NAME: Ashley Leanne Hale
NICKNAME: Ashe, Lee, Leah.
AGE: 17
GENDER: Female/doesn't care
ORIENTATION: Demi-sexual
POSITION: Student
FACE CLAIM: Ashley Bennet.
POWER:
Name of Power Hydrokinesis
Ashley's power simply put is the ability to control water through telekinesis however, due to her level of control with the power being underdeveloped, she usually has to have an anchor of some kind when using it, something to keep her head clear in the same way that another person might have a habit of singing or smoking when they are trying to work out a problem, these are her arts be that singing, dancing or drawing. The water then follows her commands, a form of hydrokinesis. The power is dependent on her current mental state and emotions, as it is coming from her brain and as such her state can effect the volume of water she's able to keep a grip on. For example if she was upset, she wouldn't be able to control as much and if she was angry it would be much more volatile and precise control would become next to impossible.
Limitations
-Ashley cannot use her power more than 4-5 times a day depending on the duration she is making use of it.
-Ashley cannot use the power for more than 30 minutes or she begins to suffer harmful side effects.
-Ashley has a 15 meter range maximum, however any range above 10 she begins to lose control and above 10 she begins to get a large headache, past 15 she cannot control it and her vision will begin to blur until she either stops trying or faints.
-Ashley can manipulate any kind of water in open air or containers, she can pull it out of the air and concentrate it, but there has to be sufficient moisture in the air for her to pull it out of the air. However, at her currrent level of control it takes about 5 minutes in normal air to pull out about 100ml of water, this becomes much easier in humid weather or if it has been raining of course.
-Ashley can only manipulate about 5 gallons of water at a time as her maximum, and even that puts a physical strain on her, leaving her with throbbing headaches.
-In addition to the range limitation on her ability, Ashley must have direct line of site when she first establishes a connection with a body of water and from there it is as if the body of water is linked to her mind, behaving as she wishes it in a similar way to if a person cannot see something they might not know it was there, but if they were already holding it in their hand, they would know it is there.
Side-Effects
-If Ashley begins to go over the 30 minute time limit her eyesight begins to severely blur and her movements will gradually slow and become more sluggish as she becomes completely exhausted.
-Ashley has to have at least a 2 hour break between using her power after the limit, or she will start to feel very feint, and if she goes over half an hour or tries to use her power within the rest period, she will start to suffer the effects of Severe dehydration and will not be alright again until she has re hydrated herself.
-The dehydration side effects can make any other physical conditions she is in even worse, if she was sick, she would become sicker, ect.
-Headaches from going over any of her limits, or going up to her quantity limit.
-Ashley needs to regularly intake a large amount of water, if she didn't take in the same as is recommended for a normal human in a day, she would begin to dehydrate rapidly and as such her water intake is higher than that of an average person.
APPEARANCE SECTION: Ashley is a relatively slender, fair toned blonde female, with long, fairly straight blonde hair which comes down to her shoulder blades, she has sparkling light blue eyes, she stands at about 5'7" and has relatively flexible and bouncy posture, though she is well aware of 'Proper' posture, she's often a lot more friendly and approachable in body language than rigid.
She generally wears tie-dyed shirts or tops with 'fun designs' most days, although she does also sometimes wear more plain shirts with blue and purple zip up hoodies, almost always opting to wear jeans rather than skirts, but she does occasionally wear dresses (Mostly only on formal occasions)
Ashley also has recently gotten some deep purple highlights into her hair (Much to her parents dismay)
MUST HAVE APPAREL: Ashley is almost always wearing a pendant with a small seashell looped on string, she also has a simple handmade braided bracelet which her mother made for her. She also almost always has a pair of overhead headphones attached to her head.
PERSONALITY SECTION: Ashley is an individual who comes off as extremely full of life, she is always the bouncy energetic girl to suggest going out and having fun, she is by no means your standard party goer however, she spends most of her time drawing, dancing or singing and doesn't really like alcohol based or house parties, she likes to remember what fun she has.
She is endlessly kind hearted and free spirited, not wanting to feel caged or controlled, just wanting to 'go with it' and enjoy life as it comes to her. Although she isn't the most scientifically minded or academic individual she has an uncanny ability to read people and to inspire and cheer them up.
She is also very musically and artistically minded, finding enjoyment in most of each as long as she sees that energy or a person's heart has gone into the work which she is observing or listening to, which includes her own. Luckily she is quite a talented artist and singer, although she doesn't have any talent for writing music herself.
She doesn't like to feel bored, always wanting to be preoccupied with something, which might come as a minor annoyance to some people, and it might come off as adorable to others, but as a result she is also relatively physically fit and enjoys quite a few sports, but isn't overly competitive herself.
EXTRA QUIRK: She is almost always humming, singing, drawing, painting, dancing or some strange combination of the above. Often also allowing her free hand to play with her hair.

CHILDHOOD: Ashley was born to Elizabeth and Christopher Hale, a relatively well off upperclass family living in New York, she instantly had large expectations weighing down upon her, with her mother and father wanting her to either have a huge amount of success in schooling, or if all else failed they could raise her with the proper manors and etiquetteand marry her off to a rich family.
She had a relatively happy early childhood, with a very friendly and carrying babysitter to look after her, who happened to be her mother's niece. She was driven as a kid to find what she enjoyed doing, which happened to be painting, singing and dancing. She took classes for such things in her free time as her parents did not really have time for her, and as a result she spent most of her time with her cousin, who was also effectively her best friend.
As she continued to power through school Ashley began to really enjoy the classes where she got to mess around and draw stuff, or dance or do something hands on, she found herself enjoying them far more than the academic subjects, which began to show on her report cards, much to her parents dismay.
ADOLESCENCE: As she began highschool, Ashley's cousin started taking highschool classes elsewhere and moved away from her family, meaning that Ashley was effectively cut off from her only real and consistent friend, at the same time her parents began to pressure her on the more academic side of things, forcing tutors on her and trying to push up her general grades.
Ashley began to shine in many of the sports and art lessons, achieving near perfect marks, however this was still not enough for her parents who frequently berated her that she could not make a living on 'pointless fun' and that she should be looking towards her future and focusing on her academics.
The girl's mother was almost always busy and away on business trips so most of Ashley's limited time with her parents over the next few years would be spent with her father, however at some point during her freshman year she caught glandular fever and was sick and exhausted for weeks on end, still attempting to do everything she enjoyed, despite being warned to take it easy by teachers and ending up becoming even more sick due to chronic fatigue syndrome and ending up in hospital for a few weeks under observation.
This was the point at which her parents began to make more effort to be nice to her and be real parents than any other time in her memory, with her mother even though not being able to get home to visit, hand making her a bracelet and her cousin visiting her and bringing a pretty seashell necklace which Ashley quickly began to treasure.
A few months after she recovered however, life returned to normal and her parents seemed to become even more strict and enthusiastic than usual about her forcing herself down an academic and business minded route, much to her dismay. It was as if her short illness made them remember she was a person, and then when she was no longer sick they pushed her harder to make up for the break.
Shortly after her 15th birthday, after a long build up of her parents becoming even harsher and her slowly rebelling and pushing back as almost any teenager would, the tensions she felt towards her parents came to a boil. One day when she was at a fake beach parlor with her friends and her mother tried to make her butler bring Ashley home and she flooded the tanks of water soaking the butler through.
Ashley then spent the following week and a half locked in her room, upset and confused, refusing to drink or eat very much. It wasn't long until an academy recruiter showed up and explained things to the family, at first she was aprehensive about the idea, but she didn't really have a choice in the matter and decided she would get to be away from her family and do her own thing so it might not be so bad.
She was then brought to the academy by a recruiter promptly and her life from there seemed to do nothing but improve, her parents left her completely under the care of the academy, trusting that it would help her 'find her way' However she had found nothing but happiness, also discovering that her cousin Nina was also placed here and also had a power. She was ecstatic.
As the next few years progressed she was happier than she had ever been in her life, although it had taken her a couple of months to adjust and get used to not having the constant pressure of her parents expectations baring down apon her, she quickly got into classes instantly making connections with people and getting along swimmingly with her art teachers, showing great promise and lighting up any room of friends she was part of, she was now at Bellefonte academy. She had found her home.
ADULTHOOD: Not happened yet~
SAMPLE: Ashley lay down stomach first by the pool, she had a sketchpad out in front of her leaning on a towel, the sun gently caressing parts of her skin which weren't covered by her multi-coloured, slightly odd bikini. She had headphones covering her head, nodding in time to the music looking a little like a spaz who is trying to sunbathe wearing sunglasses, bang her head to the music and sketch simultaneously.
She was busy drawing angels and demons from some random book she had read. The book gave a vague description of them so she allowed her mind to go rampant, humming while tapping her pencil on the side of the page occasionally sketching out parts of the beautiful creatures.
She felt something warm touch her side, it was a foot... She looked up to see a familiar red-headed girl looking down on her, also wearing a bikini, she mouthed something to the other girl and then laughed, gesturing to take the headphones off. Ashley giggled and popped them down next to her, placing her pen down on her sketchpad.
She rolled over to one side, resting herself on her elbow and grinning at the other girl. "What's up Nina?" The other girl smiled and rolled her eyes. "I thought I Would find you here. Aren't you supposed to be working on your canvas?"
Ashley grinned in response. "I've already finished it. Slowpoke~ You should really keep up with me better, my life just moves so fast~" The 17 year old played with her hair and hummed.
The other girl gave an evil grin. "I should throw you in the pool for that." Ashley laughed and flicked her finger, the water behind Nina responded in kind splashing down the other girls back, receiving a squeal of surprise.
The other girl shook it off quite quickly and then gave Ashley a glare. "Oh. You are soooooo dead." Ashley responded with a giggle and proceeded to run for her life.
