The nurse carefully pushed the groggy girls wheelchair back into her room, breathing heavily as she looked over to Lynette. We had to sedate her a little bit. She kinda freaked out and we couldnt calm her down. She pushed the chair to the bed, wrapping her arm around Petra and easing her up. She'll be fine in about 10 minutes The woman lowered the girl onto the bed.
Petra's half closed eyes blinked slowly as her hand reached out gently towards Lynette. Now, her mental evaluation certainly wasnt the best. The nurse cleared her throat. 'm nooot crazsay/ Petra slurred, and the nurse looked to Lynette, waiting for a respone.

"We had to sedate her a little bit. She kinda freaked out and we couldn’t calm her down.”
When Petra had been taken away for the evaluation, Lynette had returned to the room for some rest. Despite her exhaustion, she’d managed to send out an email to the school to inform them of where she was and why she would have to be back by tomorrow. Once that had gone through, Lynette had passed out in the chair within Petra’s room. However the nurse’s voice managed to pierce through the black haze over her mind and Lynette’s eyelids fluttered open.
"She'll be fine in about 10 minutes."
Lynette nodded as she stretched and forced herself awake. She could hardly believe she felt so tired even with all the sporadic sleep she was getting. Although the more she thought on it, the more she figured that had something to do with it.
"Now, her mental evaluation certainly wasn’t the best.”
Lynette paused a little when the nurse said that, although a good part of her already suspected as much.
"'m nooot crazsay.”
Her heart went out to petra again as Lynette sat up and gave her a smile but caring smile. She felt awful for the girl, but after hearing Petra in the bath she knew that the girl needed professional help. As much as Lynette wanted to do something for her, she knew she wasn’t exactly trained for this.
”What did it say?” Lynette asked the nurse before smiling kindly at Petra. ”I know you aren’t Petra. You’ve simply had horrible experiences. We’re only trying to help you.”

The girl looked through half closed, bleary eyes at her teacher, feeling a little safer in her presence. The nurse draped the blanket over eye, before straightening up and smoothing out her outfit. Well, it seems she has several mental problems. She gave a small pause, before continuing.
We already know she shows signs of agner problems, she was diagnosed with that when she was young. Depression is the most obvious. That can be conrolled by drugs and therapy. Then she also had PTSD; post tramatic stress disorder. That would explain the twitching, jumpiness and nightmares. Again, meds and therapy can help with that. She cleared her throat, preparing her next words.
We also believe she has schizophrenia. When we were talking she would often speak as if to another person, and not to any of us. She also seemed to believe that her husband was waiting outside the door to hurt her. Again, she paused. He waaas. Hes gon' 'urt me. The young girl slurred again. Have you noticed her having difficulty concentrating, avoiding people, being withdraw or having hallucination?

"Well, it seems she has several mental problems.”
Lynette grimaced but had already figured the truth. She stayed silent and simply nodded in reply.
"We already know she shows signs of anger problems, she was diagnosed with that when she was young. Depression is the most obvious. That can be controlled by drugs and therapy. Then she also had PTSD; post traumatic stress disorder. That would explain the twitching, jumpiness and nightmares. Again, meds and therapy can help with that.”
Both dread and sympathy mingled inside Lynette as the nurse prattled on. She stole a glanced at Petra; she was suffering from so much!
"We also believe she has schizophrenia. When we were talking she would often speak as if to another person, and not to any of us. She also seemed to believe that her husband was waiting outside the door to hurt her.”
"He waaas. Hes gon' 'urt me.”
Lynette’s anger, buried so deep within her, came clawing it’s way to the surface again when Petra’s “husband” was mentioned.
”I’m afraid she has good reason to fear that. Her husband abuses her, as she’s told me. Although I believe that’s something that should be handled by the police. I do not want her to have to fear him coming after her.” Lynette stated firmly, looking at the nurse. ”I think it would be best to contact the authorities over this matter and try to have him arrested.”
Seeing Petra like this- depressed and scared enough to try and kill herself to escape- had been enough to bring out Lynette’s hard found ire. She did not want this man to walk free to hurt Petra another day.
"Have you noticed her having difficulty concentrating, avoiding people, being withdraw or having hallucination?”
Lynette bit her bottom lip and considered all she could remember of Petra during school.
”I confess I’m still fairly new to the school I teach at and Petra attends. I wouldn’t notice everything because of that. Occasionally she will have trouble in class focusing, but I simply put that down to normal behavior. As for the last three, I’m not exactly sure. I only rarely saw her outside of class.” Lynette paused and worried her lip between her teeth. ”I’m not so sure on what happens here in the States but,” She hesitated, ”Will Petra have to go elsewhere to be watched so she doesn’t harm herself again? I know she would most likely need to see someone for her mental health, but would she need to stay hospitalized?”
In a way that would make sense to Lynette, although she wasn’t exactly sure about the whole process. Although now that she thought on it, she realized something.
”I’m also not so sure it would be best to notify her parents of this. Especially not her husband. But again, I’m not so sure of all the proceedings. I only want to make sure Petra is alright and in good hands.”

The girl tried to blank out the words the nurse said, wanted to dissapear. She was becoming more alert as the sedative wore off, her eyes clenching shut tightly as her teacher and the nurse conversed. Her head twicthed to the side as she breathed heavily through her nose.
I think it would be best to contact the authorities over this matter and try to have him arrested
The words perice her mind, pulling her up into a shaky sitting position. N-no police. She spoke loudly, the panic evident in her voice. She had spent to much time in police cars when she was younger. Not to mention the fact that she had killed a man. She reconed they would remember her. And Max would murder her if she did.
Whether she has to stay or not would depend on how she is over the next week or so. Because of the malnutrition and the suicide attempt, we want to keep her here until she is not so... frail. The nurse cleared her throat, before turning. Ill leave you two alone so you can rest. Slowly she walked out, closing the door behind her.
No police. Petra said firmly, looking at her hands, her twitching becoming more vicious and she pressed herself into the pillow.

"I think it would be best to contact the authorities over this matter and try to have him arrested."
Lynette slowly nodded her head, in complete agreement. This husband of Petra’s had to be put away before he could harm the girl again.
"N-no police.”
Lynette looked over in surprise when Petra spoke up. Worry once again commanded her features as she noticed the panic in Petra’s expression. Despite Petra’s protests, it only made Lynette more determined to go to the authorities over the matter. In her own opinion, no one should have to have that much fear in their eyes.
"Whether she has to stay or not would depend on how she is over the next week or so. Because of the malnutrition and the suicide attempt, we want to keep her here until she is not so... frail.”
Lynette glanced back at the nurse and gave her a nod, understanding the reasoning behind the statement.
”I’ll leave you two alone so you can rest.”
Lynette watched the nurse go before turning her attention back to Petra. She was slightly surprised they were letting Lynette be alone with the girl, but Petra seemed calmer around Lynette.
"No police.”
Lynette had no idea why Petra was so scared, but obviously there was a reason. As Lynette watched, her twitching was worsening and she sunk back into the pillows as if she were trying to hide. Lynette offered a soft, kind smile.
”Petra please understand. We have to contact the authorities. I don’t want you getting hurt again.” Lynette shook her head. ”I hate seeing you so scared like this! The authorities will help.”

The girl watched the nurse leave, chewing her nails nervously, her head still twitching. She slowly looked to Lynette, tears blurring her vision. I-i spent my entire life in the hands of the authorities. They've done nothing for me. She said gently, before moving to one side of the bed.
You can lie down if you want. She tried too talk casually, wanting the topic of the police to be dropped. She looked athe her wrists, runngin her fingers gently over the pale bandages. He wont quit you know. No matter how many times I told him not to he still hurt me. I didnt tell him I was pregnant, and when I came out of hospital I remember walking through the door and he was screaming at me. I think he threw a frying pan at me. When i woke up I was in bed next to him and I didnt have my cloths on.. and i- She stopped taling, wiping tears from her cheeks.

"I-i spent my entire life in the hands of the authorities. They've done nothing for me.”
Lynette didn’t think her heart could break any more. All it could do now was ache inside of her chest as she listened to Petra speak.
"You can lie down if you want.”
The offer caught Lynette by surprise and she had to stare for a few moments before comprehending. She gave Petra a kind smile, but the ends of it were tainted with her exhaustion.
”Thank you Petra, but I wouldn’t want to push you out of your bed. It’s for you.”
It was a nice gesture, but Lynette wanted Petra to have as much comfort as possible. She could imagine it was already a little iffy since the girl was stuck in a hospital.
"He wont quit you know. No matter how many times I told him not to he still hurt me. I didn’t tell him I was pregnant, and when I came out of hospital I remember walking through the door and he was screaming at me. I think he threw a frying pan at me. When I woke up I was in bed next to him and I didn’t have my cloths on.. and I-“
Lynette felt like she was stuck in an endless loop. She would feel sympathy, have her heart ache, become even more exhausted, and then repeat. She wasn’t blaming Petra by any means, but at the same time she felt increasingly bad that she couldn’t completely convince Petra that she could get real help for her problems if she’d let others in. Lynette knew she couldn’t do enough for the girl on her own.
”Petra I’m-” Lynette paused for a moment to inhale, ”I’m sorry. If there was some way I could go back in time and make sure none of this happened to you then I would. Unfortunately the fact of the matter is that it has happened and you need real help. We can have your husband arrested for what he’s done to you, and get you all patched up. Then when you leave you won’t have to be afraid because he won’t be there to hurt you. I want to help, but that means you’ve got to let these people help too. I care about you Petra; I don’t want you to have to constantly be looking over your shoulder for this man.”
