Bailey Reagan Bonneville
FACE CLAIM: Jimin Park
---------------------------------
AGE: 16
GENDER: Male
ORIENTATION: Uncertain
POSITION: Student
POWER: Mochi Manipulation
Bailey has the ability to mold, move, and generally manipulate mochi balls. It's basically just a very specialized form of telekinesis, as he's unable to manipulate anything but mochi. This includes being able to make it move, float, warp its shape, etc.
LIMITATIONS:
He can use his ability on several balls at once, although the more he tries to take on, the less control he has over each of them, and the less time he is able to manipulate them for. His current limit is about 20 mochi balls before he is unable to control them much at all.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Side effects of Bailey's power include fatigue, headaches, and sugar cravings. The sugar cravings and mild headaches are very common, but stronger headaches and fatigue are only more severe if he pushes himself too far.
HEIGHT: 5'7"
HAIR COLOR: Typically dark brown, but likes to change it up on occasion.
EYE COLOR: Brown
MISC: Bailey likes to think he has a manly face, but in reality, it's quite squishy and pliable-looking, especially when he puffs out his cheeks (which is often). He has full lips, lightly tanned skin, and a mop of chestnut-colored hair that frames his dark eyes that crinkle upwards when he smiles (also often).
The other 'manly' trait that he doesn't possess is height. While he's very broadly built and has a good amount of muscle tone to him, he's only 5'7" (he says 7 and a half but that might be generous). He blames his mother for this, as she's a very tiny woman and his father is actually a 6'5" giant. But he does have thick biceps, thighs, and calves, and prides himself on being strong despite his shortness. Bailey possesses many scars at any given time due to his active hobbies - mainly sports - but nothing that is particularly noticeable.
His normal attire consists of sportswear, especially tanktops and long basketball shorts. Due to his Canadian heritage, he stays warm pretty easily, and only bundles up when he has to go outside for extended periods of time when it's chilly.
PERSONALITY: Bailey is your typical teenage jock for the most part. He's into a variety of sports, mostly football and basketball, though he dabbles in pretty much any other one that the school offers. He likes to think of himself as a breakdancer too, although he's still an amateur at that so far. He's fairly popular with most of the other guys in sports, as well as the cheerleaders, and anyone else who is involved in watching football or basketball matches at school. He's a pretty big flirt with the girls, and although he has noticed that he seems to be attracted to men as well, Bailey isn't open about that yet.
While he's not a bully, he does have a bit of an ego, and can come across as cocky if he's in a particularly vain mood. It usually comes across in a sort of joking manner, but it can definitely get on people's nerves when he goes too far. As far as the not-bullying thing goes, however, he actually prides himself on protecting the little guys in school that do get picked on, and can get a little rough and shove-y if he's feeling it. He's actually been bullied for his shortness in the past, but has quickly stood up to anyone that might taunt him and made sure they know that he's not someone to mess with.
While he likes to think of himself as masculine and manly for the most part, he did pick up a hobby from his father that usually isn't perceived as such - cooking and baking. He got both his sporty nature as well as the food-appreciative one from his dad, and since his dad is one of the biggest, manliest, most inspirational people he knows, he has no shame in taking part in such activities and is happily a member of the culinary club.
He's not especially dumb, but he's not especially intelligent either. Bailey averages a B or B- in school for most classes except PE, and the only classes he doesn't dislike are the sciences (although even those are just a bit more tolerable). He'd rather be out doing something instead of being stuck in a class or doing homework.
SECRET(S): When he bakes alone, he wears a frilly pink apron that his cousin Bunny made for him.
FATHER: Justin Bonneville, 45, bakery co-owner, fortune cookie-based divination
MOTHER: Soonbok Bonneville, 44, bakery co-owner, non-powered
SIBLINGS: Hailey Bonneville, 21, college student, sprinkles manifestation
WORTHY MENTIONS: Margery "Bunny" Bonneville (cousin)
CHILDHOOD: Bailey was born in Vancouver, BC, to a late-twenty-year-old couple that had already had a daughter, Hailey, five years previously. His father, Justin, was previously a very promising football player in college in the states, but after a rather severe injury that left him unable to play anymore, he and his wife decided to move back to his hometown in Vancouver and start a bakery. They named it after the man's physique, as he is a very broad and muscled 6'5" man that one wouldn't usually expect to see dressed in an apron. They became co-owners of a local bakery called the Stud Muffin Cafe that was highly successful, especially with tourists, and their family was comfortable with the income it brought in and Bailey was able to live a comfortable childhood. They often traveled to Seattle to visit Justin's brother, Lawrence, and his wife and daughter Margery (Bunny), who was close to Bailey's age. Even though they didn't see each other on a very frequent basis, the two cousins always got along well and even now are quite close, especially since they can spend more time together at Bellefonte.
As a child, he quickly picked up on his dad's main hobbies - sports and cooking. His family thought it was a good mixture of interests for him to have, and were pleased with him growing up and helping out in the bakery on occasion. His older sister, Hailey, was into cooking as well, but was more interested in fashion and design than she was into sports, and so she and Bailey weren't incredibly close growing up due to their differing interests. They didn't bicker a lot or anything, they just found other friends to spend more time with.
ADOLESCENCE: Bailey did well enough in school, and didn't have trouble making friends and usually kept out of trouble for the most part. When he was eight, Hailey manifested her powers, which didn't come as a surprise since their father was a meta-human and one of his most well-known goods in the bakery were his surprisingly accurate fortunes inside fortune cookies. He was a little bummed to see her go, but also excited, because he thought it meant that maybe when he was old enough, he would get a cool power too.
And he did! When Bailey turned 13, his power manifested while he and his dad were working together on some mochi balls in the bakery. All seemed to be going just as normal until Bailey dropped a tray of the sticky goods on the floor, and in his dismay, sent all of them flying into the air and back up onto the counter without touching them. There were a few moments of stunned silence before the two of them looked at each other and both were thinking the same thing - that he just manifested as a telekinetic.
It didn't take too long for them to realize that his abilities were much more limited than that, but nonetheless, the recruiters came. As with Hailey, they were aware that Bellefonte was closer to their hometown than the Canadian school in Quebec, and made them decide to send him to Montana instead of further east. About a year later, with both of their children in Kalispell as well as Justin's brother's family moving to the area for Bunny's sake when she was also taken to Bellefonte, Bailey's parents decided to expand their business. They hired a manager (another big guy with a knack for baking) to take care of the shop in Vancouver, and moved to Kalispell to start another Stud Muffin Cafe in the area. It has so far been as successful as they'd hoped, and they are glad they took the risk, and also glad that they can be closer to their family at the same time.
In his three years at Bellefonte, Bailey has found a niche for himself in the sports and culinary clubs and teams, and is enjoying his time there. He's glad to have his family close by and, though he lives in the dorms, likes to spend weekends at home when he can. Hailey has since graduated and is now a college student, and his cousin Bunny, of course, is a fellow student at Bellefonte.
SAMPLE: Zeke couldn't actually recall how he'd met Eugene Whitaker, or how they'd somehow become unexpected friends. It had been a year or two ago, at least, and despite their differences in class, ages, and personalities, they managed to get along alright. Sure, sometimes Gene was a little aggressive and Zeke always just let him do what he wanted without a fight, but they were both pretty quiet individuals that just liked to play games, so it worked.
The older boy went over to Eugene's place every once in a while to do just that. The Whitaker boy had much better and more recent gaming systems (not to mention more of them in general), and apparently didn't mind that Zeke mooched off of him a little in that way. He paid Gene back in quiet company, someone to play partner games with, and sometimes snacks (he'd come to learn the boy's favorites by now).
Today, bundled up in a thick winter coat against the chilly weather, Zeke knocked on Eugene's lavish front door with a plastic bag clutched in his hand. Upon the door opening, he would offer the tiniest of smiles and lifted the bag slightly. "Hi," he said softly. "I brought Nutella and cereal. I think it's the kind that you like." When ushered inside, Zeke quickly stepped into the warmth of the house and took off his jacket to hang on the coat rack. "Have you got any new games lately?" he asked with quiet curiosity; his voice rarely raised above a whisper. "There have been a lot of releases lately, it seems like."
