Guy noticed the panic, read it even through a dog's body language. Panic was panic was panic, after all. Yet he thought it might have something to do with Andrew sliding back to form, or possibly feeling like he couldn't shift back, which would be equally terrifying. Guy was surprised, however, to see the intelligence dim out of the dog's eyes. He stared for a few moments, holding his focus, noticing the very obvious mental shift, a dangerous mental shift. As soon as Guy noticed, he released entirely, hoping that Andrew's human mind overwhelmed the dog and slid right back into the driver's seat.
This seemed to be the case, and Guy had to hide the sigh of relief he could feel building up. His students didn't need to know that he could possibly make a mistake. So far he'd done quite well in hiding that from the vast majority of them. True, there were one or two that realized that their trainer was, in fact, human, if a short, mutant one, but overall, Guy liked to think that his aura of authority remained unchecked.
Didn't mean he shouldn't explain the situation. "I suppress powers,' he said, speaking clearly and slowly, wanting to give Andrew's mind something to latch onto, fight back against that panic. "Usually that means that people just can't do whatever it is that they do. Only one person at a time, and it takes my focus to push back against your ability. I'm guessing that's what happened with you: my ability temporarily suppressing your human side. Bit odd though; not a usual reaction," not one that Guy had ever seen before, in truth, but again, not something he wanted Andrew to know. He pulled out his phone, his fingers flying to enter data on it. he kept his attentions on Andrew too though, wanting to see how the young man handled everything. Guy didn't want to issue orders or anything, not yet, not until he was certain his student's mind was his own.
