Levi followed the bunch as they moved about. He looked around trying to understand fully what the plan was and how exactly this was going to work. The archer’s last comment had him agreeing. He wanted to say that’s exactly why I’m here. “Tell me about it.” Was all he managed instead.
The girl had seemed optimistic both about the people left behind were actually safer than the people sent to fight. She had even mentioned possibly living to tell the tale. Levi shook his head subtly and laughed inwardly. It was foolish to think anyone was safe, with the exception of the King, but even that was unlikely. Levi had a growing suspicion that the reason all these people were sent out to ‘fight the great evil’ was just a ploy to save the King’s ass.
Levi eyed the dog. What was the point of bring it? It didn’t matter, it wasn’t his problem. It was clear that no one was really favorable to the kingdom. He figured most weren’t. He couldn’t help but wonder what they would have thought if they grew up in it. Just because he was blood, didn’t mean he had to agree with everything. Levi remained quiet to the other boy’s question. He wasn’t about to take the lead on a journey that would most likely kill everyone…or worse.

The nineteen year old stared at the girl with widened eyes. He mumbled a few words under his breath at how stupid her reasoning was because if anything those people might get some more food now but later a group of them will also be picked to have the honor to defend this kingdom of theirs. Which they will fail because this was just an endless cycle of the curse bestowed upon them.
"Guess you really are a dumb blonde," he accidentally muttered his thoughts out loud. "Sorry." He shook his head and hoped that would not be a reason to cause a fight among them. Cash Hunter was just less optimistic than she was.
He chuckled at what the hooded boy had said, which was true. There were of course pros and cons to the ruling system. They were just unfortunate enough to get a stupid king who sits idly on his throne and let his people do the dirty work for him. He gripped his bow tighter.
It seemed no one wanted to respond to the hooded boy's question. Cash definitely did not. He thought it was foolish to lead a lost cause. So he looked at the other boy and shrugged. "I guess we walk aimlessly until we encounter something?"
Just then, they did not need to wait long to encounter that something. The dog started barking and Cash was on high alert. He heard rustling behind the bushes and heavy footsteps as he drew an arrow out and got ready to take aim.

The thief was becoming increasingly concerned about this 'quest' or suicide mission whichever you chose to call it. The last thing that he wanted was to get in so deep that he wouldn't be able to make a quick escape when the time came. They were growing increasingly far from the settlement and its walls. Whilst in some way it gave him some hope as it would likely becoming increasingly easy for him to simply slip away into the darkness, it also left them further and further from its relative security.
Timothy couldn't help but glare slightly at the archer. There was no need for comments like that, they were hardly helpful and certainly didn't encourage team bonding. Not that he supposed it mattered all that much, he doubted that the four of them would ever become bosom pals. To his credit, the young man apologized quickly. At least it gave them some inkling as to just what he was thinking about them; the rogue highly doubted that he was any higher in the other's estimations. Maybe that was for the best, after all, they really shouldn't be putting any trust in him, not that he suspected they did. "Lets just stick to being friendly, shall we?"
The idea of wondering aimlessly didn't really appeal to the young rogue. He was used to following trails and making plans to avoid soldiers, guards and other bandits. So simply waiting until trouble found them went contrary to pretty much all of his instincts. Already, he felt himself becoming somewhat nervous as his eyes drifted over the forest. Perhaps the noose might have been the better choice after all.
When the dog barked. Timothy strangely didn't move. Instead, he very steadily reached into his cloak and gripped three of his throwing knives between his fingers. Choosing not to react more than he had to, he barely even turned his head, just enough so that the corner of his peripheral vision could make out the bushes were the noise was coming from. Whoever or whatever came out had better do it peacefully and not linger much longer, otherwise they'd be on the wrong end of a series of sharp objects. The only reason he held off, was the lingering concern that it might be another member from one of the other parties or simply someone who had gotten lost.

Levi was silent, and a bit taken aback by the boy’s comment to the girl. Regardless of how any of them felt about each other, it should remain a thought and a silent one at that. The fact that the boy quickly apologized didn’t mean anything, only that he realized his mistake. But it was already too late. The other guy tried to be civil. Levi could care less about the whole matter.
When the boy suggested they walk aimlessly, Levi simply shrugged and went along with it. It was when the dog started barking that Levi grabbed his knife and began looking around. He watched as the archer drew an arrow. Levi’s head kept panning waiting for whatever it was to show itself, it was then he realized that some was missing. “Where’s the girl?” He asked, more as a thought rather than directly at anyone in particular.
The dog was still with them barking in another direction now and he turned to try and see what the dog was barking at. For all they knew it could be an animal or something. He wandered away from the other two and walked closer to the dog, squinting to see what was behind the bush, when suddenly it appeared. Levi’s eye’s went wide in shock, he lifted his eye patch to help see better. It was a little girl. She was picking up various leaves and rocks from the ground, she couldn’t be no more than five or six years old. What the hell was she doing out here? This didn’t make sense. Something was not right.

After the little and not too nice comment he made, Cash Hunter made to moves to look at his group members. Their glare, reply and silence made the young boy realized that what he had said was a mistake. Well, it was an honest one. He did not intend for it to be voiced out loud, but now that it was, he was not going to try to justify what he said. It was never written anywhere that he had to please anybody.
When the pirate looking man asked for the girl, only then did he realize that their team of four -- five, if including the dog -- was one person short. For a brief moment, his bow drew down as he scanned his surroundings for any trace of Elizabeth. What, couldn't take a small comment like that? he thought sarcastically.
But the thought it not stick long, before his mind refocused to the situation at hand. Cash lifted his bow back up and he had an arrow ready to send flying if a threat was to impose upon them. "What have you got there, matey?" he called out. He nodded to the hooded boy and motion for them to approach the other man and the barking dog.
Once there, the boy gasped when he saw the small girl. However, his bow never lowered but instead, Cash's grip on it only tightened. The arrow pointing at its target.

Timothy's eyes darted around at the news that the girl had vanished. Usually, he prided himself on having pretty good and accurate senses. As a thief, who could be expected to be chased and caught it was an almost essential asset and one which had been hammered into him over the years. To not have noticed what was going on - least of all when it was one of their own very small number - was hardly a good sign of what was to come. Try as he might, he couldn't see any sign of what had happened to her. It was possible, he supposed that she could have taken advantage of their distraction to slip away and avoid having to be sent on this suicide mission.
When he saw the young girl, he frowned but didn't drop his guard. There was something about this entire bizarre situation which had the hairs on the back of his neck sticking on end. His eyes rested upon the barking dog, he trusted animal's instincts, they often had a way of... Sensing things which often weren't perceptible for human beings. If the mutt was still barking and didn't seem to think that this little girl was trustworthy, then neither did Tim. He'd let the other two risk getting close to her.
His eyes drifted around, there was an unsettling feeling in the air. He couldn't quite place it but it was the sort of thing which made him shudder as if someone was walking over his grave. That noose was most definitely looking strangely appealing right now.

Levi kept his focus on the girl. She was unfazed by his presence. There she was just picking up random crap off of the ground. She had a little basket and it was filling up with various pebbles, leaves, and flowers. He lowered his knife unknowingly. He was completely mesmerized by this little girl. She was clean, wearing a simple dress and shoes. Her hair was done into pigtails each had a red bow on them. How hadn’t she noticed him yet?
When Cash called out, Levi didn’t hear it. Everything else that was going on around him no longer mattered. The forest vanished from his mind, the great evil, the battle, the dog still barking, the guys, everything. All he cared about was this little girl. His hazel eyes were locked on her, he slowly sat down on the ground in front of her and just watched her as if she he was watching a movie.

The boy's gripped on his bow tightened with every step he saw the other guy took nearer and nearer to the small girl. He kept his bow and arrow firm where it was as he looked behind him to see the hooded guy who seemed to not have made any moves from where he stood.
His gaze turned to the barking dog and Cash was tempted to throw it in the mix with the guy and the little girl, curious to see what would happen. But the dog only kept barking from where it stood. The boy felt a little ticked off that he did not know what to do now.
He let his arrow fly towards its target. Once the arrow buried inside the left shoulder of the other guy, a shrill sound cut through the forest. It came from the little girl. He covered his hands over his ears.
He knew then that something was to come. They were not alone.

Every single one of Timothy's instincts was telling him to get out of there. With these other two distracted, he doubted that they'd try to stop him and even if they did, he fancied that he'd be able to outrun them especially if he could get a head start. Something caused him to linger however, as he fixed the group and more specifically the young girl and the guy who had decided that it was a good idea to get close to her.
He drew one of his blades, ready should the situation suddenly turn nasty. In theory, they should be the dangerous ones in this situation. In practice, there was something downright freaky about this little girl standing there. There was a reason he was nervous right now, he definitely wouldn't have gotten so close to the child, no matter how inoffensive as the girl appeared.
He caught a flurry of mouvement out of the corner of his eye. It took him a moment to realize that the archer had let loose one of his arrows. God knew what had possessed him to suddenly shoot their ally but Timothy couldn't say that he exactly agreed with the decision. The scream which followed caused him to place his hands over his ears and try to block it out.
"Way to go buckshot..." It was all he could think to mutter.
