Accidents could happen and when the woman dropped her cup, having it break on the floor, splashing the brown liquid everywhere, Franck was quick to get on the other side of the counter and assure her it was alright. She was so embarrassed and sorry, being close to her only made it worse on the poor guy. He looked at her, wishing he could tell her to simply head to the counter and order it again. She would have to do that but she’ll likely have to pay again too. He had wished he could just offer it to her but he was not sure he was allowed that. It was a shop after all. You don’t hand over free things in a shop. So he preferred to clean up the mess instead. At least he wouldn’t have to deal with her and the embarrassment she felt. Just being close of her had been enough.
He first picked the broken pieces of the cup and tossed them in the garbage before fetching the mop and bucket. He placed the yellow sign in the way, to warn people it was a slippery floor. He made sure people would still have enough place to walk around it but that it was visible enough. Then again, the bright yellow surely did the trick. Most people did not even bother to look at the little guy falling drawn on it, you just knew when that sign was there that the floor was wet.
He couldn’t say cleaning it spilled coffee was nice but he doubted anyone loved doing janitorial work. He never quite liked the mop, to be perfectly honest. He found it heavier than it was necessary. It was worse when it was drenched with the soapy water. But he was not in charge of buying the cleaning supplies and he probably had more muscle strength than the girl working with him right now. It was just coffee, he’d wash it away in no time anyway.
