Anti-Mutant Proof

"Hey Babe. Do you think we should redo the locks too? I mean, the land lord wouldn't be able to get in but that's kind of a risk I'm willing to take." She went on as she stood in front of the front door, contemplating in her black sweats and tank. Vera had always been anal about her and her wife's safety ever since mutants were a known thing to the public. Sure, they were both a trained pair of mutants with some very destructive abilities but anything was possible and Vera just wanted to make sure they were safe in their own home. Or as safe as safe can be.

Which was why today was the day that Vera decided to safe proof their apartment, even if it went against the apartment lease. "Because I'd totally redo the locks if you agree, one stop to Home Depot and it's done."

Okay so maybe she was obsessing now, and not to mention, she kind of tried to force her wife to get on board with it. "We also need to install the new alarm, so we can finally be able to connect to our cellphones. We have to make sure all of the locks on the windows still work properly. Not to mention, we need to make a designated area for a gun just in case... Oh and remind me, we still need to get you a gun license... not that you'll have to use it but you know JUST IN CASE."

Her hazel eyes raised from the list on her cell phone as she remembered one more thing, turning to face her wife. "Oh, we should schedule in a couple more one on one spars this week... or maybe even today if you're up for it, just - you know, because."

Devyn's green eyes remained on her wife from where she was laying on the couch in the living room, looking particularity comfortable. She was in her standard jeans, t-shirt, and topped off with a hoodie for the soul purpose alone that Vera might get cold and want to wear it. Yes, she liked to see her wife in her things so she would often purposely wear some extra layers just in case. However, on the day they both had off it didn't seem like Vera wanted to cuddle but instead make the house even more secure. Dev really could not understand it, given she was pretty confident in her ability along with her wife's ability to keep one another safe.

At least it didn't hurt to improve a few things when it would help Vera feel a bit better about their current living arrangements. However, with everything Vera was wanting to do and the sudden drive to make the home even more secure had Dev wondering what was going on in her wife’s head. Was it because she had to deal with someone giving her a threat? Was it because of the whole 'baby' talk that had been touched on but not by much? "If you really want to sure, but at least let me talk to the owner about it first." Devyn responded. She saw no point in changing the locks, if the landlord ever tried to come into their home without their okay, well it would be the last thing that he would do.

"Alright, I'll be sure to get right on that sometime today." Devyn responded with a sigh following after in response to Vera wanting a better alarm system. That was not all that big of a deal, she could do that and it would be fine. No harm in being able to connect to your place via your phone when the two of you were not always home. Dev's head tilted to the side a little when Vera spoke up about getting a gun and a license for herself. She was fine with them getting a gun, but she didn't think she needed one. "Babe, if things get to the point where I have to use a gun, I'll already been in my other form." Dev pointed out. She really didn't need any weapon, her power, and her body was her weapons.

At the next words that left her mouth, Dev was already moving off the couch and slowly sneaking up behind her wife. She was going to get to the bottom of this sudden obsession and make sure that the two of them at least got to enjoy some of their day off. By the time Vera would turn to look at her, Dev would be right behind her, moving forward to push her wife up against the door to their home. "You really think we still need to spar with one another? I'm fine as long as we are sparing without our clothing on." Devyn responded with a smirk. Her green eyes looking into her wife's hazel ones, trying to get an idea of what was going on in her wife's head.
