Evan bit his lower lip sheepishly when Tim responded. "She's not...out to get you. I promise." He tried to reassure the bat mimic. "I think she already got flack from other people and then you mentioned it and then now DL is out to get her too. It just...everything crashed down on her all at once and she's...upset."
To put it lightly.
Evan rubbed the back of his neck and shook his head. "If she does then let her. And besides, she just wants an apology. She can't go to DL for that because who knows who that person is. But she knows you. Well, your vlog anyway. And I think it's more of the fact that you weren't anonymous. And you mentioning her name in public...I don't know. All I know is she's upset and it would make things better for her and possibly for you if there's an apology somewhere, ya know?"

Tim started protesting, mostly with just random syllables, as Evan insisted that Charlie wasn't out to get him. Certainly felt that way. Also felt like Tim was going to end up having to hide from the crazed girl for a while. Plus, didn't she have some kind of strange ability involving time? Seriously, why couldn't he get cool powers like that? instead he got bat manipulation, which really felt like Fate just picked something random out of a hat and went "you, Tim, you shall have this one for no apparent reason."
"Dude, upset's putting it lightly," mumbled Tim. He was tempted to point out that his blog had been locked because of the crap with Charlie and now he couldn't even do what he'd been planning all along: go against Dirty Laundry. he was tempted to start another blog, maybe just spread it out or try code names or something. Worked for Dl. He sighed and reached up, removing his glasses and rubbing at his nose.
"That's not--" he began, sighing. He really should just lie to Evan. Say that he'd apologize to Charlie and get it over with. Don't want to ruin the movie or anything. Tim tapped his glasses against his thigh for a few moments. "I still don't know what the hell I really did. Seriously, I was just, like, pointing out that it's good that she's back and I'm happy for her. She's the one who jumped down my throat. And I did apologize, but fine, whatever," Tim sighed, putting his glasses back on. "Maybe I can write her an email or something," because he didn't relish the idea of going face to face with someone he was pretty sure would have no issue kicking him in the family jewels.
Opening his mouth to argue Tim's correction, he knew Tim was right. Charlie's feelings towards this debacle was pretty strong.
He felt exceptionally bad when Tim looked like he was struggling to keep his cool. Evan didn't like confrontations of any kind. This is why he always tried to keep things pleasant. But it was proving difficult the past weeks.
The upheaval he had gone through what with SPECTRE and Charlie coming back and graduation, things were going way too fast for his liking. Emotions ran high and he was starting to get feelings he never thought he would feel.
It was all just such a mess.
"She probably just got mad that anyone is talking about her at all. She likes to keep a low profile so any mention is not good." Evan tried to explain, even though he wasn't entirely sure he was doing the right thing. Tim's suggestion had Evan nodding slowly. "Yeah that'd...that'd be cool."
Giving Tim a sheepish grin, raising his can up to him, Evan sighed. "I'm sorry if I've ruined the atmosphere. I wanted to get it out of the way. I'll understand if you don't want to stay for the movie or you want me to go. But I'd really like to stay."

Tim could understand some people wanting to let things be, he guessed. With the world the way it was though, privacy was becoming more and more a thing of the past. wasn't like it had really existed all that much in ye olden days anyway; people always knew what was going on with their neighbor in the next hut or whatever. Tim supposed that didn't justify his abusing someone else's privacy though.
At least Evan seemed okay with Tim's suggestion. Tim had a feeling that Charlie wouldn't be nearly as forgiving. He also had a feeling that he wasn't going to even go so far as sending an email. Heck, judging by the thunder that had been brought down, he wasn't sure he was supposed to contact her at all.
Tim chuckled at Evan's next bit though, reaching over to lightly push the guy. "you damn well better be sorry. But nah, man, you don't gotta go or anything. It'd be totally lame if I ended up sitting here by myself. That mom over there's been giving me the stank eye for a while anyway," he nodded toward a mom waiting a few spots down with children. she obviously didn't want to be there, and she obviously didn't like that she hadn't been at the front of the line. Tim just made an easy target.
"Plus, we can't, like, hold the sins of the girls against us or anything. You know, bros before ho--honest women? There really should be a cooler way of saying that," because Tim didn't want to call charlie a "ho," let alone Lux.
Evan was just glad the guy hadn't kicked him to the kerb for even suggesting that he make the first move and apologise. He was confident that Tim would at least try to reconcile. Whether he actually did or not was probably a story for another day.
Being playfully pushed had Evan sigh with relief, glad the other guy wasn't done with him. His eyes travelled over to where Tim was gesturing to and waved sheepishly at the mother who looked away to tend to the kids.
"Yikes," he said, wincing at Tim. He agreed with Tim's sentiment, laughing at his trying to change the adage. "Let's never say that ever again." He chuckled. "Okay, I'm pumped for this movie, okay?" He turned to look at Tim with a wide smile.

Tim nodded at the wincing. "Yeah, I actually felt sorry for her for, like, the first half an hour or so. She's one of those mega grump moms though. You have been warned, and yeah, definitely never, ever say that again. Especially not anywhere near where the girls could hear. Because, like, charlie would probably kill us both. Or just me, blaming me for---no, no, I'm gonna stop talking there."
Tim nodded and rapped his knuckles on the cooler before turning. "Though really, talking about hos when sitting for a Michael Bay movie, kinda ironic, right? Right? Eh?" Tim leaned in then, giving Evan a few nudges. There, move the topic back to the movies. Talk about them for a little bit. And all their explosions and big boobs, err, big booms and everything.
Evan snorted at Tim's description of the mother but he didn't dare look back again. That death stare had been uncomfortable. When Tim started veering towards the mess again, Evan was actually prepared to hear it but Tim stopped, leaving Evan to breathe a sigh of relief. He was caught in such a miserable position. He wanted to be angry at both sides for not talking to each other but he also wanted to coddle each side so they're not upset anymore. It was all just very, very confusing.
The irony was something Evan didn't quite understand but for propriety's sake, he laughed and nodded, though his laugh was a little hesitant. It was the best he could muster since he really didn't know what Tim was talking about.
The rest of the time was filled with idle chatter ranging from books to games to other movies and then back to Transformers and before they knew it, it was midnight. "Oh man, this is gonna be great!" Evan tugged his beanie down and grinned widely at Tim, squeezing the other boy's arm in excitement.

It felt good to just hang out and shoot the shit with Evan. Yeah, the guy had a weird appreciation for Michael Bay, but Tim didn't hold that against him. Explosions, transforming robots, hot girls, yeah, Tim could definitely see the appeal. He also worked to explain his own semi-ironic attachment to the franchise. All this between handfuls of cheetoes and downed Mountain Dews, of course.
"Heck yeah!" said Tim, pumping an arm and hopping up to his feet. he had to gather his things, but it wasn't like they'd have to worry about seating. Despite it being a premiere in a college town, there weren't that many people there. The two of them could take a few seats for their stuff and still be fine.
"Oh, right, tickets," said Tim, pulling out his phone. He hummed a bit as he flicked screens, eventually nodding and showing Evan. "Hope you don't mind that I bought yours at the same time. Didn't know if we'd have to fight dozens of moms or whatever. So we're good. You can just pay me back later."
Tim nodded, then walked forward, approaching the ticket booth and all. He raised up the phone, waving it almost in a Jedi like pass, producing real tickets that would get them further in, to actually enjoy the movie for what it was (and for different reasons... mostly).
Despite the rocky, awkward situation Evan had put them in earlier, it was turning out to be a good night. Tim was an easy guy to hang out with, despite his predilection towards irony that Evan finally understood after his explanation. Didn't mean he agreed with it obviously but he wasn't going to let it ruin his own enthusiasm for action and...well girls, admittedly.
Hearing that Tim had gone and bought their tickets for them had Evan smiling and nodding. He fished out a couple of notes from his pocket and handed it over to Tim. "Thanks man. Totally don't mind." He shook his head as they walked in and grabbed their seats.
"Oh wait should we get popcorn? I feel like we should." Evan nodded as he settled in, letting his things scatter.

Tim carried his stuff in toward the theater proper, locating the best possible seats which, as everyone knew, were in the back of the theater. Okay, yeah, the front got the totally awesome overwhelming feeling, and the middle got the best view and was pretty much perfection for actually watching the movie. But if you wanted people watching and space, which Tim wanted so very, very much of. Plus, they could arrange their stuff here, getting it all set up and junk.
"Hmm, tempting," said Tim, twisting to look back. "We've still got some time before the movie. They were totally cool with our bringing in the cooler though," mostly because Tim had protested, loudly, though that was before Evan had gotten there. He twisted again. "If we're getting some, we'd better get going. Someone's gotta guard the stuff."
He gave Evan a look that clearly said who should be getting up and going, what with Tim having bought the tickets and all. Only fair. "We should probably get a couple of sodas too. And I mean a couple: we aren't making out at the sexy parts or something." Tim still hadn't done that, at least, not yet. He was pretty sure he couldn't convince Lux to ever do something like that. Maybe he'd get lucky and end up with someone else?
"Great, great." He nodded, already getting up and grabbing his wallet from his bag. Of course he was the one going.
"We should we should. Mountain Dew sound good?" Evan chuckled before running down to find the concession stand.
He made quick work of getting as much as his hands could carry and lugged them back to their seat, making Tim grab most of what was in his hand.
"Also, you'd be lucky if I made out with you during the sexy parts." He joked. "Okay, I know this is dumb but I actually like to watch the previews." Evan was already digging into one of the two tubs of popcorn he had gotten and settled into his seat.
He was so engrossed in them that he basically ignored Tim and soon enough, when the movie started, he was nudging Tim and interacting with him as explosions came on screen. It was definitely a graphics heaven for Evan, even if the plot was below even subpar. All in all, enjoyable time with great company. He couldn't complain.

"What else would we get?" asked Tim, looking almost offended. They'd plowed through a fair amount of the Mountain Dew he'd brought already, and there was something to getting big ass fountain drinks that was just inherent to the whole movie-going experience. Besides, everyone knew that theaters got most of their money from concessions or something.
Tim waved Evan off, settling into his seat, even rearranging the stuff. Evan would be back in practically record time, with Tim twisting to grab stuff and help get everything settled. Two tubs of popcorn and everything. "Okay, we could've actually split a giant tub, you know," said Tim, adjusting things soon enough. He nodded, accepting that Evan was one of those who liked previews.
The movie started though, and Tim had to mutter commentary under his breath. At a few points, the muttering turned into shouting loud critiques. He actually got shushed once, which nearly made him go over the seat and tell someone else to shush. Hey, he had to have gotten something from his people, and clearly that happened to be theater going. He settled in though, mostly enjoying it for what it was: a horrible, god-awful, Michael Bay mess. Tim was pretty sure this was even worse than the first three, even with the dinosaurs.
"Well, that was spectacular," was Tim's final judgment. He pushed up on his glasses, swearing that he never looked or felt so hipster then he did at that moment, and he was totally okay with that. He set his empty popcorn container down on the ground, dusting himself off while gathering stuff up. He nodded. "I'm thinking that i'm gonna need at least a few hours of video games to come down from that. You up for it, or you gonna hit the sack?"
Evan couldn't help but laugh at Tim's response as he rushed off to the concession stand. His return brought another comment from Tim to which Evan rolled his eyes at. "No we couldn't. My popcorn." He said possessively as he turned away from Tim holding his own tub of popcorn, chuckling away as he watched the previews.
Tim's yelling caused a few titters from Evan, clearly amused at how his friend was reacting to the movie. Clearly the guy 'enjoyed' Michael Bay movies.
When the movie finally ended Evan was still munching on his popcorn, very awake. "Uh...sleep? After that? No way." He shook his head. "I'm probably going to start liking everything to do with Transformers on Tumblr." He shrugged, like it was supposed to be obvious.
He got up and slung his bag over his shoulder and walked out of the cinema still with his tub of popcorn. They walked past the mom who now just looked very tired as she ushered the two boy who were jumping about, reciting some choice lines from the movie.
He felt like thanking Tim for inviting him sounded very much like they were on a date so he kept to himself mostly as they walked back to school. "Hey, catch up with you later yeah?" He waved off his friend and they parted ways. Time for some Tumblr.
