“Oh, really? Haunted?”
Akeem didn’t seem impressed in the slightest about this new rumour apparently floating around. A haunted library? People had nothing better to do than to say that a part of Kalispell’s library housed ghosts? Akeem was tempted to ask what kind of ghosts. No, really. Were they those of the writers or perhaps or washed-up writers who could not make it? Maybe it was built under an Indian cemetery. Apparently, if you believed horror movies that is, every time a place was haunted, it always started with an Indian cemetery. You’d think they would have something better to do of their afterlife than to scare people half to death. Couldn’t they find some sexy dead Indian girl to spend eternity with and leave whoever was disrespectful enough to build on top of their otherwise unused ground alone?
“There’s never anyone in that section yet you hear all kinds of stuff going on and I heard someone even saw the books moving. They fell, on their own.” So that was the reason why this place was haunted? Books falling over their shelves? First of all, people went to that section of the library. Akeem did on occasion. It was where they put some law books. It made sense then, considering the type of books offered in that section, why it was not so crowded. Who cared of books about law, history and that kind of stuff? But they were expensive and Akeem was not going to buy every single book about every single law there was so he did go there occasionally.
“It’s probably just some teenagers full of hormones necking there,” Akeem replied dismissively. He couldn’t say a library ever gave him such thoughts but he also could not deny seeing a logic in there. A teenager’s logic, that is. “Seriously, your story is so crazy. Who’ll believe it? Look, no one,” he added, pointing at someone who had been close enough of them to hear this conversation. At least, it was Akeem’s opinion. He was now waving in that person’s direction, waiting to be proven right on this one. Haunted library right!
