TRACKING
Parker has the ability to locate another person or object anywhere they/it might be by tapping into the psychic residue everyone and everything leaves behind.
Imagine that you're looking for a person or have lost an object, Parker will be able to find what you're looking for. He's not entirely sure how it works himself, but imagine a key finder; You push a button that sends a signal to your keys, and the beep gets louder the closer you get. It sort of works the same way for Parker, but instead of hearing beeps, he can feel whenever the object and/or person is closer.
LIMITATIONS
- If tracking a person, Parker needs to know their name and their basic appearance (Seeing a photo will do), or touch something that belongs to the person he's trying to find.
- He cannot track himself though, and thus doesn't always know where he's located.
- The further away the object or person is, the harder it will be for Parker to find it, and the weaker the 'signal' will be. Also, with tracking being such an obsessive compulsive kind of power, he will in the end, find it.
- Objects or non-moving people are easier to find, seeing as how they stay in one place for a longer amount of time. If moving, it may mess with the signals, which can send him to the wrong place before being able to 'sense' the new signal from the new location.
- He needs a basic description of the object he's looking for in order to find it. If someone tells him to look for a pencil, and doesn't give any other information about it, he'll locate just about any pencil.
SIDE-EFFECTS
- Headaches that can develop into migraines.
- Fatigue
- If overusing his ability, Parker can become disorientated.
- His ability can often send him into occasional fits of paranoia.
- OCD - Once his mind has set on finding something, he has a hard time not giving in to the urge of keep looking.A camera is turned on and the footage is obviously taken from a phone. The camera sweeps over a classroom filled with students before it finally stops at a young male with brown, curly hair and big, brown puppy-like eyes. The boy turns his head, smiles and then waves, "What are you doing?" the boy laughs and rubs the back of his neck awkwardly. A girl's laughter is heard behind the camera, "Tell me about yourself, Mr. James!" the girl says. The boy shakes his head before lifting his hand to cover the camera, but apparently the girl isn't giving up. Finally, the boy sighs and smiles at the camera with a lopsided grin, "Uhm... Hi, I'm Parker," he laughs awkwardly, "I'm nineteen years old and I uh... I attend Bellefonte Academy, and have been doing that for the past..." He lifts his hands to count on his fingers, "Eight years. I was eleven," he says with the same lopsided grin as before. "I came here from uh, Pennsylvania. Both my parents attended this school too," he adds and looks away. The camera is pulled aside and is shut off.The camera flicks back on, and the girl holding it and Parker is now walking down the hallway. The 5'10 ft tall boy turns his head to look at the camera once more and laughs, shaking his head before spreading his arms to the sides, "What more do you want from me?" he laughs again, "Tell me more," the girl asks. "Like what?" Parker asks right back. "Have you ever had a girlfriend? What's your life like here? What do you do for fun? Stuff like that," she says and chuckles. There's a hint of a faint blush on the brown haired boy's cheeks, but he shakes his head, "I've never had a girlfriend no. I'm uh, I don't think they like the geeky-jock type very much," he says and smiles, "I spend a lot of time playing football and hang out with my friends. I play a lot of games too, so I guess I can excuse myself and say that I don't have the time for a girl- Yeah, okay, that's lame, is it not?" Parker says and looks away, rubbing the back of his neck. "I love it here," he says after a few seconds, "I feel like... I fit in, you know? It's nice to have a place to call home. And even though I'm usually pretty shy and don't go out of my way to-- Hey! Don't laugh!" Parker covers the camera and it shuts off.Moments later, the camera is turned back on and is once more directed towards the boy. He's now leaned against the lockers with both his arms folded over his chest, "I can be pretty quiet until you get to know me. I'm not shy, per say, just... Uncomfortable I suppose. It depends on where you meet me; Like, if it's very casual, I can be pretty cool, right? And if it's like on a date, I'll be super nervous," he laughs. "But when I'm with someone I'm friends with, I can be really loud and fool around," he adds with a smile. "I'm your typical high school student-- who just happens to be really... Uh.. I don't know," he laughs again. The camera shuts off. When the camera is turned back on, the pair is sitting inside someone's bedroom. Parker is sitting on the edge of the bed with a football in his hands. "My relationship to my parents are great. They are great. They weren't really strict with me when I grew up. I also have a half sister and a brother. They are pretty cool too," Parker says and leans back against the wall. "We didn't have a lot of money or anything, but that was okay; We got by and that was what mattered. We were happy." The camera shifts and starts moving around the room; There's clothes all over the room and an open laptop showing a questionable website, "Uh, Park..." the girl says, and there's sounds of movement in the background before Parker moves to close the lid of the laptop, "Uh.." he says and his cheeks grows redder quickly, "Who is she?" the girl asks curiously, "Uh, no one... No one special," he coughs. "Wait! Is that the girl you have a crush on?" the girl asks and stands up. Looking away, the brown eyed boy starts moving towards the door and the camera is shut off.The camera sweeps over the cafeteria before stopping at Parker sitting right next to the chair of the camera holder, "Oh come on," he laughs, "Don't you have anything better to do?" Parker says and leans forward, his eyes fixed on something in the distance; A girl sitting on another table. He then sighs and averts his eyes, "Are you going to tell her?" the girl behind the camera asks. Parker shakes his head, "Nah, a girl like that doesn't date a boy like me." But before he gives the girl a chance to protest, Parker turns towards the camera again. A plastered and obviously faked smile is forced upon his lips, "Besides, now that school is ending and summer is right around the corner... I'll be graduating after the summer; I hope... My grades aren't exactly... Anyways! I won't see her in a long time, and a lot can happen, you know?" he says and sighs, "I've waited too long. I lost my chance." The camera is lowered and turned off. This time when the camera is turned back on, Parker himself is holding it, "Hey there! I don't know why my friend has been doing this, but I figured I'd end it on a more cheerful tone than... Well, I'm not really like that. Not always anyways! I'm a pretty happy and energetic guy. I love to have fun, and I know I can be a little childish and reckless, but what nineteen year old isn't?" Parker smiles and sits down. "Now that school is ending, I'm gonna be spending a lot of time out on the training field, playing football. And camping. I love camping. And uh, oh yeah, video games! And then... Probably go to the bea- oh wait, Montana isn't next to the ocean.... Hey, I'm over eight- Nevermind. I'm rambling," he laughs nervously, "You know," he begins and looks away, "I'm not always this.. Insecure. It's just around girls and I- well, not all girls. Just the ones I like and--" He shakes his head and sighs. "Whatever." The camera is shut off. When the camera is turned back on, it's directed towards the field where a group of boys are running after a football. "Ladies and gentlemen; Parker James! Isn't he cool?" She laughs at this and turns the camera towards herself. "He's not as lame as he makes you all think. He's a really great guy with a big heart. He has issues expressing himself, just like so many other teenage boys do. His heart is in the right place, but his head isn't. He's also very loyal, but can get easily side-tracked and is sort of a pushover, you know? He wants everyone to be happy and more often than not, he forgets to make himself happy. He has a lot of friends and he's very welcoming and friendly, even if he goofs off a lot and tends to like take nothing seriously. He can be shy too and very quiet. Especially around pretty girls. Said every teenage boy ever, right?" The girl laughs again. "He's... He's gonna do great things one day; Or, I hope he will. I really, really hope he doesn't end up being someone's doormat, but I can see that happening. I'm looking out for him, and I've known him for a really long time. Parker-- He's..." she sighs and turns the camera around. "He's a moron." The camera is turned off.
