stops using her power. The fear trigger occasionally; but not often, causes her to use her power twice in almost like a manner of flickering, and when this happens the side effects hit harder and even worse than they would at a normal fear trigger. This ends up leaving her with not site for a few moments and a crippling headache that brings her to the ground.
-Do to how fear causes an uncontrolled use of her power; she tends to try and avoiding situations in where she would be scared. She avoids large crowds as best as she can and more often than not spends most of her time to herself.
APPEARANCE SECTION: Erin has light brown hair that goes down to about her chin, and a little lower on the right side of her face in the front a little. She tends to dye a streak of her hair; on the right side where she keeps it longer, several different colors from reds, blues, greens, and purples. She has light brown eyes that seem to match her hair and eyebrow color, and small eyelashes. She has never been a real shapely girl, but she certainly does have something of a small shape. A body that if you did look at you could tell she was female. Peach skin tone; despite spending a lot of her time indoors, and velvety soft skin. She has naturally pink lips and white teeth; having lucked out and not gotten her dads slight overbite gene. Standing at 5’ 7", Erin is not as tall as her father but is still pretty tall for a girl with the potential to possibly grow some more; even if she does not think she will.
She always wears her hair out, with the occasional tucking part of it behind her ear. She has both her ears pieces, twice on each ear and a tattoo of her hacker tag on the back of her right shoulder. He face overall does not really have any blemishes, but being a teenager she does get the occasional breakouts here and there that are always easy to manage. She normally does not move around anywhere at a fast pace; not being a fan of running, and only actually does more than a small jog when in fear. Erin is not skinny like a twig, she is in a healthy weight limit with some meat on her bones, but burns through calories at a good weight that she can maintain her hacker lifestyle without worrying about becoming what apparently is viewed as the stereotypical fat person at the computer
MUST HAVE APPAREL: Erin pretty much got her clothing taste from her father, so to say that she is a tomboy would be spot on. Yet she has no problems with putting on a dress, or shirt, or making herself look like a pretty girl. The standard however tends to end up being jeans, undershirt, shirt, and some form of jacket. In other words Erin is a girl who loves her layers, and that is largely do to the fact that she gets cold easily. Living inside with the AC always cranked up pretty high to make sure her computers and tech does not overheat causes her to have to dress warmly and she does not mind it at all. For jackets she tends to go with hooddies, vest, and leather; liking jean, leather, and cloth like fabrics the most.
She always has her earrings in, and tends to wear ‘punk style’ wrist bands on a regular basic. It’s not an always for her, but she often likes to have something around her wrist to play with or more likely use to hold something together. Sneakers are pretty much a must, unless again she is dressing for something special; which never really happens so sneakers it is. She pretty much always has a belt on with her jeans, the designs again depending on the overall look of something a mix of a light punk, skater, and some techie mixed all in one.
PERSONALITY SECTION: Erin is the kind of girl that is totally he stays inside on the computer all day and night type. She does well running on little sleep since she is often staying up very late and power nap tends to be enough for her. You would never see her doing an actual sport in her life, not being the physically after type and has only ever known to do more than a jog when she is scared and trying to get away from a fear causer. She loves computers and just technology in general and is really good at fixing, breaking, and hacking them into doing something they were not originally capable of. Despite her being stuck on a computer or even video games for hours on end, she still takes good care of herself. In terms of making sure she eats, takes bathroom breaks, and stretch out a little bit every so often.
She also is very neat with things in her room to almost an OCD level, unless she is competing in like some kind of gaming competition and just too focused to worry about a chip mess or empty soda cans laying around the room. When she is on the computer or playing a video game she is full of confidence and ready to dish out the smack talk. Thinking pretty highly of herself and her skill level with computers and games and takes on more of a ‘in your face’, flirtatious, and bold attitude; with a hint of dark mystify to it. Face to face with another person, she is still all that, but inside her head and sometimes out loud depending on how far away a person is from her. If they are like arms reach or just in general in her personal space, she will become so shy, make herself appear small, and likely end up running away in a heat beat. She still will be thinking things in her head of course while she is running away and its even likely that once she is at good enough distance again she will be bold again.
In the realm of fears, Erin actually has a few big ones that are a major part of why she acts and does what she does. Her two biggest fears are earthquakes and thunderstorms; the earthquakes being the reason why she likes to be under something, even if she knows a blanket is not going to protect her head. Thunderstorms in general just cause her to jump and pretty much curl up once she gets inside, since there would be no way she could handle staying outside with it thunder storming. The worse the thunderstorms are, the likely she is to end up even crying a little out of fear.
When interacting with teachers she tends to be more of the silent rebel in where if she feels like something is a waste of her time she will just sit there in silence until she can be convinced that something is useful, or the teacher just pretty much gets to close and it scares her into action. With others her age, again it just all depends on if it’s online, on a video game, and how close they are to her in person. She tends to be a pretty nice person, saying hi to people she passes, at least making small talk, and even will help out with things depending on if it’s something she enjoys and how much effort it would involve. If you are a female, expect her to be staring and thinking a ton of thoughts about you; to the point if she really starts to like you, you will likely start to see her around a lot more. Start getting random flowers and odd anonymous love letters either hand written or even popping up in your email; since yes she totes will hack your email just to say she thinks you’re beautiful.
EXTRA QUIRK: Something that is really a big quirk of Erin’s, is that she liked to be underneath things. So if you were ever to enter her room she be likely sitting or lying under her desk or bed, and anything else that she can get under. When she is sitting in chairs she will even put a blanket over her head, just to get the whole ‘being under something’ feeling. When she is not able to be under something she tends to like to be closed to the ground or often hunches over a little bit to keep her head low, only standing tall when she is well standing; and also not scared at the moment. Another quirk that does not occur all the time is when she starts to speak in L33t Speak, which is basically saying numbers in place of letters, as well as sometimes random mathematical words. The thing she likes more than anything would have to be her custom and self-built computer with her favorite thing to eat at any time of the day being chocolate chip cookies; the Chips Ahoy brand.

WORTHY MENTIONS: None
CHILDHOOD: Erin was not really born into a family that was full of love and all smiles, and more so a relationship that had been struggling to stay together. Amanda had fallen in love with Steven in high school, digging his roughish look and just how smart he was. She figured she would end up having a good life with him and he was just so sweet. The only thing that Amanda seemed to not be willing to accept was how much time Steven spent on the computer and playing video games in general. They would always end up in fight; mainly one sided since Steven was pretty much always calm, but the fights happened either way. Words tending to go around that he should be putting his mind to good use with a job that would make them a lot of money. Even with Steven actually getting paid a nice amount of money do to video game sponsorships and also the occasional grey hacking he did to help out the police officers. It helped that he was also a mutant with the ability to literally have the mind of a master computer when he would use his power while on the computer.
Steven did aim to please his girlfriend eventually. She seemed to always be at odds with him but refused for them to actually break up with him and when the graduated it was like she personally made sure that she ended up pregnant with Erin. Steven wanting to be a good father did end up landing a very good job all the way over in Japan. Steven went overseas first to settling in while his wife remained behind to give birth to their daughter, wanting her to have citizenship of course. Steven did manage to fly in on time to meet his new baby girl and the family all leaving together to live in Japan. Growing up Erin was a very quiet kid, this worrying Amanda greatly and thinking something was wrong with their daughter. Having multiple tests run on Erin and finding that nothing was wrong with Erin and that she would speak when she was ready. Erin’s father was not the least bit surprised when Erin’s first word ended up being ‘deadbeat’ since it was a term her mother used a lot when talking to her father.
The fights always went on at home, with mother yelling and even getting to the point where she would throw things. Steven pretty much taking it all and being in a way apathetic to it all, but he always made sure to keep Erin out of the cross fire. Erin went to school along with the other kids in the area, not knowing Japanese at all, but did her best to manage but more often than not struggled with the language barrier, not even doing all that well picking up the language at her young age when it was said to be easier. Erin’s dad did end up losing his usual calm façade when Erin had returned home from school with a report card revealing that she had pretty much failed all of her classes. She was seven years old at the time and in the third grade, having just ‘shut down’ in class and stopped trying. Her mother lost it, fearing Erin was going to be a deadbeat like her father; even if he was the only one in the family making the money, and yelled at Erin. Erin started crying then which just made things worse and when he mother hit her dad stepped in and told Amanda to leave. It was the first and last time Erin actually saw the look of disgust and a hint of anger on her dads face. Amanda tried to fight for custody over Erin, but lost it, and unable to afford the life over in Japan without Steven, she went back to the states.
ADOLESCENCE: With her mother out of the picture, things around the house were a lot calmer, and a whole lot quitter. Steven introduced Erin to playing video games and she fell in love with it all right away. Playing hours on end with her father and even getting pretty good at it for a child so young, but she had a good teacher. Her grades did start to get better with time, but just barley and her father knew that it was not because she was not smart or anything like that. He then started to make deals with Erin that he would by her very own video game system if she started trying in school even if something didn’t seem like it would be useful. Erin agreed and her grades started to see a huge change from barley passing or failing to passing. She started to do well in school and while she still did end up having to repeat a grade, she still did well. Her father kept to buying her video games and even got her very own computer and started to teach her a little bit of what he knew. Erin picking up on these lessons with eases as well and even started trying things on her own.
With her father away at work for a lot of hours, Erin did end up spending a lot of time home alone, but that never really bothered her all that much. She had tons of video games to play as well as online friends to chat and game with. She was very smart and knew to not give any information out to anyone and also to wipe the floor with those who challenged her in video games. Thing will simple and easy, but on what seemed like another day turned out to be the day Erin would get scared for life. An earthquake hit while she was home playing her video games, the aftershocks causing the room to shake, sending things falling off shelves and things tumbling over. It was so loud, things breaking, and the room shaking. Part of the house had even collapsed in, almost trapping Erin, but thankfully she had moved under a table that had been enough to support what had fallen and keeping it from crushing Erin. Her father returned home as soon and was told to go to the hospital where he found Erin overall fine, with a few cuts, scratches, and the mental scaring of the event.
There was also some flooding that was caused, but thankfully that was not in the area that Erin and her father lived. They still had to end up moving into more of an apartment style home that was really more so for one person but they made it work. Erin was 14 years old at the time when her power came in; her father having always figured she would end up one, but never knew at what age to expect it. He was at work at the time either way and while at school the class rep was taking role, and when she called Erin’s name, Erin responded but the class rep apparently didn’t hear her. Calling Erin’s name again and Erin waving her hand and saying she was here, but still nothing and she was marked down as absent. Erin even stood up and tried to get the Sensei’s attention, figuring this was just yet another bullying thing that she had to deal with from time to time. The Sensei didn’t even hear her, didn’t even act like she saw her. Erin figuring that everyone one was in on some kind of joke or that she had become a ghost or something. Freaking out, Erin tossed her desk, causing everyone in the room to jump twice; once because of the desk and the second because Erin just had apparently appeared out of nowhere. Erin didn’t know at all what happened but there were whispers, words that she understood to be hurtful, and on top of that Erin getting in trouble for being late and acting out even with her having been there the whole time.
By the time her father arrived to pick her up and had a chat with the Sensei and then with Erin who told him what had happened, he understood right away. He didn’t even bother waiting for the recruiters to show up and took Erin to the Sainō in Japan, the mutant school. From the age of fourteen years old then Erin started to go to school and learn a little more about and how to control her power. Her father visited when he could and they kept making deals in order for Erin to work at controlling her ability and keeping her grades up. Things were a little better as the mutant school where there were kids who were special like her, but she still ended up spending more time on her video games and computer then with actually friends. Her Japanese got a little better, but just barely and she still preferred to just speak English since it was easier and less effort on her part.
She only ended up joining clubs that involved video games or tech in any way. As her computer skills got better so did her hacking, to the point that her father had to have a serious talk to her about how hacking was bad and that she should only do it for good; not that she fully took the lesson to heart.
ADULTHOOD: It was over the summer break; Erin now being eighteen years old, that her father had gotten a pretty good job proposition that would be back in the states. He was offered a Co-CEO position in a security company, his new job allowing him and Erin to move back to the states as well as pretty much settle down anywhere they wanted. Since her father was making a larger amount of money and was more going to be doing the whole business side of things and traveling was pretty much always going to be by plane. Since Erin was just going to be going into her Junior year of high school; due to having to repeat a grade a few years back, her father decided to get them a very nice apartment in Kailspell. Since her father would be more so always with business trips, he mainly set the place to be to Erin’s likely and gave her the keys, letting her know that this was basically her home for the time while she was a student at BA and that if she wanted to go anywhere else let him now.
They still maintain their deals with one another to keep Erin trying in school, but with the move back to the states and now being able to go to the school her father went to, Erin was feeling a lot more confident about her experience at BA. While on summer break she is mostly unpacking at her place while her dad is off on another business trip, eager to start her Junior year at BA.
