This certainly wasn't how Drew had expected this business trip to go. It had started unassuming enough with little delay in getting the private plane out of the gate and in the air, but everything soon took a turn for the worse. A sudden storm had caused the plane to divert and a rough landing in Milwaukee succeeded in grounding the craft indefinitely. Usually such a series of events wouldn't phase Drew. He'd flown enough to understand the benefits of the flight crew finding mechanical issues while the plane was still on the ground as opposed to in the air. It wasn't so much having to spend the next few hours (at least) in the plane, which was more akin to a plush, flying hotel than the cramped transport most experienced during cross-country flight.
No, none of that was the cause of Drew's stress. He wasn't concerned in the slightest about arriving a little later than planned or the long hours he'd have to spend on board the plane. Rather it was the blonde woman sitting in the plane's cabin that had Drew scrambling for the liquor cabinet.
"It looks like it's going to be a few hours before we know more." Drew said vaguely as he took a seat across from Ellen Banks . He lifted the glass of bourbon he held to his lips and took a short drink. He sighed in preemptive annoyance from the inevitable stream of contemptuous ranting that was sure to come. Why he'd let Erika convince him to bring Ellen along on this trip, he'd never know. "You head out and do... whatever." He said, hoping Ellen would opt to do that rather than remain in the plane and drive him insane. Unfortunately they were in Milwaukee. He doubted Ellen was all too eager to explore Wisconsin, of all places.
