Dir. Edward Ridgeway was born into a wealthy, aristocratic family during the lat 1960's. From an early age trouble and violence seemed to follow everywhere he went. When he was eight his infant sister suffered from a mysterious case of SIDS while in her crib. At eleven, one of the Ridgeway's nannies took a terrible tumble down a flight of stairs while babysitting the boy and was killed. When he was sixteen his family's mansion in Essex, England burned to the ground leaving Edward as the sole surviving heir to a fortune. Authorities were baffled when they found the home's fire alarm system had not been activated.

Upon losing his family, Edward immersed himself in his studies. After the fire Edward seemed to rededicate himself to academic pursuits before enlisting in the British Army at 18 years old. The young recruit quickly found himself moving up the chain as his shrewd, no-nonsense approach turned heads and his natural intellect made him a perfect candidate for the military intelligence field. During the early days of the Global War on Terror Edward found himself on loan to such US agencies as the CIA and the Department of Homeland Security. His brutal efficiency as a leader, tactician and interrogator caught the attention of the director of the SPECTIRE Initiative and was subsequently offered a position as a deputy director.

Edward Ridgeway is a quiet, often unassuming individual who, while understated in physical stature and appearance, exudes a cold, calculating aura. After meeting with Edward, even direct subordinates come away feeling threatened and uncomfortable. Upon learning of SPECTRE's true mission, Edward grew to despise mutants and regards them as a blemish on the history of mankind. His abusive and sadistic tendencies have lent themselves well to the shady, underhanded dealings of the initial SPECTRE push. As a deputy director he's charged with overseeing the regional operations of an element. As the top field agent within SPECTRE he was assigned to command the Kalispell area and the nearby Bellefonte Academy.
