Kaylee Marie Miller
FACE CLAIM: Vika Levina
---------------------------------
AGE: 17
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Unsure
POSITION: B.A Student
POWER: Super Strength and Durability
Kaylee has an incredible ability to defy weight limitations, but not to completely break them. Dense, lengthy or overweight items are easy for her to move and are simple to use in nearly any manner. She can crush, lift or catch items of great weight. She also has heightened physical durability, the ability to endure and resist damage. It allows her to take numerous blows of internal or external assaults before succumbing to the effects.
However, Kaylee cannot lift things as heavy as a car or a truck. She can lift larger boulders, people and objects four times as heavy as her own weight. This is also a power that cannot be turned off or on. It's constantly "on" and therefore Kaylee has to be on constant watch to make sure she doesn't hit, kick or punch something or someone since the effect can be fatal.
As for the durability, even if she can take a lot more damage than others, when she first gets hurt, it will take her a lot longer to heal and get back on track. Her physical strength is much higher than that of a normal human being and she is able to resist a lot more damage before becoming injured, which has helped her in more ways than one. Kaylee uses her ability to better her love for sports, though it often wears her out due to constantly having to hold back in fear of actually hurting someone.
LIMITATIONS:SIDE-EFFECTS:
- Balance, gravity and mass will still affect her.
- She's still susceptible to Newton's laws of motion.
- She might damage environment or other people without intending to do so, or even noticing.
- The durability is not the same as invulnerability and therefore, she can only take on so much damage before it takes an effect.
- Again; She can only lift things as heavy as four times her own weight.
- Sore muscles, joint pain and general muscle stiffness.
- Exhaustion, tiredness and headaches that can grow into migraines, nausea and nosebleeds.
- Back and muscle troubles, often having pain in the lower regions of her back and shoulders.
She'd always been tall for her age; 5'10 and seemed to have stopped there. Heck, she was a freaking giant. Her brown hair lay down her shoulders, completely lifeless, though they sort of complimented her green eyes. Sighing, the fourteen year old sat down on the field - it was her first year of high school and she'd signed up for the lacrosse team, so she sat there, with her friends, just chilling. They were talking about guys and make-up, neither of which really interested her, but she felt the need to stay. She felt apart of something, something special. That usually made you special too, didn't it?
Still, she felt odd today. Not odd as in sick, but as if there was something weird with her body. Her muscles felt sore, yet, she hadn't even started training yet. She'd stayed still for the most of the day, especially considering how she'd been in class all morning. She had felt the feeling of her muscles slowly being drained all day and no matter how hard she had tried, she couldn't shake it.
Then, the headache kicked in and it felt as if someone had illiterately kicked her in the face. Groaning, she pressed the palm of her hand against her face, blinking as she waited for the headache to pass - it didn't. People around her started to notice and shot her concerned glances. One, Kaylee's best friend rose to her feet. From the corner of her eye, Kaylee could see her outreached hand growing nearer. "Don't," Kaylee muttered under her breath, but her friend didn't seem to notice. Then, she felt the sweaty palm of her friend touch upon her own cool skin and something inside Kaylee snapped.
Without intending to, she moved her hands, jerking to the side and bumping her shoulder against her friend's, and that's when they all heard it. The loud crack, then the scream of pain. Blinking, Kaylee's eyes filled with tears as she watched her best friend on the ground, clutching onto her shoulder, which seemed to be in an odd position... Then the eyes, they all turned towards Kaylee. All staring - some in wonder, but most of them, they stared in horror.
And Kaylee ran.
She burst through the doors of her home, the familiar smell of pancakes from the kitchen filled her with even more sadness; what had she done? How could she possibly explain this to her parents? Her mother stepped into the hall, her eyes immediately moving towards her daughter, whom was still crying. Her green eyes grew concerned and she hushed her daughter into the kitchen and placed her down on a chair.
"Honey, what happened?" her mother asked. Kaylee didn't want to tell her. She felt so ashamed and equally confused. What had happened? How could she possibly have broken her friend's bone, because that was what had happened, right? She simply shook her head and wiped her running nose off with the back of her hand.
"Mummy," she croaked, "I think- I-," a sob cut her off and her entire body started to shake. "I hurt Mona," she added, her voice barely audible. "What do you mean?" her mother asked, suddenly cautious. "I- I don't know what happened- I felt so odd and then, I just.. Just.." A light seemed to go up in her mother's eyes and she smiled. She actually smiled. "Why are you smiling?" the teenager demanded, her eyes narrowing despite the tears covering her cheeks. "Wait here honey, I'll call someone who can explain this way better than I'll ever be able to."
After a few hours, someone did. Someone who called themselves recruiters; Kaylee was a mutant, like her mother and father before her. And she was going to Bellefonte Academy.
