JACKSON, CAMERON, SMITH
SEVENTEEN//MALE//PANSEXUAL//LIQUID MANIPULATION//STUDENT//CHO KYUHYUN
POWER INFO: Liquid Manipulation - Jackson has the ability to control any liquid at will. The type of liquid and its chemical composition will effect how much of it he can control and how effective it will be. The heavier/denser the liquid, or the more complicated its chemical composition, the harder it is to control. Out of all of the liquids he has encountered so far, water has been by far the easiest to manipulate.
He can also create liquid, but only water, and again, this has its limitations (see below). The more he manipulates liquids, the more 'watery' he feels, in a sense. As in, he has a weaker grasp on reality. This is usually solved by drinking lots and distracting himself, but he has yet to push the limits of this side effect. When he produces water, it only comes from his hands, dripping off like large beads of sweat.
Limitations:
- He can only produce a small amount of water, at the very most up to a litre. When he does, he has to replace the same amount of water into his body soon after, plus another half of whatever he produced (for example, if he made 10ml of water, he would have to drink 15ml of water to avoid any side effects). The side effects, if the water isn't replaced, vary. For miniscule amounts, his skin and mouth will fell drier. The effects worsen depending on how much water he has lost, the worst coming out at his skin becoming flaky and dry, a migraine and the possibility of fainting, along with a very dry mouth and a desperate need to drink something.
- It is possible for Jackson to dehydrate himself on purpose, if he thought it was necessary. This does not mean he can commit suicide, but he could put himself in harm's way. He will faint before his condition gets too serious - his body's natural way of keeping him alive.
- If he is nervous or upset, it becomes harder for him to control his water production and his hands will usually excrete water. If he is angry, however, his manipulation is more effected. His mind will automatically connect his movements with the closest liquid source.
- He can't control liquids through any solid thicker than 5cm, and can't control liquids more than 40m away from him.
- He cannot control blood or any bodily fluids. Therefore, he cannot take essential liquids out of any living thing, and he cannot control a person using the liquids in their system.
GENERAL APPEARANCE: Jackson has a pretty short height for someone his age, 5'8", but he doesn't mind too much. It makes him less obvious, after all. He's a little thinner than he should be, really, but he's healthy. Kind of a side effect from using his power too often, it does take a bit of a toll on his body. He has a very 'boy-next-door' look about him, with a cute dimpled face and round chocolate brown eyes like glass. He has slightly crooked teeth which aid the cheeky smile that appears onto his visage on a regular basis. He has a mop of scruffy blond hair which never goes shorter than just above his ears, and is never longer than his dimples. His skin is pretty pale and he has lips that any girl would die for. So he isn't exactly proud of them, but they do dry out quite regularly anyway thanks to his ability.
MUST HAVE APPAREL: Depends on the time of day, time of year and time of the month, really. His clothes are usually reminiscient of his mood; when he's annoyed, they'll be darker, and sharper. Like, he'll wear collared shirts and sensible shoes. Generally though, he wears jeans (actually, he always wears jeans), Converse or sneakers of some sort and a statement tee with a funny quote or picture. He's not exactly focusing his life on how he dresses. He does care about his appearance but y'know... not that much.
PERSONALITY: Jackson is two different people. On the outside, he's loud, talkative and full of laughter - a bit on the cheeky and rude side but generally well meaning and a barrel of fun. He's definitely not afraid, however, of getting detention if he'll be chuckling on the way there. He's bright and, although not the strongest in the brain department, he does have a knack for sharp comebacks and has knowledge of many silly little facts.
But that isn't really him. The boy that everyone sees is not a true representation of the person that lies within. He's an introvert, and although he loves his friends with all of his heart, he wishes he could have more time to be... alone. But he's afraid of being alone, because he feels disattached. He stays around so many other people to stay alive, to feel like part of a company. If you're sneaky enough, you might catch him watching a nerdy film, reading a good book, or singing. He loves to sing, even though that fact alone makes him feel like he's been pulled right out of a cheesy musical. He's not the type to burst into song randomly (who is?), but he likes good musicals with a strong storyline, and will hum or sing under his breath if he thinks no-one's around to hear.
EXTRA QUIRK: Jackson spent his elementary school days being called by his middle name, Cameron. He intended to continue to do so for much longer, but when he was brought to Bellefonte, he felt like this new chapter in his life was a chance for a new beginning, and now goes by Jackson or Jack (but still responds to the names Cameron and Cam, even 5 years later.)
Also, Jackson has a stash of Pokemon plushies at home. His favourite is Sentret, don't ask why.

Jackson was born on July 18th and raised in good old Kailspell itself. Most of his family live in or around the area, mainly because... well, they're all powered. He grew up alongside his cousin and best-friend, Ryan, thanks to the fact that his father, Reginald, and his uncle, Joseph, were very close, and still are to this day. In fact, the two families live next door to each other. His childhood was a fairly happy one, but he didn't talk to a lot of people. Norma, his mother, understood the introversion that her son was showing, but Reginald grew concerned. Why was his son so cut off from the world? He encouraged the boy continuously to make many friends, and go out, and be sociable, but Jackson didn't want that. He wanted to sit inside and watch Pokemon, or go to the park to read a book or look at the trees. Having lots of friends wasn't important to the young boy.
But his father made it important. Reginald was glad to see how close Ryan and Jackson were, and if anything, that egged him on to make Jackson talk to others. Norma... couldn't do much. He wasn't being abusive, he just wanted the best for his son, as did she, but... this wasn't the right way of doing it. She just hoped her husband would eventually let Jack do his own thing. As the boy entered his school years, he learned his lessons well, with a pretty average understanding of everything he knew. He wasn't top of his class, but he worked well and got good grades; his family was proud. Reginald still held his concern, but kept it to himself. Jackson grew an interest for singing, hearing people on the radio with these amazing voices was intriguing. His family was quite musically involved, his uncle being a music teacher at Bellefonte. Also, Ryan was able to play the guitar, and was starting to learn to play the ukulele, so Jackson wanted to join in, somehow. He never learned to play an instrument, all the strings and keys were confusing. He just stuck to singing, something he knew how to do, even if it was a little raw and rough at first.
Jack got his pet tortoise when he was 6. Jub-Jub, although slow and simple, means a lot to him. He talks to him sometimes when he's upset or confused, and the little shelled creature stays with him in his room. He doesn't have a dorm at Bellefonte, seeing as he lives so nearby.
Jackson liked his sisters, kind of. They could be creepy at times, and loud, and silly, and annoying, and attention hogging, but they were adorable and the siblings cared for each other quite a lot. He would stick up from them when they needed it, and they made him laugh when he was upset. Even with their flaws, Petal and Harriet are dear to Jack's heart. He likes to sing with them from time to time, in all seriousness and just mucking around. He likes to think they look up to him, in a sense.
When his power manifested, it changed quite a few things for the boy. He began to feel... detached from reality. Like his existence was as weak as a bubble. It was difficult to comprehend for someone of such a little age, only 12 years old. It scared him, and made him even more cautious of others. He stopped talking to anyone and everyone, even Ryan. Now all of his family was worried for him, they knew what this possibly meant, but to see a little boy tormented in this way was hard to bear for everyone. The actual power showed itself a few days later. With the stress of everything he was going through, Jackson still tried to continue as normal. So, he was sat in class one day when... his hands leaked water. Although grossed out by his assumption, he just thought he was sweating a bit. Until he had a puddle of water on his desk and the floor around it. He became more and more frightened, and when the teacher asked if he was alright, he jumped a little and her cup of coffee fell over. Across the other side of the room. He wanted to run away, terrified, but... he felt glued to his seat.
A short while later, he was in the principle's office. He explained what had happened, and why. Jackson had been expecting something, but he had no idea what. When it had happened, the shock overtook his ability to see any reason or rhyme to what had happened. He was told he would be transferred to Bellefonte, and he didn't take the news with much amazement. His whole family had powers, it was going to happen at some point.
When Jackson arrived at Bellefonte, it felt pretty different to his normal school. He felt like he could be himself now, completely and fully, but... the opposite happened. Being alone made him feel too separate. It was difficult for him to compute. So, he developed a coping mechanism, one that brought quite a bit of joy to his father. He began being more outgoing, extroverted and friendly. He made multiple friends and often mucked around in lessons (seeing as he wasn't failing any of them anyway), so he got a few detentions here and there. His mother wasn't exactly impressed, and all of his family noticed the change, particularly Ryan. His cousin is the only one the boy will honestly confide in any more. He continues to put up his happy front, while fighting his demons within. All he really wants from life right now is to feel content with who he is, and that will be difficult to attain unless he works hard. But who knows?

SAMPLE: For once, the weather was half decent. Maybe it was gonna gradually start to improve? Gryphon hoped so, it was difficult to practise when your muscles froze up every two seconds and you're afraid that you'll fall and break something (which was all too easy to do in his case).
Since today was much nicer (and he had a lot to mull over), Gryph went to the rooftops, looking over Bellefonte. Wearing a shirt with slits cut in the back (it was better than having no top, even if it did restrict his movement slightly), he waited for the wind to be in his favour, and when it was, he ran and jumped, spreading out his feathers to glide around before putting any effort into it.
Gryph looked down on his school. He wondered if anyone was watching him, if anyone could see him. He wouldn't mind if they could, of course. But he wished he could go further, it was difficult to just stay on Bellefonte grounds when you just wanted to fly and let the wind take you... but it was a desire he had to restrain.
He looked down on the training fields and saw a flicker of something in the shadows. His mind went to it being some Shadow Manipulator, but he caught sight of a few feathers and became interested. Gryph glided gently down, going from horizontal to vertical so he could land on his feet. In front of him stood -well, hovered- a girl, possibly one of the newer students. She seemed to be concentrating pretty hard... one of the next things he noticed was that there was a bird with her... laughing at her, definitely laughing at her. Cheeky bastard bird, learning to fly was damn hard! He would be polite though, because he felt some urge to help the girl, and not insult the bird nearby (pecking really hurt, he would know).
"[Afternoon.]" He tweeted it out in the bird's language, before turning to the girl, "You alright?"
