I'm Not Dead

Devyn didn’t really mean it in a sexual way, at least she did not intend for it to be, she really wanted to know. Was Zoe the type to like taking care of people or was it just because Devyn was her girlfriend. Pretty much Devyn wanted to understand the level of how special she was to Zoe. Words were one thing, but Devyn was the type for action, if that had not been clear before. She was pretty sure Zoe was picking up on it and Devyn also picked up that Zoe had been coming out of her shell a lot more since they started being friends and then going out. Which then made Devyn wonder if she really was a bad influence or if Zoe was never really that shy to begin with. Thinking about it, it could make sense that Zoe was not all that shy. After all she did say that she was the one to kiss Aya, and she did kiss Devyn that same way. Wonder if Aya enjoyed it before the whole not being able to move deal. Devyn's mind began to wonder if Aya and Zoe were both feeling the same for one another or if it was one sided.

"Noted." Devyn said simply to the answer Zoe gave her response to Devyn's question. So it was more of a who Zoe cared about. That didn’t make Devyn feel special, but at the same time she was not all that bothered by it. The giggle was cute and Devyn always loved to hear it, so was happy that she had done the teasing. However Zoe rolled over closer to her, still keeping a hold of her arm. Devyn going to move the food out of the way half tempted to just knock it down onto the ground. Devyn smirking at the action of the finger tapping at her chin, half tempted to nibble on it, but the meds were still on it, so Devyn didn’t want that taste on her mouth as well. "I don’t like to wait. Plus I'm sure if I try hard enough you will give it to me." Devyn said keeping her smirk, enjoying the feeling of Zoe's lips along her jaw for the moment that she felt it, and still after. Even if she could not feel it, she still knew it was there and that helped out a little. Plus again, Zoe could still feel it so that helped Devyn deal a little more.

"When you tease me Zoe, I'm going to tease you back, and I won't be so nice about it." Devyn said in a whisper, moving a hand to touch Zoe's leg and slowly slide her hand up along the sweatpants. "I can’t help myself around you sometimes...a lot of the time. You are going to have to tell me no." Devyn said still in a whisper leaning closer to Zoe as he hand went to slide up to Zoe's hip, still touching the clothing. So long as she touched the clothing it was alright, right?

Noted; Zoe wasn't sure if that was good or bad. She certainly wasn't going to pry, considering that, well, this was Devyn, and prying could turn up all kinds of strange things. Plus they were already cuddled up against one another, even if Zoe had about as much clothing on as she possibly could. Well, she supposed she could have added another layer or so, such as her lowest layer, or possibly a coat, but she wasn't thinking of that. Well, she wasn't until Devyn's hand touched her leg.

Devyn had been naughty, essentially demanded the kiss instead of behaving for it, and now she was being naughtier still. Promised to tease back for every tease, which Zoe supposed she should have expected. But how could she not tease Devyn, really? That was, sort of how this whole thing worked, kinda. Won't be as nice, and that hand moved up; Zoe was very aware of the hand moving up. For several long seconds, she let the hand move up, feeling Devyn's warmth through the layer of cloth. It went all the way to her hip...

...and then Zoe had a flash, images of her jumping upon Devyn, kissing, hands moving. Devyn falling, not breathing. Zoe fought against the panic she felt surging within, moving toward Devyn more. She shifted, not telling Devyn no, but rotating so that the hand slid away from her body. She then wiggled the sweatshirt down so that it covered her hand, and gently nudged Devyn's hand further up, positioning it on Zoe's still covered stomach. Then she reached back and grabbed the ointment they'd still left close.

"If you want to be all touchy," she said, trying to keep that panic from flooding into her voice and mostly succeeding. Her voice still sounded a little stretched, "then you can massage more of this into my hands. It felt good, and, well," she flushed, setting the jar on Devyn's stomach. She certainly didn't want to mention the whole "emotional turn-on" thing, especially as she wasn't certain Devyn would get it, which would just make it more awkward and worse all around.

Devyn's smirk was not going away as she drifted her hand along Zoe's leg, even with the sweatpants she could still feel Zoe, wanted to feel the skin, but this was good enough. It was going to have to be good enough. No way could they do skin to skin like they had before. Devyn lucked out that time because of where they were, but was to say they would be that lucky again? What if Devyn died the next time? Did she even really care if she died? Devyn pushed those thoughts away, knowing the answer already and knew that she should not have thought like that. She had Kitty, she had Zoe, and a few other friends as well. They could be her purpose. Well, not really, but they were still there either way so it gave Devyn something to do. As long as she had something to do in the end, she figured she be fine.

Zoe moved towards her more, Devyn taking that as if she had permission, but instead felt her hand slip off of Zoe's body. It was not really telling her no, but kind of hinting to it? Devyn was not sure, which made an eyebrow rise and she tilted her head a little. Wondering what was going through Zoe's mind and why she had moved closer instead of telling Devyn no, like she should have. Sure Devyn didn’t like no, but she would have listened, been upset but listened. Zoe was going to have to tell her no at some point. So long as she wanted to keep that condition there. Her hand being moved to Zoe's stomach and watched Zoe reach for the ointment, having a pretty good idea what Zoe was going to ask. Moving a little to fully push the tray out of the way, managing to stretch well enough to get it on the ground, having to drop it a little, causing a clank as it hit the ground, but the food only made a small mess since it landed right.

"Alright." Devyn responded in a simple manner, taking the ointment that had been placed on her stomach and moving to open it. "I need a new pair of gloves, unless you don’t mind. Before it seemed with a good enough layer your power was not working all that well." Devyn pointed out, because yes she noticed even while she was having her little breakdown or freak-out. Only waiting for a moment before pouring some of the medicine on Zoe's hands and would go to rub it in. If her hands started to go numb then she would just stop for a little and go back to it. Careful with the IV in her arm and the monitors, not wanting to poke Zoe or make her uncomfortable

Devyn pushed the tray; Zoe felt and heard it leaving them, landing somewhere on the ground. She moved as if to grab the gloves, only to realize that the main set of them was sitting some distance away, way over in a place that was not near Devyn. Yeah, that wasn't going to work right now. Zoe groaned and leaned back, figuring that this meant that her poor hands were going to be achy and sore and all cracked and whatnot. So she was surprised to see Devyn opening the jar.

"I guess it's okay," she tried, her voice shaky. She shifted, licked her lips and looked. Devyn thought it was okay. But she really shouldn't be pushing it. Not really. But she really didn't want to get up and have to leave Devyn. The choice soon got taken from Zoe as the ointment hit her hands, and she smiled at her girlfriend as Devyn did it. Zoe soon closed her eyes, sinking back and sort of leaning against her girlfriend, which probably wasn't helping with the whole rubbing of the hands business. Zoe found that she didn't care.

Devyn's hands moved along Zoe, and the Brit couldn't help a little, soft moan from escaping her lips. She sank a little more into Devyn. She shifted, looking up at Devyn and smiling at her girlfriend, pure affection and adoration in those big brown eyes. "Thank you for this," she said, meaning every word. She leaned against Devyn, clearly indicating that she wasn't just meaning the hand massaging. not that it wasn't very good. Her hands tingled all over. She did nudge Devyn after a minute or so though, not wanting Devyn to numb her hands or have it accidentally spread up her arms. It wasn't a stop nudge though, but obviously a "watch your hands" nudge.

"Good, because I didn’t feel like waiting and then putting on gloves." Devyn said, pretending to be really lazy now, even if that was sort of true. She just wanted Zoe to stay where she was right now. It was pretty comfortable and also Devyn was still not scared about Zoe's power or anything like that. She still knew how long she could do thing and she was already in the infirmary bed. If anything bad were to happen, well she was already in the place she needed to be or would end up. Devyn worked both hands this time, not having an issue with it as she made to rub the ointment in really well like last time, being gentle again so not to hurt Zoe's hands. Making sure to rub in some between the fingers and deep into Zoe's palm. She still remembered that she would have to take it easy with Zoe's one hand with that sore spot, but she was pretty confident it would be fine.

"Try not to rub it all off this time." Devyn said teasing as she moved a little as Zoe leaned back, trying to make sure she could still rub at Zoe's hands. Moving them carefully and looking closely at Zoe's hands to make sure that she was getting every spot. Devyn went still for a moment at the soft moan that Zoe let out, Devyn having to take a deep breath to keep her mind focused on just the hand rubbing. She is just moaning because it feels good and she is relaxed, nothing sexual about it. Devyn said to herself, mentally nodding as she managed to keep her mind out of the gutter and worked on Zoe's hands, even still feeling Zoe sink into her a little more. Zoe was practically melting, kind of like when Devyn kissed her neck, but maybe different. Devyn was not sure and again she was trying to be good and keep her mind at of the gutter, challenge accepted. Her green eyes looking over to Zoe as her girlfriend shifted to look at her with those beautiful brown eyes. Just the way they looked at Devyn made her feel special, but also something else...she was not sure what.

"No problem Zoe. It’s what best friends do...girlfriends too." Devyn made sure to add that in there and gave a small nod. Looking at Zoe who seemed practically fine with where she was and how snuggled in she was. Devyn was thankful for the nudge because she forgot for a moment. Stopping to take a break and wiggled her finger, realizing that she was going to have this medicine on her hands too. She would just wipe it on her pants later and be sure to not rub her eyes with her fingers. Going back to rubbing Zoe's hands once she had full feeling again.

Good thing that Zoe hadn't wanted to move then. Though she firmly believed that if she'd gotten up and grabbed a pair of gloves, Devyn would've put them on. Strange, but now that Zoe relaxed and thought, she began to realize that Devyn was willing to do quite a lot for her if she asked. She just never actually did, for some reason. Probably because she didn't want to push, and she definitely didn't want to be that needy girlfriend or what have you.

"That was your fault," mumbled Zoe, shuffling and lifting her hands so Devyn could get better access to her hands. This felt far, far too good. Almost as good as when they'd, well, done what had gotten them in here in the first place. Except this wasn't going to potentially hospitalize anyone. Probably. Zoe was fairly certain that she actually wasn't melting, even if it might feel more or less like that was precisely what was happening. Complete with gazing into someone's eyes. Could Devyn read minds in addition to everything else? Did she know that all Zoe really wanted was to be swept off her feet?

"Girlfriends," repeated Zoe, sounding insistent even as she fought to stay awake, her eyelids fluttering, "I don't have sexy dreams about my best friends," she said, cuddling back. she felt the hands move and she actually whimpered, opening her eyes, only to remember that she'd nudged them. She smiled and moved to lightly kiss Devyn's cheek. "And you're doing the girlfriend thing; don't think I'm not," she paused to yawn and nuzzle against her, "noticing," she murmured. This was what she wanted, in other words. Though she would've liked to be a little more alert for it.

Devyn would honestly do pretty much what Zoe would ask of her, she just had to ask and it had to be within the realm of what Devyn could do and didn’t mind doing. She didn’t mind rubbing Zoe's hands and simple things like that. She was not sure what she would say no to, but she was pretty sure if it came up she would not hesitate to say no. Not like Zoe asked for much anyways, so it was not that big of a deal or something to concern herself with. Well there was that one thing that Zoe kind of was asking from Devyn in a way, even if Zoe said that did not want to push Devyn to. Zoe wanted Devyn to love her; she basically had asked it in a way, by setting up that condition of hers. Devyn still respected Zoe for it and how she stood firm by it even now when Devyn would tease and what have you. Still does not make it an easy request. Devyn thought as he green eyes looked away for a moment as if tossing the thoughts away and that was what she was doing.

"True, so I'm making it up to you now." Devyn said speaking softly now, seeing as Zoe was getting pretty comfortable now and would most likely end up falling asleep right where she was. Zoe shuffled which made it easier to get access to Zoe's hands, which was what Devyn was trying to focus on. Devyn looked back into those brown eyes and gave a smile at her girlfriend. No she could not read minds and she didn’t really know what Zoe had wanted from her. She never really knew what someone wanted from her, she could guess but she could not be sure. That was again why she wanted others to make the first move while she would flirt and have her fun. Yes Devyn could be romantic; she bought flowers, cooked, and got gifts. It had just been a while since she had last gone out with someone instead of doing flings, so she was still getting back into the grove of things. Plus the whole food, gifts, and flowers...well Devyn would do those for friends and people she was flirting with, well minus the food for just people she flirted with.

Zoe's word came out insistent, like she could not accept anything but girlfriends in this case, which did make Devyn chuckle just a little. Still, it worried her just a little because if things didn’t work out with her and Zoe she still wanted to have her as a friend. Zoe was a good friend, in the best friend area as far as Devyn was concerned, but Zoe was right. They were girlfriends. "Make sure your dream about me tonight when you sleep then. I expect to hear you moan out my name in your sleep." Devyn whispered in Zoe's ear, but she behaved herself past that, making sure to full rub Zoe's hands until they were nice and coated with the ointment, then moving to wipe her hands off on her pants and a little bit of the sheets. Devyn had to move around a little so Zoe would be under them as well. She nodded at Zoe's words about noticing, but not saying anything as she moved an arm around Zoe and pulled her close against her, but remained watching her. "Get some sleep Zoe." Devyn spoke softly, knowing that Zoe did in fact need some sleep and would make sure Zoe would get it.

"Mm," agreed Zoe as Devyn agreed to making things up to her. Those hands on hers certainly felt good, so good. Zoe could feel herself giving way, relaxing more and more. Moments like these, they were perfect, almost too perfect. It did make Zoe vaguely think of what it must be like to sink into an exhausted sleep next to Devyn for entirely different reasons. But how could that ever happen, even if they wanted it to? She yawned again, nuzzling against Devyn, fully enjoying the cuddling opportunity.

Dream about Devyn when she slept; Zoe smiled as she heard that command, especially the little bit about moaning, "Devyn," she moaned, making it sound as breathy as possible. She opened her eyes a little, smiling impishly up at her girlfriend. The hand massaging stopped, and Zoe shifted once more, laying against Devyn, feeling her girlfriend's body pressed against him, the warmth from the other girl seeping into Zoe already. The exhaustion of the day saw its chance and sprang, overwhelming any resistances that Zoe would have had. Not that she put up any at this point. She welcomed the heat and the slumber with open arms, sliding into it.

As Zoe felt sleep taking hold, she mumbled a few words, nearly speaking them into Devyn's side, obviously not quite aware of what slid out as slumber overtook her: "I love you, Devyn."

And then she'd sink into sweet dreams, at least for now.

The nuzzling was always cute, Devyn would think of Zoe as a little puppy sometimes when she did that. The way Zoe nuzzled in close for warmth and in order to be closer to Devyn, at least that was what Devyn assumed. Devyn enjoyed it either way, having Zoe this close, able to smell Zoe's scent even better with her being this close, feeling her girlfriend's warm, and seeing that Zoe seemed to be really comfortable with this all. Good. Devyn thought since she really didn’t want Zoe to shut her out, run away, or never do this kind of thing with her again after the incident. It seemed like that was how things were going to be at the start of Devyn having awakened, but now, now everything seemed like it was going to be fine.

Zoe moaned out her name, doing a pretty good job at making it sound breathy as if they had been doing certain thing. Devyn literally stopped moving, breathing, and pretty sure her heart stopped for a moment at that. Caught complete off guard and then her heart started to beat a little faster. the stupid monitor giving away the rate of which her heart was beating and she wanted to break it. Even if Zoe could possibly feel Devyn's heart beating with how close she was. Be good, you can do this. Don’t do anything. She is just teasing. Teasing so very well. Devyn thought as she swallowed hard and bit her lip and managed to keep her arms and hands where they were. Not moving or anything and not saying anything. That was good, she felt proud of herself, but she was going to get back at Zoe for that later one. She would not forget, already setting a goal to make Zoe really moan out her name for real by just teasing her girlfriend.

"Go to sleep Zoe." Devyn managed to get out, shaking her head a little, so planning on getting Zoe back later on. She have to wait, wait for Zoe to be more awake. Well she could mess with Zoe while she was asleep and Zoe might not even realize that it was really. No, Devyn wanted Zoe to be fully awake for it, so she knew it was real. Devyn was not really feeling all that sleepy, but she figured if she laid here long enough all comfy next to Zoe it would see take a hold of her. Devyn made sure she was fully comfy, closing her eyes only to open them at hearing the mumbled words. Zoe said that she loved Devyn, fully this time. Devyn took a deep breath for a moment, remaining silent as Zoe differed off to sleep. I wish you would love someone that was not like me. Devyn thought, unable to say anything and just closed her eyes and settled in to try and get some sleep, finding it to be even harder with her busy mind.
