ABEL JAMES BELLEFONTE
20//MALE//PANSEXUAL//POWER//STUDENT//DREW ROY
POWER MAGNIFICATION/MEDIUM
In terms of his own power, Abel is relatively useless on his own. He can't do anything. Nothing. Zilch.
What Abel's power gives him is the ability to magnify the powers of others. He has an incredible amount of energy. He can feed his strength and his own power into another person, imbuing them with everything that he is willing to share, and making the individual's own power much stronger.
Abel can only channel his energy into someone else when they are in a close proximity. While the person involved will feel no side effects, Abel will have to deal with the power's backlash and take on the physical tire of both using his own ability, as well as interacting with his 'partners'. In fact once the connection is over, his partner would not feel any side effects or any tire at all, as a medium all of this goes to Abel. A great deal of the time he will end up fainting, or coming close to it.
He also has the potential to decrease or suppress the powers of others for a short time, causing them to be less powerful, less effective, or altogether more difficult or draining for that person to use. Again, the use of the energy will backlash on to Abel.
When Abel wakes it is not uncommon for him to have suffered some amount of memory loss or haziness about events during and after the time in which he used his power.
As a result of the dramatic affect it has on him, Abel rarely uses his abilities.
Abel is tall; not only that, he's actually rather defined in terms of muscle from the various sports he participates in. His skin is naturally a shade of pale olive, similar to his siblings, and remarkably smooth and clear. His hair was cut short as a youngster in an attempt to coax it to lay flat. However all it did was make his hair stand straight up, and liking the difference Abel kept it and has worn his hair short and spiked ever since. Apart from the hair on his head, he is disappointed to admit that he is lacking in the ability to sprout facial hair anywhere else. As well as his lack of what he calls 'manly-stubble', Abel is relatively hair-free everywhere else on his body.
(He actually finds this quite disappointing)
Abe dresses for comfort and usually gives little thought as to how he actually appears to others. Frequenting singlet tops, tracksuits, loose jeans or basically anything else that he defines as 'comfortable'. He has very little fashion sense and will mix-and-match the worst possible combinations with no moral conflictions' whatsoever.
Abel is a big brother, and not just to his family. It is in his very nature to extend a hand to anyone in need, and derives pleasure in giving aid or helping others. Even strangers and enemies cannot escape his determination, if he wants to help you, he is going to do it, regardless of that individual's actual feelings on the matter. He is incredibly stubborn in this manner, and once he has an idea, he will become single-mindedly focused on achieving whatever goal he has set.
He can be naive and is blindly trusting, lacking the ability to be skeptical or see darkness in others. He loves to love and will never doubt anyone unless proof is given. He is however a logical thinker, and while he will not make judgments without first-hand evidence, once a judgement is made he is set on it. He loves puzzles and has a secret love of conspiracy theories, and despite his somewhat 'airy-fairy' disposition, is actually quite smart.
Abel is incredibly protective, and there are few selfish aspects about him. If there is a mean word or action angled towards him, most of the time he'll just be able to laugh and shake it off. But if it is instead a friend (and sometimes not even that) being targeted, most of the time Abel will simply jump in front of the fire and protect them. His blind loyalty and very strict moral-alignment means that he will always try to do what is best for everyone, and most of the time it is he that suffers the backlash of this. Not that he ever notices.

Born into the Bellefonte line, the founders of the academy, Abel was of course expected to achieve quite a few things. Even more so because he was the oldest in the line. From a young age he was subject to a rigorous schedule of tutors, sports and crafts of all kinds. They were designed with two objectives, the first to mold him into a 'hopeful' heir of the Bellefonte Academy, the second in an attempt to also uncover his mutant power. (As he 'undoubtedly' had one. Though clearly it wouldn't be showing itself that early.)
Somewhere along the line he was informed that he would be having another sibling joining him soon. Abel, like any future big brother, was incredibly excited by this development. Now imagine his surprised when instead of one siblings, he was granted two little girls.
Soon after, another baby arrived, also girl, and Abel began to feel slightly overwhelmed. But he loved them all.
Over the years and as he aged and became a member of the academy, the number of activities dwindled and became more focused to Abel's skills and desires. He continued with his tutors and took up reading, finding he enjoyed puzzles and mind games. Track and basketball were his sports, while he also enjoyed chess games and was a part of student committee.
His power was a late bloomer and as his sisters went on to discover their own, the belief grew that Abel didn't have a power at all. Soon he began to believe this himself, he put little effort into his training. Surprisingly, if it hadn't been from the pressure behind his family Abel wouldn't have minded not being a mutant. He had no desire to be 'special', he desired a normal life. Not normal in the sense of 'human', but rather, he wanted to escape the heavy weight that being connected to the academy in such a way gave to him.
One day Abel was witness to an accident on the school grounds during power training. One girl with healing powers attempted to help the wounded, but it was quite clear her power wasn't going to be enough to heal the wound. Acting on instinct Abe approached and placed his hands atop those of the healing girl, channeling his own energy into her, and through her, the wounded student. The healing rate increased exponentially and within a few moments the wound was healed, and while both girls seemed fine -if a little startled- Abel found himself swaying, and then collapsed. He awoke a few hours later in the infirmary with little memory of what had actually happened.
Ever since, with slight fear of his power, Abel has been avoiding using it or basically even acknowledging it's existence.
