Being the talent manager at Dyer Records was beginning to feel like a calling for Addison. She was good at scouting for talent and so far, her sales pitch has gotten her some very big talents. She had even scored a few to perform in the upcoming music festival. Addison was in a good place.
Despite feeling like home at a managerial position, the musician in her was still very much alive. She still loved playing her music and singing her songs. What better way to get back that rush than by busking in the town square?
With her guitar in hand, Addison began to play. She started out with covers, and then a few of her own songs, always upbeat with a smile on her face. A few people passed by and dropped pennies and dollar notes but no one actually stopped to listen. That didn't deter her. At one point, she got lost in her music and when she opened her eyes, a little boy stood in front of her with a toothless beam.
"Can you play something for me?" He asked. Without hesitating, she nodded. He asked her to play the alphabet song and again, without hesitation, she started strumming. "Sing along with me." She waved him over and they started singing together. She briefly wondered where his mother was. Nursery rhyme after nursery rhyme they sang together, actually drawing up a crowd by then and still his mother was nowhere to be found.
"Hey kid, where's your mom?" Addison asked. The boy shrugged and stayed by her side until she realised that his mother must be panicking. "Anyone seen his parents?" Addison asked, facing the little crowd.
