INVESTIGATION BEGINS - The Kalispell Police Department has officially opened an investigation into the recent rise of violence directed toward the city's mutant population. While many have pointed fingers at the pro-human message of the Anti-Mutant Association (AMA) as a root cause, KPD Lieutenent Reid Chase warns against drawing premature conclusions and cautions citizens about attempting to take matters into their own hands.
Studies have shown a sharp uptick in reported cases of violence against mutants throughout the Kalispell Metropolitan Area since the beginning of the year. If the current pace of reported violence continues this year will show an increase of nearly 200%. This startling figure as left many members of the substantial mutant community fearful for their safety and quickly growing angry with a lack of answers from local law enforcement.
Local AMA founder and leader, Elizabeth Fisher has denied any involvement or influence on the recent increase in violent crimes citing the recent exposure of mutants as a primary reason. Fisher also stated she felt the inherent danger of mutants has ultimately led to the violent response.
NBA ANNOUNCES NEW D-LEAGUE TEAM - The National Basketball Association has officially granted Kalispell's proposal for an expansion team to begin play in the upcoming season for the NBA's Developmental, or 'D-League'. This league is considered the 'minor leagues' for NBA teams. Construction for a multi-use sports arena and entertainment complex has begun in downtown Kalispell and expects to be opened this summer, well before the D-league season officially begins.
With the announcement that professional sports is coming to Kalispell it marks yet another step in the continued growth of the Kalispell Metropolitan Area.
BELLFONTE PREPARES TO CELEBRATE EARTH DAY - As the weather starts to change and Kalispell shakes off its winter chill the Bellefonte Academy is gearing up for a special camping trip to commemorate Earth Day.
