Megara "Meg" Knightly
FACE CLAIM: Taylor Momsen
---------------------------------
AGE: 18
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Borderline asexual
POSITION: Bellefaaaaaaante Student
POWER: Healing Hands
Meg has the power to heal people through skin contact. When she touches a person’s injury, she can speed up the cell regrowth to an incredible rate to make the injury heal far faster. Her power requires her to maintain skin contact the whole time in order to heal the wound.
LIMITATIONS:
Meg’s power is mainly dependent on her mental capabilities. Also in order for Meg’s power to work she had to maintain direct skin contact at all times until the injury closes. The speed at which the wound heals depends on the size/severity of the injury, and on her level of focus. Typically tiny wounds like a paper cut or bruise take absolutely no time at all and barely any focus, while a huge deep gash across someone’s leg would take around an hour and extreme amounts of focus. Wounds that are infected take longer for her to fully heal since she also has to get rid of the infection, so treating the wound normally with medicine makes it much easier on Meg. She can also extend her power to fixing bones, but she can’t magically make the bone go back in place. The bone has to be set correctly before she heals it, else it’ll heal incorrectly. Which would definitely be a pain. Uniquely enough Meg can’t heal herself as her own cells are immune to her powers. She can heal everyone else however.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
When Meg strains herself she will begin to shake and feel generally unwell. She can get head-splitting migraines, horrible stomach craps, and even vomit. In worst cases she will knock herself completely unconscious for a few hours. She also tends to get dehydrated after straining herself too much.
HEIGHT: 5’10"
HAIR COLOR: Blonde
EYE COLOR: Blue
MISC: Has a tattoo of a celtic raven near the top of her back that stretches out to touch each shoulder blade.
PERSONALITY: Imagine a vessel that was filled completely to the brim with sass and then given sentience. Congratulations you've met Meg. Meg suffers no fool and isn't afraid to use her share tongue to cut. Her sarcasm is legendary and she makes absolutely no effort to contain it whatsoever, regardless of age and rank. Frankly it's because she doesn't care. Or at least pretends.
Imagine that older sister who acts like she's way too cool for you but in reality she'd be the first person to leap to your defense and offer comfort if you're hurt, while also being the one who'd most likely encourage your crazy antics in some subtle way. That's basically Meg. Deeeeeep deeeeeeep down beneath that infinite sass actually beats *gasp* a heart. It's the reason she wants to be a doctor.
SECRETS: Meg actually does care for other people. Good luck getting her to admit that.
Parents:
Cade Knightly (deceased)
Gerda Knightly
Siblings: Oh Hell nah
Worthy mentions: Bebop (Bombay Cat)
Childhood: Megara’s life started out…… boring. Well, what did you expect? She was a newborn baby. Life’s not all bright lights and dancing girls.
She was born in Boston to Cade and Gerda Knightly, delivered by her own father no less. Her parents were ecstatic to have a baby girl of their own, and name her Megara after Cade’s great aunt. Much to Megara’s annoyance. Unlike her two dark haired parents, Meg’s hair was so light it was practically platinum blonde. Gerda attributed this to her great grandmother; a very wise woman known for her smarts as well as attitude. Taking it as a good sign, Meg’s mother hoped that Megara would grow up to be just as smart as her grandmother.
As she went through the beginnings of school, it seemed like her parents got their wish. Although, perhaps maybe their wish worked too well. Megara was indeed similar to her grandmother in looks, smarts, and also personality. She had a penchant for being sassy and befriending the kids most others would ignore. She might’ve come from a better of family with her dad being a doctor, but Megara didn’t let it go to her head, and rarely mentioned her last name. She honestly couldn’t care less.
Ye Awkwarde Teens: This attitude carried over into her teen years, where Megara continued to keep with her own group of friends and ignoring the other ‘more privileged’ kids. A majority of them were stuck up, and Megara would rather stick with her odd but kind friends. Together they got into a bunch of trouble and went places they really shouldn’t have while doing things they really shouldn’t have been doing. In a few instances they could’ve gotten killed.
However all that changed one day when Meg was 16 and one of her friends got hurt during their shenanigans. Part of their arm got sliced and Meg, actually caring for her friends as she did, was the first to respond to help get them to a clinic to get patched up. However by the time they got there, the wound had mysteriously healed. The only difference was that Meg felt slightly shaky and more tired than usually. Even with the strange occurrence they all returned home. 5 days later when Megara was over at her friends house she got a call from her parents to come home.
Since this normally never happened except in emergencies, Meg hurried over and found two strangers in her house. So apparently she was something called a mutant. And apparently she’d been able to heal her friends with her power.
Well wasn’t that just dandy?
When they started talking about sending her to some school, Megara initially refused. However eventually she agreed to it with the promise she’d be able to contact her friends and family still. After that she was whisked away to Bellefonte. Immediately she started gravitating towards the similar sort of people her original friend group was made up of. Mostly the punks and kid that most figured would never have a job or complete college. They were all surprisingly sweet, and Meg felt like she fit right in.
They were also there for her when she got the news of her father’s death. He’d gotten into a car accident and unfortunately didn’t survive. Devastated by the news, Meg had gone home for the funeral and returned to Bellefonte with a newfound determination. She wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps and become the best damn doctor she could possibly be in order to save lives and help others.
Adulthood: Although her father’s death wasn’t far behind her, she wore it on her shoulders as a motivation to do better in school. Which, given her smarts, wasn’t exactly too hard for her. She still kept both of her friend groups over the years, and also got in contact with some of her father’s friends to get connections for when she would need it in her future.
Now in her senior year, Meg’s main focus is on graduating and getting into college to start making her way towards her goal.
